I never write reviews, but this company was so outstanding I had to give credit where credit is due. I was very fearful about the expense of getting new field lines, and other companies had warned me that if the gas line was in the way, the price could jump over a thousand dollars more. My heart sank when the gas company came out yesterday and indicated that the gas line crossed the yard at a diagonal, as it would complicate the process. I was extremely stressed. Mark Whitman and his team arrived at my house promptly this morning. They did everything perfectly, they were even careful with my flower garden! They started at 8:00 a.m.; the Health Department inspector came and approved the job by 2:00 p.m. They covered up the ditches; spread out the soil, grass seed, and hay, and before I knew it, they were done! Truthfully, they are no more expensive than their competitors because everything is included. They didn't try to sell me anything additional, or charge me for crossing the gas line. As it turned out, none of the additional charges the other contractors claimed were necessary were even required. In the beginning, Mark told me there would be no extra charges for anything, and he kept his word!! I cannot recommend this company highly enough.

When they identify another costly issue which may cause problems down the line, such as a partial failure in a septic field, they don't turn the appointment into an aggressive sales job, rather just offering an honest assessment of where things currently stand and the problems which could arise without action. They may not advertise on every billboard and sports field in the community like some of their competitors but, to me, relying on word of mouth for business is something only a company confident in their product or service can pull off. I received a call from the technician, on-site, to find out they were going to charge me another $400 to dig up the tank. Keep in mind the original quote was for $325. They ended up charging $450 more to dig up the lid. They were using a mini-excavator so the work was simple and there should have been a minimal up-charge, at best. The technician was very nice and easy to deal with, but the company policy for pricing that type of work is ridiculous. We've used Skyline a good bit in the past, even for drain field lines on another property but will NOT use them again. They have been bought out by a larger company and don't have reasonable prices any more. I felt over a barrel and taken advantage of to do the work. The company that bought Skyline has also bought Hamby's Septic, another once very good septic company. Buyer beware!

So I call Pike Plumbing and about 30 minutes later not only did Mr. Pike call us he has someone on the way. They're a family owned and operated business that has the best customer service, and pricing you'll ever find. They've done everything from emergency repairs, to putting in a sink or a toilet for us. The prices are so reasonable that when I think I want to do some plumbing work at my house I always remember Kenny and his crews and think to myself "self what are you thinking?"
