It was our son's 19th birthday yesterday, and we told him he could pick anywhere he wanted to go for lunch. He chose Dancing Ganesha in Maple Grove. Indian cuisine isn't something our family is very familiar with, so we really weren't sure what to expect, but he assured us it was phenomenal. My husband has tried curry dishes in the past and has never been a fan, so I looked up the menu in advance and tried to plan out a few things I thought he might like just to be proactive. I'm really glad I did. Their menu includes a variety of dishes we had never even heard of before, and researching it ahead of time really helped me understand the flavor profiles and what to expect. We went with a group of six and decided to sample a variety of dishes. We ordered Vegetable Samosas, Chicken 65, Gobi Manchurian, and Chili Chicken as appetizers. For entrées, we had Chicken Makhani (Butter Chicken), Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Malabar, Chicken Korma, and Chicken Biryani. We asked for a medium spice level on everything. We also shared plain, garlic, and onion naan, along with a side of mango chutney. It gave us a great variety of flavors and was the perfect way to experience Indian cuisine for the first time. The thing that stood out most to me was the freshness of the food and the beautifully balanced flavors in every dish we received. Every time we tried something new, it was like, "Oh my goodness, you have to try this one!" It was so exciting to experience such well-made and delicious food in a way that was completely new to us. My husband even raved about it, which was shocking! The thing that surprised us most was the Gobi Manchurian. Our server told us it was their most popular appetizer, which I found interesting because it's cauliflower-based. It came out looking almost like sweet and sour chicken, and the flavor was spectacular. The medium spice level definitely brought enough heat to leave a little burn in the back of your throat, but it wasn't overwhelming. It balanced perfectly with the seasonings and spices and never overpowered the food. To be honest, we didn't really even know how to eat everything, so we just started piling different dishes onto our plates, mixing and matching sauces and flavors. Somehow, everything complemented each other incredibly well. After we finished our meal, we talked with the staff on our way out. They told us that everything is made from scratch using authentic recipes and fresh ingredients, and you can absolutely taste that level of quality in every dish. Oh yeah, the Mango Lassi drink was out of this world. It was like a creamy mango smoothie that you almost couldn't get enough of. Thinking about that alone makes me want to go back right now. I highly recommend checking it out, whether you already love authentic Indian food or you're simply an adventurous foodie looking for something delicious and surprising. We all left incredibly impressed. Grandma even said she'd be back! Very excited to have leftovers!

One of my favorite go-to places for Chicken Tikka Misala. Their naan, vegetable samosas, and paneer pakoras are all great! Every time I have ordered, it is always packaged well. They wrap the sauce cups for orders, which I appreciate as they can sometimes leak. Ordering online and picking up, ordering on Uber Eats, or ordering on DoorDash works great with this location. I tried the Chicken Tikka dosa once and wasn't a fan of the crepe. I prefer the garlic naan with my chicken Tikka misala as the naan is more sturdy for holding the chicken Tikka misala and it is more likely to arrive warm. When picking up, the location is easy to find and there is plenty of parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Quick process to pick up and inside has appeared clean during my visits.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I hope to try a few other menu options soon, but it's gonna be hard to sway from my favorites.

I absolutely love Indian cuisine and was super excited to give this spot a try based on high recommendations from friends. I was not disappointed! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was recently opened in the last few years and the decor was clean, trendy and quite beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We started with the chicken 65 for our appetizer and it was very flavorful and delicious! I had the goat curry and the bread basket, which came with a variety of naan, garlic naan and deep fried bread. Everything was delicious, full of flavor and spices! Our server was very friendly and helpful. Overall a fantastic experience - I will definitely come again!

    Gobi Manchurian was delicious.

This deserves five stars since its authentic Indian cuisine and the flavors are amazing, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance is nice and it's one of a kind in the suburbs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was very prompt on a Monday night. The Neelgiri with chicken main entree was amazing and the Gobi Manchurian (cauliflower) appetizer was delicious. The Naan is a must order and goes great with entrees. The medium spice level was just right. I am so glad there's another authentic Asian place in the suburbs. Highly recommend!

I have had better Dosa's than the one here at Dancing Ganesh. I am not sure why, but the sambar had a strong smell of turmeric. The gobi Manchurian and dahi puri also didn't meet our expectations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, the service was quick and the ambiance was good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Really great Indian food tailored to your spice preference. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm a huge fan of the gobhi manchurian, veggie pakora, chicken makahnu, Chana masala, chili paneer, the garlic naan and bhatura, and so much more. Try a mango lassi and a chai and the rasmalai or kheer. Nothing here has ever disappointed me, just check and see how many pics are mine.

Need a little more spice in your life. You definitely need to try Dancing Ganesha's. My husband and I started out our lunch with the lamb samosas. They were fantastic! Crunchy on the outside and tasty on the inside. I ordered butter chicken and my husband ordered the chicken tikka Marsala, with a side of white rice, palak paneer with a side of garlic naan. Everything was delicious and fresh. Our server kept our drinks refilled and checked to make sure our experience was going well. All in all, we are a fan of this place.

Loved it. Had the chicken chettinad, garlic naan. Spice level mild was perfect (still had a kick).

Food was great!! Server had given us a great recommendation! Food came out fast and waters were topped off at a timely manner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sad to see it wasn't as busy or full, Tho the ceiling was leaking like a craZy water fall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But will definitely be seeing me back!

Got the Chicken Mahkani (Butter Chicken) this time. Ordered mild+ but should have asked for medium (there was no discernible heat). Naan was delicious and plentiful as usual. Mango lassi was a bit smaller than I expected but tasty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They now have a nice mural I don't remember from last time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Madras curry is spot on, and I can't believe I m saying this but the sambar is better than most South Indian restaurants in Minneapolis area. Hope they keep up with the quality. Ambiance and service were top quality too.

I dislike writing this, but Nope...was here when it was Nalas and back now as it's Butter Chicken…read more Service is poor at best. Food is great and flavorful, but the front of house kills the experience. You'll get better service at Karim's in Old Delhi. Seems same owner group, was really hoping for a better experience. They charge 4% for use of a credit card. In today's experience, we walked in at 1:42. Note I am on crutches and have a large knee brace on. We waited at the cashier stand for 2 minutes. Then a server tired to guide us to a booth. With my knee that is a no go. Had to talk him into placing us at a table. He then can back twice with a pitcher of water (no glasses mind you). Then he asked if we wanted the buffet or al cart. We asked for menus and that seemed to confuse him. Then waited 5 minutes for him to bring out the menus (and he finally brought the glasses for water). We then waited another 17 minutes for him to take our order. Now this would be acceptable if the place was busy. We were one of 5 tables. And all but us were doing the buffet and of the 4 doing the buffet, 3 were done and just conversing. When he did come to take our order he brought the handheld POS, but did not enter anything. Had to come back twice to verify our order. Food was delivered by food runners. Never say our server again until he came and tried to collect the check. Had to ask for water, to go containers and the receipt. He left to grab the containers and then proceeded to hover awaiting for the payment. He almost seemed insistent to take the CC, but I paid cash. As I realize this is a huge overhead for smaller restaurants. But at a 4% charge for using a CC, this is the highest I have seen in the TC area. So pretty sure it not a pass thru of their fees, but a mark up. He also tied to say the cash amount was $30 and the CC amount was $32.56. This latter amount is the tax amount. So actual bill is $32.56. While the food was great, the service will keep us from going back. Which is the same reason we never went back to Nalas.
