Not obsess over fake bamboo plants and mini cherry blossoms :) Unlike the insipid strip mall sushi I have been eating in other towns, this food was outstanding. My order: Shrimp shumai - I am addicted to this dish in general. I have to order it everywhere. I know I shouldn't as they're small and don't pack the punch the $7-$10 menu price commands - but still, like a moth to a flame, I'm incapable of saying no. These were better than most places - but still small and inhaled so quickly, my waitress didn't have to return for my plate - she just took it. I then got the blackened tuna sashimi salad - FANTASTIC. I wish I got 2. Fresh, flavorful. Really what I was looking for (I did ask for a side of wasabi). Rounding out appetizers was the tuna sushi pizza my colleagues rave about. It was really good. Like a deconstructed tuna/avocado roll. Delicious. But I felt silly eating something with my hands at a sushi joint. I'll likely pass on that next time and save the room for an additional roll. Entree was a Spicy Girl tuna roll and a Blackened Tuna roll. Both were excellent. I wish I could still be enjoying them. If you have not yet been - go! Thankfully, as our food was served she was there to explain that the best way to experience the chef's creation is to eat it as it presented (without soy sauce) first.
