I took the tour to Yosemite and Giant Sequoia Small Group Day Tour led by Joshua. He is twenty-five years old and was hired two months earlier for six months. Overall, I was happy with him as a tour guide. We got enough information during his talking. There were issues with not hearing him well enough and he said it was hard to know when we would arrive at specific points. He seemed intelligent and had a nice personality. I had a nice day. There were fourteen people in the group. We met at 6:30am in San Francisco at the Hilton Hotel and did not return to 9pm. So, it was a very long day. Initially there were issues as we were waiting for someone who was a no show. And on the return trip, I did get a little car sick due to the winding road. There should be more tour guides like Joshua. I did not take Viator Tours because a year earlier on a trip to Monterey I had a bad older man tour guide named Thomas with Viator Tours and I was trying to avoid having him again as a tour guide. I want to say I have taken several Viator Tours at different locations with good tour guides. read more

Avoid this company! Pre paid for tour of Muir woods and wine country . They changed companies providing service the evening before. Email stated NO changes to my schedule or pick up location. After waiting for 10 minutes at designated pick up spot, we recieved an email stating the pickup location had changed to a different hotel that is a 15 minute drive away​. Called for clarification, waiting for call back. We missed the bus and tour. Waiting to see if we get a full refund. Terrible customer service! Terrible communication. We were told the roads are closed due to pride parade, and that's why the bus couldn't pick us up. Pride parade is scheduled a year in advance. We booked a Yosemite trip with a 6:20 AM pickup and, per instructions, arrived early at 5:57 AM. Then we stood there--waiting, with zero communication until 6:42 AM, when we were finally told the trip was canceled due to weather. Let's be clear: the weather wasn't a surprise. Rain had been forecast for days. The only surprise was this company's complete failure to plan or communicate. There was no advance notice, no courtesy update, and no way to reach an actual person that morning despite multiple attempts. Canceling a trip is understandable. Leaving customers stranded early in the morning with no information and no support is not. This was disorganized, unprofessional and frankly inexcusable. We ended up booking with another company. I highly recommend the Muir Woods and Sausalito tour. I loved the majesty of the redwoods - absolutely spectacular! And Sausalito was an interesting contrast with mostly man-made sights like the harbor, a sea of boats, restaurants, quaint shops, galleries, homes perched precariously on hills, etc. It was nice to not have to deal with logistics - navigating/driving, making reservations, finding parking. First and foremost, if you take anything from these reviews, this isn't a "Tour" Company like advertised, its a shuttle service. They pick you up, and drop you off. In the case of Muir woods, they aren't actually even allowed to give tours! We had a good time, but the only credit I can give to them is picking us up and dropping us off so we didn't have to drive. You're essentially paying for a shuttle and the admission, which for us worked out, but don't expect an actual tour. I booked the half day trip to Muir woods and honestly, it was pretty nice! The trip was the perfect length, we got there and back smoothly, and Muir woods was absolutely beautiful! If you're in SF and need to get out for a few hours, this was worth it!! Our guide was very polite and fairly knowledgeable though a little more information about the GG Bridge or Muir woods would of been great. Everything about SF has been great when dealing with Covid, however there was a passenger in our van that didn't wear his mask during the trip, and I wish the guide would of said anything at all about it. The 3/5 rating is for not enforcing the masking in the small van mostly, though I do wish there would of been more commentary about things we were seeing too. read more

I wasn't sure if paying for a guided camping tour would be worth it, but it definitely was and I would recommend using Incredible Adventures to do it! As a parent, I was so relieved and grateful that I didn't have to plan anything out, the food or things to do, and I finally got to enjoy the experience along with my kids. Our guide was Sam and he was soo awesome! He was a huge reason it was so successful. Sam was patient with us during the more difficult hike, knowledgeable, kind, passionate about his job, and very organized. I only have 5,000 words? I could write an entire novel about how incredible this experience was. I did the three day hiking/camping adventure in Yosemite. Five stars isn't enough, this trip was truly amazing from start to finish. This is the best way to see Yosemite, especially if you are traveling solo and only have a limited time to visit. Three days is really only enough time for a taste of Yosemite, going with this group was the perfect way to maximize every minute. I'm not an "outdoorsy" gal by nature. The only time I have ever been camping was at a music festival. When I was looking for things to do in California following a work conference in SF, Yosemite just kept calling my name. I booked with Incredible Adventures, because it was much cheaper and safer than trying to plan a solo adventure. We had nine people on our trip, plus our guide Rourke. There was one couple, but the rest of us were solo travelers all from different countries. Rourke told us that his last groups have had more families, so the mix of your group really just depends on the week you sign up for. Our first and last days were a lot of driving, but we made several stops that helped pass the time. It was so great that Rourke had freedom to set our schedule so we never felt rushed and we could alter our plans in the moment based on the vibe of the group. My group always chose the more "adventurous" option presented to us and never regretted our decision. The hikes we did were Mariposa Grove, Cathedral Lakes, and the Mist Trail (came down on the JMT). This trip can cater to a pretty wide variety of ages. I do advise that you are fit enough to hike 9-10miles. Most of us were novice to intermediate hikers in our late 20s-early 30s. We also had two experienced hikers in their late 40s/early 50s. I was thankful to be in shape enough to enjoy the experience and to have the energy to keep going with another challenging hike the next day. About the camping- if you are imagining a pitch black site in the woods, you might be a little disappointed to know that you are in a camping space shared with an RV park. The night sky was still "ooh and ahh" worthy, but the overhead lights around the lot make it difficult for your eyes to really adjust to get the ultimate night sky experience. The tradeoff to not having the dazzling night sky, was having access to plumbing and HOT showers with pretty great water pressure. I'll take it! A hotel was just a short walk from our campsite. It had a gift shop with snacks, a restaurant, and a pool that we could use. We all got our souvenirs from this gift shop and ate at the restaurant one night. I preferred the chicken tacos we cooked together over the restaurant meal. Most of us shared a tent with one other person. We were given the option to pitch more tents for our group if anyone wanted a solo tent, but we declined and just picked a roommate. Since it is a shared campsite there is the potential for it to be pretty noisy depending on your neighbors. The first night we were next to a rowdy bunch which made it hard for me to go to sleep. Talking to others in our group, I was the only one that had any issues falling asleep with their noise. Since this was my first time camping I expected it to be difficult to fall asleep. If you are a light sleeper like me you may want earplugs. A few things that I recommend to enhance your experience- + Get to know the people in your group. Don't be shy! My trip was even more enjoyable getting to make international friendships as we helped each other around camp and explored the wilderness together. + Bring a large water bottle or even better a camelback. I had an 84oz camelback inside of my backpack. That was more than enough each day. You will want at least 2L, you can't refill mid-hike. + Use a backpack large enough to carry Tupperware containing your sandwich for lunch, sun screen, bug spray, possibly a light jacket, and anything else you think you might need for a 4-6 hour hike. + Bring serious bug spray. The hike to Cathedral Lakes was incredible, but it would have been unbearable without bug spray. (Sunscreen too) + Don't expect cell phone service, you will be disappointed. Plan ahead and embrace your time screen-free. + Take a book or other screen-free car entertainment. + Bring a battery pack. There is a USB charger in the van, but that's it for your charging options. + Ask questions! Without having the ability to Google every question that popped in our head, we really put Rourke to the test! His knowledge was incredible and he constantly provided trivia that we wouldn't have even known to ask about. Again, hands down one of the coolest adventures I've ever been on. I absolutely recommend this trip to anyone looking to see Yosemite with only a few days to do it. Our guide was incredible, the trip was well organized without being overly planned. Oh, and Yosemite in person is better than any picture you've seen. You've just gotta experience it. read more

My husband and I did the 2 day tour to Yosemite with Incredible Adventures (via Viator). The trip was exactly as described. There were only 4 of us on the tour so it was very casual. James was our driver/guide and provided us options on what we could do for the two days. We stopped at a grocery on the way to buy lunch and snack supplies and did the same on the return trip. I felt like we had plenty of time to see what we wanted and did a few hikes, but if you're a hard core hiker you would probably need more time in the park. Overall, it was a great experience! On the plus side, our driver Buck got us into Yosemite & we saw many amazing sights. The granite formations topped the list. We also enjoyed seeing the various waterfalls & the sequoias & the river. On the negative side, Buck was terrible when it came to communicating with us or providing anything close to service. We have traveled all over the world & have had dozens of guides & tour directors. Our "guide" for Incredible Adventures ranks among the worst. The even bigger problem was with the motel we were placed in. The next morning after sleeping there, my stomach & back & neck were all covered in bites. 50 bites in all! When we got to San Francisco, I went to a doctor & he diagnosed the problem as bed bugs. He gave me 3 medications to use. This incident had major repercussions on our vacation. Not only did I have to apply antiseptic cream twice a day, but I wasn't able to enjoy the trip because of the constant itching. read more

We had a great time on our Incredible Adventures Muir Woods and Sonoma tour! Our tour guide/driver Aaron was incredibly knowledgeable and made the experience. We really enjoyed spending the day with him, learning lots of interesting info about the places we visited and things along the route. We were the only couple on this tour because the others canceled last-minute. We started in SF at around 8:10am and did a quick stop at the Golden Gate Bridge. Then to Muir Woods, followed by Robledo Winery. Both stops were totally awesome! We've been to about 6 wineries in Sonoma, and Robledo is now our favorite. We stopped for lunch in Sonoma Square (we recommend Hare & the Hatter Sausage Emporium), then went to Homewood winery and finished with beer at Carneros Brewing Company. Homewood was very good, and Carneros was just okay (we are beer snobs). We returned to SF at around 6:15pm. This was the first tour of this kind that we've been on. Definitely worth a little splurge - it was nice not to have to plan anything for a day, and of course having a DD for wine tastings is always a good thing. We really recommend this tour!! read more

What an incredible 2-Day adventure!! Jud was our guide, host, trip conversationalist , and intermittent comedy relief! Even as local SF residents, Jud shared some very insightful commentary about the city and region. We made stops along the way checking to ensure each passenger was comfortable throughout the trip. Once we reached Yosemite, Jud took us all out on hikes and shared his knowledge and experience of the park and stories along the way. We were encouraged by Jud to watch the movie Free Solo which we did immediately when we got home :). Jud ensured each individual party had what they needed including checking us all into our rooms without any hassle. We did the trip to Muir Woods with Parker. He was so informative as went out of the city and toward the forest. Really seemed to be able to gauge the audience to see when to talk and when to not. He played a great podcast for us. Only suggestion would be to stop at the two lookouts along the winding road. Would have loved some good photos there. read more

We're from SoCal on a short, turnaround trip and decided to do a quick tour of the Bay Area: Muir Woods (oldest/tallest trees) and wine country (Sonoma & Napa). Eileen was our, homegrown, local and awesomely energetic/informative Tour Guide; Sam was her trainee. We were picked up at the RIU Hotel by the Piers in a 15-passenger van (and the only reason why I didn't give a 5-Star rating as I would have preferred a Sprinter Van ;) We visited 2 wineries, which included wine tastings - and loved the art-gallery tasting room of Ru Vango (the paintings were AMAZING!!!). Highlights were getting to know Eileen & Sam, and meeting the new visitors (from all over the world: Japan, Singapore, Bulgaria, Egypt, Chicago, etc). I left/lost my favorite sport/head cap and they actually found, saved, and shipped it back for me (reasonably, at my cost). I would highly recommend Eileen, and would do it again with Family & Friends. Hassle free, relaxing, and highly informative. We got a call the night before our tour telling us that they didn't have enough people booked for our tour, so they were going to try and move us over to one of their competitor's tours. Another 30 minutes go by and they call us back saying that because we hadn't seen the email they had sent us (on 5 pm on a Sunday while on vacation), that they had to cancel our tour since there wasn't anymore room on other tours. Totally blamed it on us. What made it worse was this tour was scheduled for Valentine's Day, and it was our last day of vacation. We couldn't plan anything for later in the week, so we really wish they would've cancelled the trip sooner so we could've found new plans earlier. Luckily our wonderful hotel recommended going with Tower Tours and they took us to the Muir Woods on same day notice. Highly recommend using that company rather than Incredible Adventures. read more

My friend and I took one day tour to Yosemite this summer (late August). It was so beautiful but we would recommend to stay there longer than one day. We had 2 and a half hour to walk around but it was not enough to take any major trail. This is what you should consider beforw taking any tour: Summer might be too dry that many water falls and lakes dry up. I mentioned above that you should stay there more than one day. You can buy lunch and quick dinner at super market that guide will take you. Its cheap and good. Sit on the RIGHT of the bus, you will get a better sleep there since the sun wont shine directly into your eyes. Consider taking a blind fold. Dont expect too much if you go one day. Taking bike is a also a very good option. You can explore more in shorter time span. read more

We did the Muir Woods, Napa, and Sonoma tour, and had a great time with Eileen as our guide! She picked us up right at our hotel which was so convenient. Throughout the tour, she was very personable with our group and knowledgeable about the sites, sharing many interesting facts and stories along the way which made the trip extra fun and memorable. She went above and beyond to ensure that everyone on the tour felt valued by showing interest in where we were from and even playing music based on our different countries as we traveled which was really fun and thoughtful. She was always a step ahead to ensure that things went smoothly for us, such as doing the better scenic stop at the end of the tour for the Golden Gate since it wasn't quite open in the morning, and was willing to answer any questions and offer additional assistance even after the tour if we had questions while still in the city! She was always willing to take pictures for everyone too and seemed happy to do so. We were truly impressed by her and pleasantly surprised by all the care and attention we received! read more

For my last day in CA I wanted to spend it exploring Muir Woods and Sausalito. Having booked with GetYourGuide in the past I called them to confirm the details (their page listed 2 similar tours with this itinerary, different prices and different pickup points) and was reassured that both are good and guaranteed tours, no minimum participation required (there was 2 in my party). I purchased the more expensive 5-hr tour not knowing the local operator was Incredible Adventures. They cancelled my tour last minute. I understand cancellations for safety reasons but because no one else wanted their tour?! Especially since having done my due diligence to pre-confirm that it's guaranteed?! They arranged an alternative tour for me but not after a lot of stress and trouble with pickup mixups, but ultimately it was also the WRONG TOUR they sent us to. This company is a joke, make sure you read the other reviews and save yourself from their incompetence and unreliability. read more

This Silicon Valley tour was going to be the highlight of our trip, what a total disappointment. The guide was friendly, but I expected we'd learn at least a little something along the way. We were on a trip with trainees who did not yield their seats to guests, so guests were in the last row of the bus, with a sliver of a view. On the last leg, one of the more mature trainees finally offered her seat. Unless you're keen on visiting the Apple visitors center (aka store) and Google store, skip this trip. I love these guys. So much, in fact, that i've done the wine country/muir woods tour twice. The drivers are awesome, it's a small group in a van together, and they will never do the same tour twice...in other words, on the wine tour you will never go to the same winery as before...and if you've never been on one of their tours, you will be guaranteed to find a new winery that you absolutely LOVE. I've never taken any of their other tours but i definietly will the next time i need to take some company out. Yeah, you may think "i'm a local, why would i take a tour?" maybe. i may not take any of the other tours, i may just drive them myself...but the wine tour...i could never ask for a better designated driver. on my last tour i took a friend who had come to visit me from indiana. the weather was awful (holy muddy muir woods) but it was an absolutely amazing trip. there were 4 couples in the van with us two girls and we chatted with each couple separately at each winery. very low-key, very quiet migling. by the end of the day (pick up at 8am, drop off at 8 pm...) we were all riding back from sonoma singing songs, telling stories and having a rip roaring good time. the dynamic of these tours is definitely because of the awesome drivers (who know everything about the area, the wineries, muir woods, and are also super chill), the great company, and the cozy number of people. Took a tour in January 2017 and was promptly picked up from the St. Regis hotel within the time interval which was specified. Tour guide kept us entertained with fun facts and knowledge throughout the trip and suggested hikes for the more athletic among us to go on when we arrived at Yosemite. My partner and I spent a steep $156 for the Muir Woods/Sonoma wine tour and were less than impressed to say the least. First of all, our driver named Tom was late picking us up at our hotel to begin the nightmare. Then, we were promised a trip to Muir Woods per the website for Bay City Tours that would last until noon; however, we were advised by our driver Tom to be back to our van by 11 am and make sure we eat something as we will be visiting 3 wineries in Sonoma County. We felt rushed and were unable to cover at least half of the trails while at Muir Woods, and we were disappointed in the promise that was made to stay until noon, and felt we had to gobble down a cheese sandwich in order to return to the bus by 11 am, but we arrived on time. After visiting the first winery, we returned to our shuttle promptly and actually were first to return to the van. Then, at the second winery held in the Sonoma square, Tom pulled into a parking lot and advised we had "an hour or so" to return to the van by 2:10 pm. The time was just after 1 pm. We visited two wineries, within the large square, and then realized it was about 10 after 2 pm, and were only halfway through sampling 3 out of 6 wines. My partner said she remembers Tom stating he was laid back and casual, and give or take 15 or so minutes, he would be fine with waiting for anyone, especially since we had returned early on the previous tours. However, it was not the case this time. We returned to the parking lot and were appalled when the van had already left for the next winery. A woman asked if we were on the Incredible Adventures tour and said they had just left 10 minutes before, not half hour or "so" before, but 10 minutes. I promptly called the company and complained to Kyle who also had previously called me three days before the tour to ask if we dont mind picking another day to take this horrible tour, to which I replied, we could not as that is the only day we had available. Kyle stated he would call Tom and call us back. He also already knew we had been left there in an unfamiliar place and said he would talk to Tom as this type of thing has never happened before, and have him pick us up within 15 minutes. Tom arrived 20 minutes later, and acted like nothing was wrong. We went to the next winery, and got back to the van early once again, and were amazed at what happened next! Tom, did a special favor for a tourist (a cute, young woman from Boston) by taking her back to the original winery and leaving 10 or so people at the previous winery while we were in the van. I couldnt believe my eyes! This man who left us did a special favor for a woman who should have purchased wine while at the winery we had already visited, while leaving everyone else behind. I would NEVER EVER recommend this company to anyone. The only reason I gave this company even one star was due to the wineries we visited. The people who served us were knowledgeable, friendly, and had acknowledged our grief and horrible way we had been treated by saying this type of thing had never happened before. Considering this tour was our first wine tour, it definitely left a bad taste in our mouth for wine tasting with this company. Our stay in San Francisco was awesome, but I would never recommend this company! We didnt get as much as an apology for our horrible, and very rude way we were treated!! We also have been treated very very well and homophobia has not been an issue given all of the places we have visited while in San Francisco. All I can say is, our adventure was incredible allright, incredibly homophobic and disrespectful. read more

I did the One Day Tour to Yosemite. Everything went as described. Chris, our guide, was awesome and very knowledgeable! My respect, driving, talking and keeping everybody at good mood over the whole 9 hours of pure travelling. The weather was great, the time was just enough to go by bus to mirror lake stop, walk straight to the lake and all the way back to the bus enjoying the scenery. The only aspect that could be enhanced is the point for the interim stop ("fruit stand"). I would rather stop at a real farm stand instead of a small town supermarket. There were lots of them along the road even showing toilet signs. The fresh fruits looked juicy and tasty. All in all, I can recommend this tour, especially when travelling alone or having little time, although the price is quite high. read more

The places we were taken to we just awesome, and we were really able to make the most of the short time there. We did quite a few walks, and one big hike that was a path less travelled, which made for a wonderful day out without having to battle the crowds. Highly highly recommended. read more
