I ordered the butter chicken and requested hot sauce on the side. While I was eating, I found a big metal piece in my hot sauce . This is a serious safety issue and could have caused an injury if I had swallowed it. The food itself was okay, but finding metal completely ruined the experience. India Palace is one place where you always can get good, consistent Indian Food. I really liked seeing how this Roseville location operated like a well oiled machine. The servers, hosts, and kitchen were up to speed, efficient, and you can tell everyone knows their role and they do it well! We were there on a weekday evening and they were busy with both dine in and a consistent flow of pick up/ Door Dash orders. It was nice to see a place busy and customers happy and satisfied. We had the dal makhani with garlic naan. We started with the spring roll appetizer with a sweet chili type sauce. The spring rolls are not comparable to the ones we order at Asian restaurants, these were more petite, less filling, yet still bursting with its own kind of flavor. I believe it had a cabbage and corn filling. I would order these again, it's a unique appetizer if you are looking for something different than samosas or pakoras. It's best to visit an India restaurant with an East Indian who can make great suggestions, such as starting with the Mango Puree. Mango and yogurt! Four diners we sampled from each entree such as the chicken, schrimp, vegetable and lamb. Not everyone has tolerance for the same spice level so we picked the mild blend, although I'm sure our Indian friend would prefer the hottest. We had dinner here and the food was poor to average. If you like Costco refrigerated section egg rolls, that is exactly what you get. Ours were even cold in the center. Best Indian Food In Twin Cities Upon walking in you breathe in the wonderful aroma of Indian food and you know you're in for something special. My family and I have been coming here for over 20 years. Mostly we get our food to go, but sometimes we're lucky enough to dine in. It's always a treat. We love the family friendly, come as your are vibe. There's a number of really good vegetarian dishes, and the biryanis are fantastic. We like the samosas for an appetizer. My wife loves the chicken makhani. The chicken tandoori is excellent as well. In 20 years we've never had anything we didn't like. Dishes are big enough to share family style, but the prices are reasonable enough that you'll want to order extra to take home. I have driven around tried many other places but most have felt short. Tonight was a low-key chill night with o e of my friends and after both having a long week, we simply didn't want to gamble with trying something new and being disappointed so we picked a spot that we knew wouldn't disappoint. New Year's Day it's not easy to find places that are open, but IP stuck with its regular hours. This was a lifesaver for me, as I needed to order 3 entrees to be picked up for an early (430 PM) dinner. Staff was very courteous, the dishes were tasty and stayed warm through the five minute drive home. Portions were generous, with (hurrah!) lots of leftovers for the next day. I was a customer from the very beginning, soon after the doors opened. I have seen a steady decline in quality of food, the attentiveness and care of the serving staff, and an increase in prices. I loved their chicken korma, and now I won't order it. It's such a shame because the food used to be so good and I won't return. I've been to this place a couple of times and definitely think you could get better Indian food somewhere else. Definitely NOT authentic Indian food. As someone who loves spicy food- the food is not spicy, we do a 5 for "Indian hot" and am disappointed (they do a scale of 1-5). We ordered the dinner for two (comes with an appetizer, roti or naan, Biryani and dessert). The samosas were average, the chicken and shrimp Biryani was definitely not Biryani- it was more like saggy fried rice with only 2-3 pieces of cut up shrimp and they forgot to give us our dessert. Although they did charge us less for their mistakes- which I appreciated. The lunch buffet is okay for the price (under $15 person) with some options (for vegetarians too, but I wouldn't say so for vegans- many of the dishes uses dairy products and glee). Overall, I found the dishes to be plain, oily and not as full of flavor and spices like Indian food typically is. BUT - less seating, less private seating, narrow seating, and pick up food is now in the back of the restaurant at a worthless bar. Ordered over the phone and picked it up to go approximately 20 minutes later. The menu is extensive and a bit difficult to navigate on the website (especially via mobile) because of all the different categories. There are also no prices listed online which is annoying and ridiculous for a restaurant. I ordered the aloo gobi for myself, chicken tikka masala for my date, garlic naan to share, and raita as a side accompaniment. The aloo gobi was good, not the greatest. At a medium heat level, it packed some flavor and heat but could have overall used more cauliflower as it tasted like mostly potatoes and sauce. My date was decently satisfied with the chicken tikka masala. These came with a large quantity of rice that was more than plenty for both of us and lots leftover. The naan was large and soft and yummy. The raita was highly disappointing. Very thin and watery, and in fact, I question whether this was made properly because it is so different from what I have had at other places countless times or made myself at home. There were hardly any cucumbers, if even any at all, a few carrot shreds, a handful of soggy diced tomatoes, and mostly just a container of runny white sauce. This is not a standard raita and I tried a few watery spoonfuls and was dissatisfied. Overall, a fine meal, but nothing exceptional and prices seemed a bit high for the quantity and quality. For these simple four items, it cost over $40. I would potentially order from here again, but would try different menu options next time. read more

Off the beaten path Customer service lacking Can I get a coke? Luckily, the food was A-OK because the customer service was horrible. Walked in about 1PM on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and there was a large group of people standing in the lobby area. No employee to be seen at the front desk or anywhere to be seen. Stood and waited along with them for several minutes. Apparently, they were getting a table ready for the group. One of the men in the group flagged down one of the waitstaff and said there are other customers waiting to be seated. Can you get a coke? Yes, you can (or a diet one as in my case), but you may have to ask for it three times. First asked the guy who sat me down at the table. Got my first plate of food from the buffet and nearly had it finished before another member of the waitstaff poured me a glass of water. Asked him for a diet coke. Got my second plate and nearly had that finished when the first guy came back and asked me how everything was. Told him a diet coke would be nice. He was very apologetic and brought it out. Guess the third time is the charm. The second guy also came by and apologized. Had one more plate of food before calling it a day. The buffet is not very extensive. Standouts were the chicken curry, the Tandoori murgh, and the vegetable briyani. Really felt like the coke should have been on the house, but they charged me $2.25 for it. In fairness, they were crowded but they should staff appropriately. It was Thunderdome during my first trip to the buffet. Would I go back? Yes, hopefully when there are less people there. Let me preface this by saying the low review is not for the food. The food is good; service was not so much. I have been to this location a few times before but not to eat in. This was actually my fist time eating in. This place was chosen to treat my BFF for her birthday, and I had an Entertainment card/coupon and thought I would be saving 25% off my bill, but that did not go quite as expected. I will elaborate more below. We were promptly seated, but it seemed our server was less than enthused to be there or serve us (or anyone else) in particular. BFF ordered some coffee, but it was like pulling teeth to get her some cream, but eventually, she got it. We decided to order the tandoori chicken meal for two, which included samosas and dessert. I ordered the mango ice cream for dessert but didn't finish it. The samosas were delicious, but the sauce made them even more tasty. The dishes of the main course started to arrive-vegetable curry, rice, and the tandoori. For the most part, everything was flavorful. The curry was a little bland, but not too bad. Leftovers were certainly in effect. The real issue came when it was time to settle the bill. I had an Enertainment coupon that was in the book, which I did not bring; however, I did bring the card that accompanies the book. The server initially told me that they didn't accept any coupon or card from Entertainment at all. It was obvious that he was not being truthful; otherwise, why would India Palace be in the Entertainment book in the first place? I could give the server the BOTD that he was new, but I don't think this was the case, as neither the server nor the manager stated that the server was new and didn't know all the rules. At any rate, the manager had to be summoned, and I was told by the manager that since I didn't have the actual paper coupon that was in the book (which admittedly was my fault for not bringing the book or tearing the coupon out of the book and bringing it with me) and only had the card that I would be able to save only 10%. I was not happy , but it was something. My friend and I decided to split the bill, which, again, was not the original plan. I was not happy at all and we left shortly after the bill was paid. I don't know if that's how they originally operate or if it was an off day, I will not be returning to this particular location anytime soon. read more
