Great food, and friendly staff. We've had take-out from here several times, and it's always delicious. The portions aren't as big as the old take-out Indian place in Plainfield (Favorite Indian Cuisine,) but it's still enough for two people to split. Naan is great. The tamarind chutney is a little watery in consistency, but has good flavor. The Chicken tikka masala is great, for a go-to fav. The Mutter Paneer is my favorite, with plenty of paneer and a great spice blend. The Veggie Pakora is another must have, in my opinion. So good! I hope this place does well! Good food, tasty, seasoned right and a good selection. Did the pick 5 for lunch. Liked the tandoori chicken, chicken masala, and the goat. Nice warm bread to sole up the sauces and meat. Only sub par food was the veggie curry - not at proper serving temp (a bit cool and watery). I will be back and recommend the place without reservation. I'd not mind the tray either. read more

Stopped in for the first time last night after seeing their reviews on Yelp. Very nice atmosphere, clean and the staff was very friendly. Met us at the counter to order, let us sit while we decided on what to order. We ended up ordering the chicken tikka masala and another chicken dish that was served with onions and spicy potatoes with naan bread. It was delicious! We loved both dishes! Very flavorful, great spice, fresh bread. Very pleased with everything and will be back many times in the near future! read more

This restaurant is one of my favorite reasons for going to Plainfield. I think they are going for a "fusion" vibe (if that's a thing) the decor is very trendy. But the food is excellent, the staff is friendly and helpful and the prices are very reasonable. read more

The very first time I had this place I was not impressed. I ordered the masala, and maybe it was an off day, but I personally feel their masala was overpowered by the cream flavor. I decided to give it another chance and ordered something that didn't have the "creamy sauce" - so I ordered the lamb vindaloo, and it was wonderful! I recently ordered the lamb vindaloo at a different Indian restaurant (with good ratings) in Florida when I visited, and I must say this place in Plainfield is much better. We eat here regularly, because it's the closest restaurant of this type to the area. This is a refreshing deviation from the typical venue that these are known for. You order much like a small take-out Chinese place and sit down wherever you please with nice hot food. They serve cans of drinks or cups of water. Inside it's stylish and clean, and staff is always very friendly and checking in regularly. They really do care about their customers. They are also open to suggestions/requests. We know from other restaurants that we like cumen in the rice, and they are more than happy to add it in for us. We prefer the tikka masala dishes, and they tend to be tasty but slightly less flavorful than others in Greater Indy, almost like the meat is placed in a sauce rather than having flavors baked in, but just guessing here. Spice is very mild. Overall very happy this is here, and we will continue coming. If we find ourselves with time to drive all the way into downtown Indy, there are a couple tastier (although more expensive) options. read more

From dishes like their butter chicken to the curries to the goat dishes, there is something to love. Sauces are always flavorful, creamy, and spiced to your liking! First and foremost, the food here is very good. I'm not at all a fan of some other aspects of this restaurant. I had the all-you-can-eat lunch "buffet" which means you tell the person at the counter what you'd like to eat, and they will dish it up on what appears to be a school lunch tray. Refills would entail going back to the counter and asking for more of whatever it is you want. I do not personally enjoy this system. If I'm at a buffet, I'd like to dish my own portions without the hassle. My other complaint is that the soft drinks are only available in a can, at a full $1.50 each. Some friends suggested we try this new place in Plainfield. The food was excellent. I think it is the best Indian food we have had in the Indianapolis area. The flavors and spice levels were right. They were able to adjust the spice level if you do not like hot food. The staff was helpful. The surroundings were clean and bright. Food was in a very watery sauce. Not much in the way of meat or veggies in any of the dishes. Dessert (Gulab Jamun) was in a watery sauce too instead of honey. Awful. The place was poorly air-conditined. Ice for your water was in a self service bucket with the scoop that everybody touches dropped inside the ice; unsanitary. Stews were not authentic, chutneys not authentic, Golab Jamun was burnt blackish bitter and stale. Totally overrated. And it's not a buffet; you should go to the counter each time and ask for more and receive food in school cafeteria style plastic platters. And they don't take your dirty platters away from your table, you should do it yourself. And they don't even bring a pitcher of water to your table. read more

The chicken tikka masala is what I go for if I need some Indian comfort food. I like to add hot sauce to mine, but they can make it mild as well. The rice pudding makes me happy too. And the owners are always friendly and nice and even remember my favorite dishes. So good and quick too! read more

We stopped here for the lunch buffet for the first time and it was delicious. The employees could tell right away we'd never been before and we're super nice about explaining how it works. I went there the other night to get some Indian food to take home for supper. I ordered the Tandoori chicken. I wanted an order of Gulab Jamun as well but they were out of that product when I ordered. That is why I am giving them 3 stars because they didn't have a product on their menu that I wanted. The decor looked nice and new. The chicken was very good and with the rice it was enough for me to make 3 meals out of it. My wife and I try to get in for lunch or dinner about once a month. We love the place. We were blown away by the modern, hip vibe (including music) when we first went to dinner there, and the service was friendly and good. They have beer, several good Indian beers in fact, which is a plus for us. The food? Everything we've had is excellent! Though I was reminded why I don't care for goat that much. Not the restaurant's fault; goat's just not my thing. But at least I can say I've tried it all! And liked it! read more

Great staff, great food. We found this place when my daughter announced she wanted to become vegetarian. We've liked everything we've tried. Ive never been to India but ive had Indian all over the world and this stands up with the best of them. Everything tastes freshly made. Excellent staples like Tandoori chicken, Tikka Masala and Dal Makhani. Especially good are the Paalak Paneer and off the app menu, Gobhi Manchurian is not to be missed. Even if you HATE cauliflower you'll like that dish. Had the samosas and veggie spring rolls, even the chicken wings. All tasty. This restaurant appeals to me greatly primarily due to the friendly and helpful staff. I am not able to eat the buffet due to diet restrictions, but they help me to order items which they prepare especially for me. They are always concerned to make sure that the food still meets my expectations even though they have to modify it for me. read more

I like the lunch buffet so I can try new foods, but when we order in the evenings I always get the Chicken Tikka Masala. It is wonderful and spiced perfectly. The Bistro Naan is great.
