Just your typical "run of the mill" sushi fusion of japanese and Peruvian food. We came over around 9:30pm on a Saturday, it wasn't too busy but our food took about 30 min to come out, which wasn't great. The ginger that we were given was not very good, it kinda tasted too sour. Wasabi was also kinda watery consistency. They do have couple of interesting concepts that I haven't seen elsewhere, like lobster tuna guacamole, that was tasty, but I think it would be cool if it would come served on a chip maybe? This place is TINY with only a few tables. We were lucky they had a table for 3! Credit to the waiter for warning us that it would be at least 45 mins for a roll and he wasn't lying! The ceviche empanadas and the lomo saltodo roll were both tasty but a little salty for me. My friend changed the regular seaweed in the rolls for rice wraps and I think they'd both be better as they are supposed to be. The fish was really fresh though! I found this place for takeout by chance while looking for a lunch option during a business trip. At the time, I didn't realize it was a fusion spot, but that does explain why my rainbow roll was a little different than the usual roll. The rainbow roll was tasty and seemed fresh, but I wasn't a fan of the creamy sauce on it. I would have preferred tobiko. I noticed on the menu that all items were made fresh, so they could personalize anything. If I return, I'll have them skip the sauce and go with tobiko. I also had a piece of salmon roe sushi. The roe seemed a bit tired. The interior is small and cute. I don't know how much of a wait there is at prime time. I was there mid-way between lunch and dinner and it was almost empty. I ordered on site and waited while my food was prepared. Given how empty the restaurant was, it took longer than I would expected. TLDR: fusion Peruvian Japanese food in downtown! I personally love fusion food because it combines the best of both worlds. It also allows people to try new flavors without venturing too far into it (for all the picky eaters). FOOD Salmon delight: I don't know why I'm so impressed by the little flakes of gold, but it's definitely a nice visual touch. This roll is great for someone who's not looking for too much rice. I was pretty surprised by how much they give as well. Octopus ceviche: relatively affordable octopus! However, I thought that this needed some more acidity to balance out the flavors. Hamachi Deluxe Roll: more of a classic (American) Japanese sushi roll. Though, I wouldn't recommend this to someone who doesn't like heavier rolls because of the sauce Lomo Saltado Roll: my favorite thing all night. It's sushi rolls surrounding a mountain of lomo saltado. Who can say no to that? Thai Donuts: my second favorite thing all night! The donuts were freshly made, and not stale at all. Paired with the condensed milk and ice cream... it was a perfect way to end the meal. DRINKS Lychee Saketini: love this as a quiet night type of drink (I don't know if that makes sense haha) AMBIANCE This is a smaller establishment right next to the metro stop. It had hole in the wall vibes yet still somewhere to take a casual date. SERVICE Great service! Decided to stop by here after class. Walked in it was about maybe 3 other people in there. They do have a lunch special for about $14.99, that's what I got. I got the soup and omg it was actually my first time trying soup at a sushi spot( yes I know I've been missing out). The soup was so flavorful I could eat it everyday. I asked for a side of rice to add into it. I got the sushi and it was delicious it doesn't come with a side of spicy mayo so asked for it and it was really good. I also ordered the Thai donuts, they were okay could've used a little more sauce. This is a hidden gem next to Miami dade college. It was very good. It was among some of the better rolls we've had. Then we ordered the Lobster Heaven roll. Let me tell you.... By far the best roll I've ever eaten in my life.
