I love the vege Samosa. It came with spicy red and mint sauce. I love spicy Briyani but since I am on business trip and I have many meeting that week, I decided to try something non-spicy. Based on the recommendation of a customer, I decided to try the Chicken Fried Rice which according to my standard is just 2 stars and was not that great. This was an awful experience. Walking in, I had to wait for the person at the front to finish typing on her phone to pick up my order. The then continued talking on the phone on loudspeaker the whole time she was serving me. I got the Mysore dosa, and while the filling was decent, the dosa was dry and bland. The chutney and soup it came with we're both quite bland. This is one of my favorite dishes at many other Indian restaurants and I have never eaten such a terrible version of this dish. This is Minnesota's only hole in the wall Indian restaurant. I live right by the joint and I come here regularly for their Chana Batura. The Batura is done so well that I complain to my mom for not making it like theirs. Their Mango lassi is pretty good and everything else on the menu smells great since I always get the Chana Batura when Im there. read more

Food was really good, seemed fresh. We got the chicken tikka masala and Kerala chicken. Both were flavorful. Prices are typical of an Indian restaurant nowadays, maybe cheaper than in a more popular location in uptown or downtown Minneapolis, maybe a little expensive for a strip mall in Bloomington, but the food was good so no complaints. One thing I do say is that the servings of curry are a little on the smaller side compared to other places. read more

Best Indian buffet I have been to in the Twin Cities in the past couple of years. My favorite, a small family-run place near Maple Grove, closed about 10 years ago when the family moved back to India. This is similar, but more hole-in-the wall. Very friendly and personal attention, especially considering I went for the buffet. Amazing assortment of vegetarian and chicken dishes. Much spicier than any of the other Indian restaurants I have been to. Buffet is now around $10, but the food is worth it. I will be going back regularly. NOTE: Space is limited, with only about a dozen tables, so groups larger than 4-6 might be difficult. read more

We came at 1pm & the place was empty. That should have been our first clue to turn around & find somewhere else. Half of the buffet selections were empty and wouldn't be replenished. From the slim pickings that were there, we discovered everything was ice cold. Chilly chicken curry is almost as awful as the liquidy daal they offered. $50 wasted. I have taken out food from here before and it has been good. However yesterday I came here to take a buffet take out, it was close to their closing time, so they had very little food left and that's fine. However I noticed that the food had gone bad too. The egg curry and chicken curry had a slimy texture and it gave off a bad smell too. Also they do not honor the yelp coupon. I had to reach out to yelp to get it refunded. read more

Today was my first and last time here. It's says they open at 11. I came at 11:30, only 5 dishes was ready and no bread. I asked for bread the guy said "5minutes" 10 minutes later I got pancake kind of bread, once I was done eating, they put out the salad and no dressing. Had to ask for it. No water. The service is just horrible. I don't know how they stay in business with this kind of service. Would not recommend this place. I came to minneapolis to visit my fiance and we had a dosa and egg fried rice. Both are really good. Especially egg fried remind me the famous india street food. That taste made to write my first yelp review. But this restaurant ambiance not so great but food is really good. I am going to try the biryani pretty soon. read more

I typically don't like to give negative reviews, especially to small joints, but this place was a true disappointment. I convinced my wife to grab dinner from here instead of another Indian restaurant, and came to find out it was a wrong call plus the $30 I spent... Firstly, there is a foul smell that comes instead of good Indian aroma of spices (maybe that was a sign that the wife is right :) ). Ordered Veg Jalfrezi and Paneer Tikka Masala. All I have to say is, I've frozen food that's better than this. The gravy is totally not authentic, and they seem to use standard curry sauce for all dishes it felt. This is a restaurant serving Indian food made by Indians for Indians. That is also the definition of authentic Indian food! There is nothing pretentious or fancy about this restaurant. This is an unassuming small cafe in an old strip mall. I am traveling here in Bloomington and stopped by this place for dinner. First impressions made me wonder if the food will be good. I ordered Panneer Tikka Masala and Onion Naan. I have had some of the best Indian food around the world and I know what good Indian food is. This Panneer Tikka Masala was perfect. Excellent food + Online Ordering + Pickup/Delivery This is a Yelp find for me. I didn't know anything about this place before I went there except for seeing the sign. I live in the area, it's Saturday night and I want some food. I found the website via Yelp and though I could see the menu options, I couldn't find prices and when I called, I was told there is no delivery available after 9:30p. I've since discovered that by clicking on a link on their website, their entire menu is available online with pricing and the ability to order online and pick up. Ordering online gets big points from me. I know this strip mall. It's got several restaurants and a few stores including an Indian grocer I've shopped at. Across Portland Ave is another Indian market. This makes this place pretty centralized for south-central Asian folks in the south suburbs. The door for the place is a bit hidden behind a pillar, and the windows are curtained, but when I opened the door, I saw the cafe was PACKED with south-central Asian folks. Good sign. There are 10 4-top tables and almost everyone was full 1/2 hour before they were supposed to close. I usually do a buffet at a new place, but I didn't have a chance this time. I ordered some favorites. The food is very good. I didn't order a particular spice level and the way it came was perfect for me. I ordered vegetable samosas, onion naan, raita, and chicken shai korma. I am in love with this korma. Portion sizes are excellent. I highly recommend and I plan to become a regular. Was excited to see a Halal Desi restaurant but experience was simply horrible, it was just one person running the counter and trying to take care of 6 tables. I want to give it 4 stars, but I can't. Partly due to the fact that the food is inconsistent, but it is good. If you're looking for a place that sells dosas, specialty Indian crêpes this is the place! However, the tomato chutney is a little off sometimes, coconut chutney is usually good, and the sambar has been hit or miss. (Items served with the dosa.) Last time I was there it just wasn't good and if I can't finish my sambar that's a problem. (Sambar is a vegetable type soup served with your dosa.) If you're new to trying dosas order a paper one for your initiation to dosas. You will have fun! This is a great vegetarian place and also they offer meat selections, no pork. The owners are Muslims which may be appealing to those who may be looking for halal foods. I use to frequent here an average of 1-3 times a month. I haven't been back in a few months since I wasn't happy with the sambar and my rava masala dosa was subpar. I will still go back because it's the only decent dosa place I know, other than another location further south of the cities. This is a hole in the wall place, located along a strip mall. The decor is stale, lifeless, and a little grungy. It's in a small room, with crammed cafeteria tables and sloppy service. Though I give it 3 stars I still recommend you try it. Don't expect to go because you're wanting great service or a pretty cozy place. Go because you want good Indian food. It's a consistently busy place with patrons from South Asia. Therefore, its gotta be good! I believe they have a lunch buffet throughout the week, but not for dinner. I've never had their buffet, but I heard it was good and cheap.
