While driving around with my girlfriend, trying to figure out where to grab dinner, I was impressed with the reviews I found on yelp. However, having lived in the NYC/Philly area for the last few years I was skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised to find the best Tiki Masala I believe I've ever tasted. Something about it was particularly flavorful, more so than I'm accustomed to. As often as I frequent my favorite Indian restaurants, it shouldn't be taken lightly. Everything else was as you should expect, the naan was the right consistency and warm, the kheer was sweet. Turned out to be my girlfriend's first time eating Indian food and aside from the kheer, she loved it. I recommended it to my friends, and they loved it too. I'm sure I'll be back soon. read more

The food gets five stars! We got the somosa, pakora, butter chicken, tikka chicken, and garlic naan and mango lassi. Everything was perfect. Wonderful food! Wonderful service. I am giving four stars because I am not used to paying for naan at an Indian restaurant. I think naan should be complimentary and keep coming. Not $4 for four small pieces of naan. (Even though they are incredibly good). It is a bit pricey. If they would give a few little complementary items like naan and maybe something sweet at the end of the meal, they would probably do a lot better business at these prices. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Branson, and definitely one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to. The service is very friendly. The atmosphere is pretty authentic with some awesome Bollywood films showing. The naan is also great because of the clay oven. WOW! This place has some of the Indian Restaurant food I have ever have encountered. Somehow their tandoori chicken is moist and not dry. We ordered all drumsticks and they were perfect. All of our dishes were excellent with very unique flavor and every bite was delicious. We all over ate because it was so good. I woupd recommend this place to anyone who likes Indian good and anyone who wants to experience a wonderful sensation of unique flavors and spices. The staff was very nice and genuinely friendly. My wife and I just moved to Branson area from Dallas and were so excited about having a local Indian restaurant near by. After talking to locals that had said it was good. We decided to visit Clay Oven a couple weeks ago and we were so very disappointed in the quality and authenticity of the restaurant. It tasted like fast food Indian. We were skeptical to have Indian food in Branson but so glad we did! I've eaten Indian all over the country and it was authentic and delicious. The choices in naan were fantastic. The restaurant is small so for large parties you might call ahead. We were nervous when we walked in with three kids but they were so nice and accommodating. They even recommended the cheese naan and told them it was like cheese pizza. They fell for it and two out of three kids chowed down. This is some of the tastiest Indian cuisine I've had! The owners are great. There isn't a kids' menu but my kids love the cheese naan and tomato soup and will sample from mom and dad. I love that the chicken entrees are served with big hunks of breast meat. The vegan and vegetarian selections are great, too. There are so few healthy selections in Branson, so this is a go-to for our family for a change in the heavy meals. We love it!! read more

The absolute best Indian food I've ever had and I'm from NYC and I've tried a lot of places. Uncle was so nice too. The chicken Tikka masala was amazing. The curry was so creamy and hearty and the meat was so tender. The lamb biryani was also very good and the meat was so tender and flavorful. The garlic Naan was fluffy and huge! This is a great place to go if you want a mix of spicy and mild Indian Cuisine! I'm not a fan of spicy food so I tend to be leery to try new Indian Restaurants. However, Yelp didn't steer me wrong, yet again! Buffet style with many choices...chicken, beef, fish, vegetarian. A great variety of dishes to try. They also had a mango yogurt drink they they highly recommended. Of all the things we tried, the mango drink would be the only thing I don't recommend. We will definitely be back! read more

Every time I come to Branson I want to come here but never get the chance. I am glad I finally made it happen :) The Vegetable Pakora is my favorite thing here which is somewhat of an appetizer or side and is what appears to be spinach, onion, potatoes, etc. fried in a thin batter. The flavor is to die for and I could eat 50 of these. I really enjoyed the Channa Masala which is Chickpeas in Masala Sauce. If you are a carnivore I am sure anything cooked with this Masala Sauce is wonderful. Finally, the Rice Pudding or Kheer, AMAZING. You can not leave this place without finishing your meal with this sweet and cool desert. I will be back as often as I can! The service and the food was fabulous! Split the butter chicken and an appetizer because prices are slightly high for the portion size. We love this place because it has great flavor and it's different than anything else in the area. You will not be disappointed in the service. It will honestly feel like you're fine dining by the way they treat you. During the busy season (summer and fall) they should have the lunch buffet which is just a dream come true. I rarely post but was so blown away with the customer service I plan to come back on my next trip to Branson and hope you give it a try. The entire staff paid incredibly close attention to detail including noticing a potential stain on a plate before I did and immediately trading out plates. They had great recommendations for dishes based on our it preferences and they absolutely nailed it. The food was delicious (I had the chicken tandoori). If it weren't for being so overpriced for what it was, I'd give this 3 stars, but that pushed me over the edge. It wasn't spicy, which was a plus for me. The food tasted fine, nothing special; I've had better Indian buffets back home in St. Louis. On top of the small selection, some of the dishes tasted the same. It was difficult to find any chicken in the chicken tikka masala. What was striking was the size of the buffet--very small, not a ton of selection and no good desserts like most other Indian buffets have. This would be fine if the price fit the selection and taste, but it was about $12 each. For $12, there should be twice the selection, minimum. Waiter sat us right away, filled our glasses, and refilled them as needed. Got our bill and paid at the host/cashier podium. No complaints about the building, ambiance, or management. When I looked at reviews of places to eat in Branson, being a visitor, I was surprised at how many restaurants were 4+ stars. I wasn't sure if that indicated great restaurants or low standards, but I gave them a shot. After three restaurants, I've determined most people who rate Branson restaurants--whether they are residents or tourists--have low standards, and I wouldn't say mine are particularly high. Fabulous experience! We were there on a Sunday night...restaurant was about 75% full, which was encouraging. Our server was SUPER-friendly, and very helpful and attentive. A couple of us had lamb dishes, and one had the tandoori mixed grill. We ordered a couple of extra types of naan (the mixed grill dish came with butter naan, so we also ordered garlic and spinach), and received basmati rice with our other dishes.
