The tech Michael came out and immediately seemed perplexed by the issue but after about an hour and a half of messing around determined that it was the main control board and that he would get me a quote for a replacement part and to come back out. He then billed me over $350 for the diagnosis. I then waited a couple of weeks pestering the main office to get my quote for the repair. Guess how much? $1500. $1000 for the part and another $500 for labor and tax. I have some connections and managed to source the part myself for less than $300. I've heard of cost plus markups on parts but triple the cost.....really? I got Clean Air and Michael to agree to come out and replace the part using the part I sourced and only charge for labor. Guess what? After spending another hour or so replacing the part there was a new error code and the fireplace still didn't work. Michael promised to reach out to Napoleon to help him diagnose the problem and get back to me when he had an answer. That was 4 weeks ago and I never heard from Clean Air or Michael again. Like a fart in the wind. Gone. Not even a courtesy call letting me know that they had no idea how to fix my fireplace and sorry about me wasting $1000 on a part and 2 useless service calls. I guess I just had it coming. In the end I called Innovations. Their tech came out found a high limit switch tripped and reset it. No parts required. Less than 30 minutes to fix it. People in their offices are sweltering and those in cubicles are either freezing -- wearing coats, hats, and blankets indoors -- or sweating and stripping off layers. These temperature extremes are only 5 to 10 feet apart. Also, the system for regulating temperature and fans is clunky: thermostats near a vent actually operate vents across the room and they're not very intuitive. It takes an engineer to program it, and I work with engineers. We're still freezing/sweltering. Makes no sense. Anyway, just wanted to put my 2 cents in while my fingers still have feeling.

When they came out to perform the work, they stated that actually the duct work did have issues with holes and damage.A complete contradiction of the first evaluation! They stated that all the insulation needed to be removed due to the risk of formaldehyde vapors that can be unhealthy. This is untrue! According to the EPA the formaldehyde in fiberglass insulation is NOT harmful to human health. We will look elsewhere.

They did a great job but informed me of a crack in the grout in one shower, causing potential for water leakage and water damage (NOT something to mess with when living in a highrise!). They do not repair or seal grout, but they strongly advised me to get this issue tended to ASAP. Of course I freaked out. A neighbor recommended COIT, saying they re-grouted both her showers prior to moving in and they did a fabulous job. She referred me to James. I left a message for him right away, and I was so impressed that he returned my call promptly. He came by a day or so later to inspect the shower and give me an estimate (I asked to add on my master shower too, to be proactive before the grout cracked there as well). He emailed me the quote and I called and booked the appointment right away. I got lucky that there was an opening (I think there had been a cancellation), and one of their senior techs, Melissa, came the following afternoon. And she was AWESOME. SUPER knowledgeable, super professional, so so nice. Like James, they know their stuff. She totally resealed all the grout in the problematic shower and then she did some aesthetic grout work on the master shower and ensure both were water-tight and good to go.
