If you have a short attention span you might as well stop reading now, this is a long one. About four months ago I decided to buy and install a T-Style radio in my 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL. I did a tragically brief search on YouTube and found one that looked pretty good and was well prices (under a grand). It had but a sign review and it was from a self-proclaimed Jeep expert who installed it for his video (or whatever they call YouTube submissions these days). He liked it, having nothing negative to say about it all. Blinded by excitement I ordered one. For weeks I waited, requesting update from the company (Chinese of course) and not hearing a word. Just before I called by credit card company to request a refund it arrived. The unit looked nice and came with a plethora of wires and gargets, but no installation instructions. But that's OK, the YouTube Jeep expert had included his self-installation as part of his video. So off I went installing this complicated piece of hardware with my son assisting (neither of us experienced in this kind of thing). I'm a Project Manager for a company that builds multi-million-dollar houses, how hard could this be? We were barely into the install when it became brutally obvious that the expert's video had skipped quite a few steps. We gave up and I started attempting to locate someone in the area who could take over. I found someone who agreed to give it a shot. Before they even started, they warned me about these off-brand T-Style radios and pretty much tried to talk me out of it. I did it anyways... it was a disaster. I have no doubt that he did his best with what I had, it's just that I had was junk. I decided to pull the pug on this experiment and asked for a return/full refund from the manufacturer. Just like before, not a peep out of them. However, my credit card company had my back. Full refund processed with 48 hours of contacting them. Way to go Amex! I still had the T-Style radio urge but this time I invested the time and did much more in-depth research. While none of this radio get across the board fantastic reviews, I did notice a trend. Almost all the negative review were from individuals who had attempted self-installs, had used installers with no experience with these types of radios or were shoehorning these radios into vehicles they were not designed for. All points considered in my research and plan of action. I decided on the LinksWell Gen 5 radio. Once you applied the filters mentioned above almost all the review were positive. In other words, if they were installed by someone who knew what they were doing and used by someone who understood their capabilities the reviews were great. So, I said to myself... Self, maybe it would be best to get a recommended seller and installer directly from the manufacturer... so I did. I went onto their website and lo and behold they have a "Find a Retailer" section. I punched in my zip code, and it kicked back four options. I called the first two on the list (on a Sunday) and left messages. I didn't hear back from one of them for two weeks. However, I heard back from Rick at "In Your Ear Stereo Gear" the following morning. First star earned, professionalism! Rick knew every inch, every function and every challenge associated with this radio. He was honest about its strengths and weaknesses (no radio is perfect) and invited me to his shop where he had one hooked up on display. Second star earned, knowledge! The following weekend I took a visit to his shop. It's a small unassuming shop currently surrounded by ongoing construction. When you pull up you notice two things. The first is the perpetual activity in this two bay and a sales office audio oasis. The second is the parking lot, while small, it is always packed with cars. This only happens when you've done the type of work that builds loyalty which build return customers which build word-of-mouth advertising (the best kind). Obvious customer loyalty... third star earned. We sat in my Jeep and talked for quite a while. This is a humble guy who quietly flexes his audio muscle by asking the right questions. He didn't start in with a sales pitch. He first took the time to profile what kind of listener I was. Personalization of the solution... fourth star earned. I was impressed to say the least. I ended up purchasing the LinksWell (at a very competitive price - fifth star earned) and even when back to address some issues with two of my speakers and will be returning a third time to add a subwoofer. I recently went in and asked about a bass system. I went in having no knowledge on the topic and Ricky helped me out. He calculated how much it was going to be and I said I was a college student and couldn't really afford that much. Instead of not wanting to help me he gave me options. He told me to go buy the products online to stay in my budget (he gave me the parts to buy specifically) he was very respectful of my budget. I scheduled an appointment and brought my car in. I told him I was nervous about what he was doing so he told me exactly what he would be doing. He knew my car was my baby and treated it with respect. I am beyond happy with the customer service and the outcome of my new bass. As well as my family going there to tint all of our cars. went in for tint on new car. Estimate was for one price for legal tint and I told him to make sure they did the moon roof. When I came back to pick up the car, they did not do the moon-roof. So I had to wait longer and then they tell me the price is higher than the quote. Was it an honest mistake, if it was it should not have happen. Do the job right on time for the price you quote. Then the I asked for the paperwork saying the tint was legal, we don't have anything like that I was told. Sounds like they are not really paying attention to their customers. read more

Had amp and speakers installed in my new 2015 gmc 3500HD two months ago. Well it caught on fire where they grounded to the body under the carpet. Fortunately I was in the truck when I saw the flames and was able to save the truck from burning up (about 3k in damage) They will not return my calls to give me their liability insurance information. I would suggest another company. read more

I have to say "this is the worse car stereo place ever". I paid them close to $3,000 for a dvd player, 2 side doors speakers, 12in sub and 3 amps. Let just say what i paid was way beyond what i got. NOTHING WAS FIXED RIGHT! !, instead of giving me there best AMP they put in 3-40watts which cuts off after 30min of use. dvd player which freaking sucks bad.......EVERYTHINGTHE DID TO MY CA WAS AL MESSED UP, I HAD TO GO OVER THERE FEW TIMES TO GET THE SAME FIXED OVER AND OVER UNTILL I JUST GOT TIRED. These people are the worse to do business with. With the car I drive, I should have taken it to a professional Stereo place. For me to take time and sit here and write a review really shows how bad they are. I never had to do this before till now. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOU CAR OVER THERE. read more

They have now tinted 6 of my families vehicles and my work truck. They always do a clean quick job. One time their solution left watermarks. I stopped by and they took time to scrub the door panels clean, and said if they couldn't get it out they'd get a detailer to. They got the stains out and knocked off the cost of a visor added on. I've always been very happy with their tinting services and will continue to use them. read more

Over the past two years Ricky and his team have done a great job! In 2018 they installed a backup camera and monitor in our 2014 minivan. Today, his team installed a new radio to replace our failed unit. I fully trust this owner and company. Yeah cannot recommend In your ear either. We had to wait for a scheduled appt for 7 hours. 7 HOURS. After the 7 hours I took the truck home with a rattle and after a close inspection of the light bar installation, it was done horribly. They didn't use the rubber mat supplied on one side which meant the frame for light was metal on metal. One screw popped out that I was fortunate to find. All in all, just a bad experience. I can't say enough good about my experience today with Ricky at "In Your Ear Stereo Gear" in Lehigh Acres. Today I took my car in to fix a botched up install that someone else had done off a craigslist ad. While most people wouldn't even touch the project Ricky never complained about it, he just knew his stuff and said he could fix the problem. His installs are clean and professional and he is so great to deal with. I will be returning to have my remote start installed in my car. Went in to have DVD player fixed. I was told the system was mismatched and who ever did it didn't know what they were doing. They offered to sell me a new very expensive unit. That when I let them know they sold me and installed the unit in question. WTF. They are crooks or idiots. read more

Went in for a Stereo install on my 350z . When I picked up the vehicle the stereo was working as they showed me the features of it. It had a little buzzing sound but not to bad so I let it go. When I started to drive of their driveway the sound stopped, I came back in and the guy looked at it with a worried stare. They quickly took the faceplate off and I realized they didn't finished the job. The wires were still untaped and it seems they didn't even use a noise reductor. I would't recommend these guys for a professional job. They are ok with window tinting, but the stero installin skills suck. read more
