While in Key West, my wife and I found this gem of a restaurant. Inka's Restaurant is on White Street, outside of the frantic tourist district. The night we were there, it was clear that 1/2 the people there were locals and regular customers. The waiter was attentive and friendly. No waiting g to get a table, either. The offerings were varied, touching Peruvian specialties from seafood to chicken and beef dishes (no cuy, though!) I liked that they had Cusquena beer, my favorite Peruvian beer. They also offered Inka Cola, Peru's national soda. I had a beef "tacu-tacu" (think stirfry) served over a bed of rice and beans. Delicious! I didn't have the chance to review before but it happened a while ago. The food wasn't authentic peruvian food. The server was a Puerto Rican. We asked for appetitizer yuca frita with huancayna sauce, the yucas fritas were roten, the huancayna sauce as well roten. The spaghetti's with huancayna sauce with grilled chicken, she cooked the chicken over the spaghetti in pices like lomo saltado without onions or tomatoes it tasted horrible, and lomo saltado de carne was horrible it wasn't authentic Peruvian food made not by peruvian instead by a Puerto Rican. When I let her know tbat I will pay for the food but we won't eat because it wasn't fresh and authentic she made a show crying that her food was good. We felt very uncomfortable paid and left the place. I don't recommend. My daughter eat a small portion and get sick. Be careful to go to that place. read more

Once you get over the fact that this is a hole in the wall, and that the decor consists of a large photo of Machu Picchu and little else, you can have a good time. we arrived on a Tuesday night with only one other (Spanish speaking regulars) couple dining. We had a group of 6 and there was only one other local there for lunch. I think I ended up choosing Shrimp Ceviche. I wish it came with rice, but you can order it on the side. - Food DELICIOUS! Very strong flavors, getting a side of rice is almost a must. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. I love the Ceviche dish more than the cooked one that comes with rice. Thankfully my friend and I shared and it worked out perfectly. -Price I found it to be very pricey. With that said, the quantity of food is very generious. I would give this place another star if the side dishes were priced more reasonably. The food is made fresh so the wait wasn't very long, but if you are starving keep in mind it is made fresh. If you have ever eaten Peruvian food, please don't go here. I am guessing all the 4 and 5 stars are from people who are trying Peruvian food for the first time. I love Peruvian food and even make Ahi sauce at home, so this came as a complete let down. On the bright side, the restaurant is clean, service is ok (not friendly) and I did like the dish of Choclo (warm Peruvian giant corn bits) which came with Huancaina cream sauce (spicy sauce but they are too miser with it). For enterees we ordered Lomo Saltado and seafood paella. The Lomo saltado was watery (yuck) and lacking any flavor. It was really pathetic. The beef was chewy which made this dish one of the worst things I've ever tasted. The Paella was horrible. It was basically fried rice with 2-3 pieces of shrimps and scallops. If I had not ordered the same dish at El Siboney, I would have thought maybe no one knows what paella really tastes like in Key west. Please do yourself a favor and do not order this dish. The rice was not even fresh....I left most of it. The food was really disgusting, we ended up asking the server to give us some sauce to put some flavor on the food. I would not recommend this place if you are foodie or just like to eat good food. It is overpriced for the mediocre dishes and bland, flavorless food that come out of the kitchen. read more

Saw this place when I was on the Conch Train Tour. While it wasn't mentioned on the tour, I k wow I had to hit it up. The next day we rented bikes and bikes over for a refreshing beverage. It was after the lunch rush and the entire restaurant was empty. The guy who greeted us was friendly and we ordered Chicha morada. I k ew to order this having been to Peru previously. I also asked for a snack bowl of dried corn. The Chicha was delicious and a generous glass size. The corn was served with a delicious salsa, which I wasn't expecting. We weren't hungry enough to eat lunch/dinner but I did check out the menu and it looks delicious. They have a large assortment of fish, which sounded delicious. We asked for to go cups for our Chicha and the guy topped them off with no charge. I also got an order of salsa and corn to go. Highly recommend. Nice prices. Friendly atmosphere. Small seating area. Owner is Puerto Rican and didn't know much about Peruvian culture. He said he purchased the place from a Peruvian owner about 7 years ago. read more
