    3. Paneer TikkaKathi Roll Lunch Special
    Jenny R.

The kathi rolls we tried for lunch were very tasty and stuffed with veggies and paneer. They were so big that we couldn't even finish them. Our server was nice, but service was a bit slow and lacking. The restaurant is clean and has a bunch of small tables.

Small place in a strip mall. The service and food were great. We were driving through town and found it through Yelp. We noticed they also do a brisk carry out business. One serving fed two of us.

The food at Saffron is fantastic! Hands down some of the best Indian food I've ever had. Fresh, flavorful, spicy and delicious. Our dinner club dined tonight. We had reservations in the newly opened restaurant in Zionsville. Our table was ready in their small dining room. The menu is diverse with a great selection of vegetarian options and non-vegetarian. We each ordered an entree and shared a bit. All entrees came with Basmati rice. Portions are generous. The Garlic Naan is incredible. The bread is fresh made and the garlicky buttery spices are fabulous. Best naan ever. I ordered the Bhindi Masala (fried okra with spices) which came with basmati rice. The okra was flavorful with lots of onions, tomato and Indian spices. My husband had the Tandoori Shrimp which was a colorful dish of large flavorful shrimp and a mix of vegetables and spices. The shrimp was a bit spicy hot (which I loved). My favorite dish was the Malai Kofta composed of paneer and potato dumplings in the most delicious creamy spicy cashew sauce. I could eat this all day. The service is friendly and kept water glasses full. The dining room is small - maybe 10 tables that filled quickly. We made reservations. There is no alcohol. Water, sodas and lemonade, lassi and tea. They do a robust carry out. I'm anxious to try everything on the menu.

Good food. Chicken 65 and chicken tikka. Ordered on grub hub and food was ready 10 min after the 10 min window I was given. Delicious. Good service.

Today is July 12th, 2024 and it's the grand opening of Saffron Indian restaurant in Zionsville!! Let me tell you, it's about time!!! We love Indian cuisine and it's finally down the road from our home. So far they don't have alcohol but I'm sure that will change down the road. The food was great!!! We ordered Chicken Korma, Butter Chicken and garlic Nan. We also ordered a coke that was starting to freeze ( kinda nice actually). The Nan was huge and was great for wiping up the delicious curry. The korma was kinda sweet. You could taste hints of raisin in it. The Butter chicken was savory and both dishes soaked up the basmati rice to perfection. They also offer spice levels 1-10, we opted for a 7 but we'll go higher next. I'm definitely returning to Saffron and I wish them all the success for years to come.

    Yummy

So so so yummy. We got samosas, butter chicken, lamb biryani, and garlic naan. It was outstanding. Would reccomend

Walked in and were seated immediately. We ordered chicken biryani, chicken tikki masala and garlic naan. Everything was very flavorful and good portion size. Lacking on decorations but will not stop me from coming back. Next time we will try a few new dishes.

You can smell the curries from the parking lot. Delicious. Located in a little strip mall, this place seems to do a lot of carry out business. However, it is also a rather nice place to dine in. The tables and the settings are really nice. Love the gold 'silver'ware. Your water will always be refilled by the time you're not even halfway through it. The menu is quite extensive with quite a few options I had not seen before. Of course I can't remember the names of most dishes, but let's just say, no one in our group had any complaints. Well, one exception. The side order of pickled veggies was quite overpowering and I don't think most American tastebuds are ready for that. The garlic naan was absolutely delicious, as was the butter chicken and the lamb byriani. I had the chicken appetizer, like fried nuggets but better. Someone had the stuffed potato patties, which I will definitely order next visit. I tried the Gobi Manchurian, which was presented beautifully and was very tasty. Didn't have a whole lot of sauce with it, I would have like more of that so I could cover my rice with it. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are quite generous. Everyone at our table had to take boxes home. What a great little place.

I was very excited for the opening of this new Indian restaurant in Zionsville. The inside of the restaurant is very nice and modern. I loved the marble wall look and the fine dining feel. Their prices are a little higher than most Indian restaurant but I think they are going for a more fine dining Indian so the prices would follow that. There is a lunch special menu which we ordered off of. We ordered the paneer tikka masala and butter naan to go. It did take about 20 minutes for them to make our food but they were very nice while we waited and let us sit at a table and brought us water. The butter naan is the best naan I've very tasted. It was large and warm and very fresh. The paneer tikka masala was delicious. I am looking forward to coming back here again with my husband for a date night.

I looked at the website and was tempted to go. It's really should not be a dine-in place, rather a pickup joint. About 35 seats and that too very congested for people to pass by! TV playing Bollywood numbers just like any other Indian place. More of distraction than ambiance. The other table was so close to ours that it was difficult to enjoy! The food was good, wait staff was trying hard but not up to the service industry standard. I need to try their buffet..

Oh yum! First visit to Saffron and surely not the last. The restaurant itself is quite small, but packed with delicious smells and happy customers. Our party of 5 was seated immediately on a busy Saturday night and service was quick and friendly. Everyone in our group ordered different dishes at different spice levels, and we were all more than satisfied! Even the few of us who were sweating a little were happy about it! The garlic naan was delicious, the appetizer platter excellent, and I ordered their butter chicken, as I've not experienced a lot of Indian cuisine before, and loved it! Will definitely mix it up next time with my choice, and level up the spices. Super excited to be within walking distance of Saffron!

I also love supporting spots like this--it's locally owned by a Hamilton County family, which makes it even better Everything is made fresh daily using authentic cooking methods, and you can truly taste it in every bite. I started with the jalapeño paneer appetizer--creamy, spicy, crispy... honestly addictive. We had the lamb vindaloo and the butter chicken--bold, rich, and perfectly balanced. The vindaloo brought the heat in the best way, and the butter chicken was smooth, comforting, and full of flavor. I love that the menu pulls inspiration from all over India, with tons of options (including vegan), and everything comes out hot and fresh. The dining area is very nicely decorated and very inviting. We were quickly greeted and the waitress answered any questions we had. I did feel that she was trying to hurry us to order though. The only thing I would say is not a positive, the waitress asked us to tip in cash. I understand the reason, but its odd to be requested that. We will definietly be back soon despite that.

If you are reading reviews, ignore older ones as they may apply to an earlier restaurant. I ordered take-out using an online app. Ordering was easy and the food was ready when I arrived. We started with the appetizer platter. Some were better than others, but the point of getting the platter was to see what we liked best. We shared a lamb with chickpea dinner and liked it very much. It came with rice and bread and 3 small portions of toppings. I also ordered the raita and a second kind of bread. One bread would have sufficed. We had a little of everything left over for lunch another day. We'll order from here again.

The menu had a lot of variety including some dishes I hadn't seen elsewhere. I decided to try something new and ordered the Saag Bhartha which is eggplant in the familiar spinach sauce. The eggplant is cooked down so the dish is creamy and rich; it was very flavorful and a spice level of 3 was perfect for me. It had some heat but didn't result in a burning mouth. The garlic naan was delicious and the basmati rice that came with the entree was perfectly cooked. The serving size was very generous and I enjoyed the leftovers for dinner the next night. I definitely want to try more items on their menu and see some takeout orders in my future. Service was good, and the atmosphere was quiet and perfect for catching up with a friend.

My recommendation is to order regular entrees for dinner though. Not sure if it's a different chef or manager during those times but this was my husband's consensus as well. We both have ordered takeout here countless times but decided not to return for the buffet. We like our food hot and fresh and will pay the premium for that in the future.
