A rare dining experience, A gem in the MIA. If I ever get to dine here again, It will be a gloriously delicious day! It's The Hungry Poet back at it y'all, and I must say, this was one of the most eclectic, sexy, fully satisfying food experiences of my life. From the time you walk in the vibe is we have a dress code and if you didn't follow it you're gonna stick out like a sore thumb! But this a place where you wanna be in sync with the vibe. It's intoxicating (and I don't drink!) When we entered there was nothing that could prepare me for the open roof-garden vibe. The dim lights and chill, ethereal music set the tone. Service and the food recommendations they made...spectacular. The service team was extremely knowledgeable about every dish. The dining pace is as such: order everything at once and they keep the items rolling out steadily. Dishes are made to share. But don't fight your table mates. The food is THAT good! The Katsu Sando is to die for. Maybe not die, but I might give a limb for it. Okay, a toe. It's disturbingly delicious and worth the price. I have to forget it exists or I'd crave it every day! All the sushi was uniquely flavored. Each roll was its own special treat for the palate, and had a flavor identity that was memorable and unlike anything I've ever tasted. The kimchi sauce that came with the goyza had a beautiful composition, not too spicy. That dessert was crazy flavorful and unlike any dessert I've ever eaten. It may sound like I'm exaggerating but an every minute of this dinner blew me away. Grab a reservation and treat yourself...it's worth the drive 100%. Another review giving it to you straight no chaser from Lizz aka The Hungry Poet.

Yamashiro is located in Downtown Miami and was a bit difficult to find at first, as it is located on the 9th floor in a building with no sign of the restaurant until you get to the 9th floor. I ended up parking in a nearby garage which costed me $27 for the 2.5 - 3 hours I was there. As soon as you check in for your reservation the service is wonderful. Everyone; the hosts, bussers, servers and managers, are very kind and attentive to the guests. Our server Bibi went above and beyond with excellent recommendations, and making sure to check in with us throughout the entire meal. She was very bubbly and knew a lot about the food and cocktail menus. We were seated at the front of the restaurant which was a bit more of a calm vibe, but once you walk into the main dining area it is very vibrant, lively and beautifully decorated. There is a DJ booth so I'm assuming they have events or live music at some points. There is also a dancer who comes around each table and adds to the ambiance. The music does get pretty loud so if you want an intimate setting, this may not be the place for you. The food was surprisingly good! I somewhat expected this because I've only heard good things, but there was a part of me that thought this would just be an over hyped Miami restaurant. There was only one dish we ordered that was not good, and the cocktail we chose may not be for everyone because it had a pickled ingredient that can feel a bit overpowering. A few other things to note are that some of the dishes are small, so to make sure you're ordering the right amount of food for your party. It's also important to know that the entire restaurant is outdoors. Although it is covered/sheltered, it's an open air concept and it can get very hot. I would recommend brining a small handheld fan if you tend to get hot easily. Other than that it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it and come back.

Friends had been raving about Yamashiro for a while so it's been on my radar and finally made it on a recent Wednesday night for a collaboration dinner with Eating House. The ambience and decor are absolutely stunning and the service was great but what matters most is of course the food (and drinks). The dishes were so inventive and incredible marriage of the yamashiro style with signature Eating House flavors. Every plate was a hit, as were the drinks. Will definitely be back.

Great ambiance and decor, wish that I was able to catch the geisha performance! I enjoyed most of the meal with great gusto, especially the sushi! Scallop nigiri was my favorite, so soft and topped with some refreshing ginger/citrus? Skip the uni, unless we had a bad batch The surf & turf roll was rich, while the yamashiro roll was more refreshing. Honestly, wagyu sandos were underwhelming for me. They were chewy but the texture didn't quite do it for me. Maybe if the bread had been more toasted it would've created a better contrast with the meat. I've had better spicy tuna crispy rice Favorite was probably the kale salad, it was perfectly crispy, although a bit too much sauce.

Must know before you go: the restaurant is located within the Gale hotel. There is no good signage at the bottom but if you park there you use the hotel valet. Parking is otherwise difficult. They are working on indoor seating as well that should be open soon but it is an OUTSIDE only restaurant as of now so during the summer months it can be hot! Otherwise the experience was amazing. The outdoor seating area is beautiful and transports you away from feeling like you are in downtown Miami. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. The cocktails were refreshing and well presented. We started with the edamame and katsu sando. The katsu sando was delicious and tender but in my opinion on the pricier side. We shared the three kings platter which was a nice variety of three different cuts of meat. The bone marrow included with the platter was okay but a little underwhelming. We also got a side of the wild mushroom rice pot which was a good umami flavor. We also tried the Yamashiro roll which had a good mix of flavors with the Serrano pepper. Overall it was a good experience but would have been more enjoyable in better weather.

An Evening at Yamashiro I had the pleasure of dining at Yamashiro on Wednesday evening with my best friend, and from start to finish, the entire experience was exceptional. It was one of those evenings where every detail--from the food and cocktails to the atmosphere and hospitality--came together beautifully. We started with cocktails. I ordered the Downtown Abbey made with Ketel One Vodka, guava, gold lavender syrup, yuzu, and Prosecco. At $22, it was beautifully balanced--refreshing, elegant, and, most importantly, not overly sweet. The combination of guava, lavender, and yuzu gave it a lovely balance of fruit, floral notes, and acidity. My friend enjoyed a passion fruit margarita, which was equally delicious and a perfect way to begin the evening. For our first course, we ordered several dishes to share. The Katsu Tender Sando was absolutely incredible--easily one of the highlights of the meal. It was so flavorful and satisfying that I could have happily ordered another one. The Cucumber Tataki Salad was the perfect contrast: crisp, tangy, refreshing, and light. It brought a beautiful freshness to the table and helped balance some of the richer dishes. We also had the steamed edamame with truffle, which was such a simple dish elevated by the addition of truffle. It was a subtle but very nice touch and showed how a familiar ingredient can feel completely different with the right finishing element. For our second course, we shared a sashimi and nigiri platter, and the quality of the fish really stood out. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, delicate, and beautifully prepared. Each piece allowed the natural flavor and texture of the fish to shine without being overwhelmed by unnecessary additions. For our main course, we had the ribeye steak, which was rich, flavorful, and perfectly suited for sharing. But if I had to choose one absolute favorite from the savory courses, it would be the miso butter corn. The combination of sweet corn with the savory richness of miso butter was incredible. It was one of those dishes that sounds simple but ends up being something you keep thinking about after the meal. We finished dinner with a lava cake, which was the perfect indulgent ending to the meal. But the evening didn't end there. After dinner, we were invited to experience the new 400 Vinyls room, and honestly, this was one of my favorite parts of the entire night. The room has a completely different energy while still maintaining the sophistication of Yamashiro. The atmosphere feels elevated yet warm and homey, making it an incredibly comfortable place to settle in and enjoy the rest of the evening. And then came the dirty martini--possibly one of the best dirty martinis I've ever had. Made with Beluga Gold, it was beautifully executed and exactly the kind of cocktail you want to end an evening with. The music was another highlight. It was incredibly diverse, with something for everyone, and it created an atmosphere that felt lively without becoming overwhelming. The 400 Vinyls room is truly the kind of space where you can see yourself staying for "just one more drink" and suddenly realizing you've spent the rest of the night there. Overall, Yamashiro gave us much more than just a great dinner. It was a complete experience--from the food and cocktails to the setting, music, and transition into the 400 Vinyls room. It felt sophisticated without being pretentious, intimate without being too quiet, and energetic without losing its sense of elegance. It was the perfect night out with my best friend, and 400 Vinyls was the perfect way to end it.

I definitely would recommend Yamashiro Miami to anyone looking for an elegant fine dining experience. Not only was the food delicious, but the setting and ambiance were absolutely beautiful. The skyline views are breathtaking, and the entire restaurant makes you feel transported into a sophisticated Japanese-inspired atmosphere. We ordered several dishes, but my favorite was the Chicken and Truffle Gyoza. I also really enjoyed the Hokkaido Harvest, which included sashimi, nigiri, and a spicy tuna roll. The spicy tuna roll was honestly one of the best I've ever had. What really elevated the experience was the service. Mariana, the manager, welcomed us as soon as we sat down and helped us navigate the menu with great recommendations. Our server, Raymond, was excellent and timed every dish perfectly. Just as we finished one course, the next arrived, making the entire meal flow seamlessly. He was incredibly attentive. Between the food, service, and stunning views, this was an experience I thoroughly enjoyed and I will definitely be back.

I took my mom to Yamashiro for Mother's Day and honestly... the experience was giving "luxury sushi day with a side quest" First of all, the decor? BEAUTIFUL. The whole area leading up to the restaurant feels like a movie set. My mom is a full fashionista, so naturally we spent 37 business days taking pictures before even sitting down. Every corner is basically begging to be posted on Instagram. If you like a good photo moment, this place delivers. The ambience during the day was such a vibe too. Classy, upbeat, rooftop energy without trying too hard. It felt like a sophisticated little daytime party. Now let's address the tiny ants in the room. Unfortunately, because it's an indoor/outdoor rooftop-style establishment, there was a pretty noticeable ant situation at our original table. My mom actually got bitten on the leg by one little ant who clearly thought he had Mother's Day reservations too. BUT... this is where the staff absolutely shined. The daytime manager was AMAZING. So accommodating, sweet, attentive, and genuinely concerned about making sure my mom was okay. They moved us immediately, checked on us multiple times, gave us a few things on the house, and truly handled the situation with grace and professionalism. Honestly, customer service like that can completely change an experience, and they did exactly that. As for the food... we made it a full sushi roll day. The Wagyu roll? ABSOLUTELY incredible. Rich, flavorful, and worth fighting over. The yellowtail roll was actually the star of the day though. So fresh, flavorful, perfectly balanced... we kept talking about it after. The crab roll was okay. A little on the dry side compared to the others, but not terrible. They also surprised us with complimentary dessert and a round of drinks because of the little ant incident, which we really appreciated. Price-wise? I don't know if every single roll matched the price tag perfectly... but honestly, the overall experience balanced everything out. Great service, beautiful atmosphere, amazing music, good food, gorgeous decor, and my mom had such a wonderful Mother's Day. Would definitely come back again... hopefully with slightly fewer ants and slightly fewer pictures on my camera roll.

Came here for dinner and overall really enjoyed it. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the view outside is really nice, and the service was great the entire night. The Sando sandwiches were my favorite thing we ordered... super buttery, perfectly toasted, and sooo good. We also had the 3 Kings meat platter and honestly the only meat I really loved was the one with the bone marrow. If you like rich, fatty flavors, that one is ittt. The cucumber salad was delicious and the spicy crispy tuna roll actually had really good flavor but the rice tasted stale and old to the point where it was hard to chew. I wish it had been fresher because I would've enjoyed it way more. The gyozas didn't really impress me and the wild mushroom pot was good but nothing super memorable. Overall this is pretty spot for dinner with some really good dishes and I see myself coming back for those sandos!

Yamashiro pulls out all the stops! The hospitality and staff here are the stars of the show, and that's saying something lot because the food is really good. The Yamashiro roll was amazing, light, fresh, and really packed a flavor punch. The surf & turf roll was great, but a little on the heavier side. We also tried the truffle and chicken gyoza, which was good but not great. We then settled on the Denver steak since they were sold out of the filet mignon and it definitely surprised me. The beef was perfectly cooked and the quality was chef's kiss, very tender and full of flavor. For dessert, don't skip the Japanese flan. It's not as custardy as traditional Hispanic flan, a little on the airy side and a bit sweeter. Overall, a great spot for date night or a celebration.

The service at Yamashiro Miami was incredible from the moment you walk out of the 9th-floor elevator and are greeted with very friendly faces, all the way to the exceptional attention to detail at the table. Every single thing we ordered was absolutely delicious. We started with the martini cart which is prepared table side with your glass chilled with liquid nitrogen, which set a fun tone for the night. The Truffle Edamame, Ceviche Amarillo was incredibly delicious, and Hamachi Tataki were the perfect fresh starters. The Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and Shrimp Tempura were perfect to share. the Katsu Sando was tender and delcious, the octopus was cooked to perfectly, and the Yamashiro Sushi Platter was fresh and beautifully presented.

What a wonderful evening! We visited for the first time to celebrate my early birthday, and it was such a memorable experience. The easiest way to get to the Gale Hotel is by Uber, although valet parking is also available. From the moment we arrived, the staff at the Gale were incredibly welcoming and directed us to take the elevator to the 9th floor, where the restaurant is located. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who was so accommodating, even though we arrived a little behind our reservation time. The restaurant has a beautiful open-air atmosphere with an elevated, stylish ambiance. I absolutely loved the décor--Yamashiro did a fantastic job creating such a stunning space. The menu was extensive, with so many great options to choose from. The cocktails were absolutely gorgeous, with every detail thoughtfully presented. We loved the Hamachi Tataki, especially when the sauce was poured tableside--it was both delicious and a fun presentation. The Katsu Sando was incredible, with meat so tender it practically melted in your mouth. We finished our savory courses with the Wild Mushroom Rice Pot, which was mixed tableside and topped with freshly shaved truffle. If you're a truffle lover like me, this dish is an absolute must! Of course, we had to end the evening with dessert to make a birthday wish! We ordered the Miso Lava Cake, and it was absolutely delicious--the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal. The entertainment made the experience even more magical. Beautiful performers in geisha-inspired attire stayed in character as they gracefully walked through the restaurant and performed curated dances throughout the evening, adding to the immersive atmosphere. From the warm hospitality to the stunning ambiance, incredible food, beautiful cocktails, and unique entertainment, every detail was thoughtfully executed. It was the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, and we can't wait to return! Our waiter walked us over to the speakeasy lounge , 400 vinyl room to end our night with some dancing. We were greeted by Blake and showed us to our seat and celebrated my birthday with such great energy! Loved the place perfect lounge ambiance with great music playing with two dj spinning with vinyl. Yes actual vinyls love this! We will definitely make be back!

Don't get me wrong, they are still excellent, but this is more of a 4.4 than a true 5 star. For me Zuma had a pleasant ambiance, lots of beautiful people, great outdoor seating to watch the yachts go by. So if that's what you are looking for, this is a good place to stop in. Also I give them points for not rushing you even though in their policy there is a seating time limit. We ended up just ordering the premium omakase, and that was quite a bit of food. I am glad I didn't order extras like I usually like to do at an Omakase. While the food in general is good and enjoyable, there was nothing very memorable, other than their Lava cake. That was to die for! And I skips dessert 99% of the time. Service was good but not stellar, could be because they had wait staff in training (during table service, our server didn't really know how to properly shave a truffle and another staff had to take over. Our courses are mumbled, doesn't sound like our server was confident about what the food is)

Osaka Brickell: Extraordinary…read more My wife and I visited Osaka in Brickell, Miami, this evening--and I was so impressed that I rushed home to write this review. The Verdict In one word: extraordinary. We loved it. Restaurants often use the word "fusion" loosely, but at Osaka, it truly applies. The menu delivers Peruvian and Japanese fusion at its best: a thoughtful blend of South American and Japanese flavors, with each bite offering a beautifully engineered explosion of taste. Food The food is creative, beautifully presented, and genuinely unique--but Osaka offers much more than great dishes. Our server, Yesenia, guided us with recommendations that balanced our preferences with the restaurant's signature flavors, including a remarkably fresh sashimi amuse-bouche, Kiiro ceviche, a Hongos Teppan trumpet mushroom dish that was not listed on the menu, and a Nikkei Makimono that brought Peruvian flavors into a traditional sushi roll. The restaurant manager, Miki, also checked in during our meal. The service was casual, attentive, and perfect. Ambiance is paid to every detail. We ate at the sushi bar, but the main dining area was spectacular, and the bar area was sublime. Lastly, the music was a combination (fusion) of new age, Peruvian jungle music and Japanese sounds all blended into a crescendo on the experience. Try it....you'll love it. Ten out of ten !

You have to try the A5 Wagyu beef with the foie gras, both were incredible and full of flavor. The drinks were just as good and really well made by the bartender Domen. What stood out the most was the service. Robbie y Dylan treated us like royalty and knew the menu like the back of their hand. Everyone treated me so kindly and made me feel welcome the entire time. Definitely a place you want to visit for great food, drinks, and a great atmosphere.

The highlight for me was definitely the wagyu slider--hands down the best slider we've ever had. I'm usually not a big fan of burgers or sliders, but this one completely changed my mind. It was rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The wagyu tataki was also excellent, tender and well-balanced in flavor. The sashimi and seafood were incredibly fresh, which is always a must for us, and Novikov did not disappoint. The dim sum selection was outstanding--each dish was crafted with care and packed with flavor. And the desserts? Easily some of the best we've had compared to other premium buffets--beautifully presented and delicious. What truly elevated the experience was the service. It was attentive, warm, and made us feel genuinely special throughout the brunch. As a lovely birthday surprise, my wife received a hat as a gift and got to choose her favorite--she picked the red one, which made the brunch even more memorable.

Then they pour the bottle touching the rim of your glass spreading contaminated germs from the other patron's glass! GROSS! They proudly boast that their service is top notch, while it's 7 men standing in the corner and 1 sweet woman dressed like a geisha being obnoxiously monitored. The vibe felt very intense there. The hovering over people in this tiny, little whole in the wall restaurant felt overwhelming. I started to lose my patience being that there is so much staff standing around and found myself several times having to pour my own wine bottle. 2nd, I told them it was my son's birthday and nobody went out of their way to make his birthday special! And just a fair warning, you will spend over a $1000 dollars and walk out of there still very hungry! What a disappointment! Furthermore, they price gouge people trying to pass off as if his restaurant is Michelin worthy! An absolute joke! And here's the "best part" when I tried to voice my concerns, I was told to leave! I was very polite and instead of hearing me out, trying to make my experience better, I get told to leave! How disgusting! Please don't come here. The ambiance is terrible, overwhelming, and you will get sick because they have no consideration for cross contamination!

We got there a bit before our reservation time, and they let us sit in the smaller dining area as we waited for our spots to open up. We all did the $200 tasting and we were all pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of the bites. It's 8 courses that range from a nigiri sampler, small bites, and dessert. Most memorable were the clam broth, beef loin and carrots, and the fatty tuna nigiri with caviar on top. The fatty tuna nigiri with caviar was the main reason I wanted the tasting! There is an à la carte menu too, but it was a lot easier just letting the chefs portion out our meal. Would definitely check them out and enjoy a superb evening out!
