First of three servings.

I settled for the buffet after playing tennis. For $22 all you can eat buffet. Since I've never shied away from food I had three helpings. I was one happy camper. I didn't bother in trying to remember what I ate but it was good! Service was alright. Pretty quiet restaurant situated across the street from Grocery Outlet. Well worth going back to.

Hands down one of the best Indian buffets around. After 20+ years still has the best naan, tandoori chicken and goat curry. Favorites are spinach and cauliflower but call ahead as they don't have it everyday. Pretty and new layout with silver serving dishes and soft serve machine for dessert. Service is great, hostess is always friendly and place is always busy. Lunch closes at 2pm. Friendly ambiance like you're at an old friend's house.

Came here recently twice and both for the buffet! A little pricey but the selection is great. The food is always good here, I love all the selections of curry and the naan. The serve yourself chai is delicious as well! There's parking in the back.

Spicy Lentil Soup

First time at India Palace and it was a comforting Indian food that hits the spot. I had the chicken basmati rice, lamb palak, and Mulligatawny soup -- all warm, flavorful, and well-spiced without going overboard. The lamb palak was rich and savory, the rice was fragrant and fluffy. The spiced lentil soup was smooth, but I preferred one with more texture. I ended up eating it as a curry over the rice the next day. Solid portions, friendly service, and an easy place to come back to when you want something comforting.

I went to the buffet and it was good! The butter chicken was my favorite. My mom loved the goat. Everything was good! There is chai tea too! Perfect for a cold day at the buffet. The ice cream tasted like vanilla pudding which I liked. Their watermelon was super sweet. Staff is nice for the most part.

Lamb Pasanda Lamb Palak Garlic Naan

So delicious! The staff was very nice and our food came out super quick. Everything was so flavorful and the lamb was very tender. The restaurant was very nice and had a good atmosphere. Definitely would go again.

Yummiest palak paneer

It has been a long while, like 5 yrs I hadn't gone here. I went for buffet but it wasn't the day. Ordered what I wanted and yum! Still the same quality and yumminess. Was served fast and fresh! Loved my palak paneer. Thank you to the amazing lady who understood my time limitation. I am glad they are still open. The Indian music ( one of fav songs was playing) added to the greatness of the did.

There aren't a lot of good Indian restaurants in the area, but I did like I did Palace. Staff and Service: - We came here soon after opening time on a Thursday evening and got seated right away. Seats started to fill up around 6:00pm - Our server was very nice Food and Drinks: - Mango Lassi: not the typical mango lassi I've had in the past. Not as creamy as usual - more on the tart side. - Tikka Masala Curry: so good! Creamy, flavorful, abundant, etc. I could have eaten this whole thing by myself - Garlic Naan: also delicious and flavorful - House Salad: this was almost a meal in itself. We thought this would be a small side salad, but there was enough for 3+ people Miscellaneous. - Parking is available via street parking (there is a parking lot connected to the restaurant, but this is for the apartments only) - Good for small and large groups - Pretty quiet restaurant

Vegetable Samosa...a must!

My last visit was during Covid, outside dinning... This time, I ordered Vegetable Samosa, Malai Kofta, Bhindi Malasa with Basmati Safron Rice and Tandoori Roti. I got hungry, lol. Everything on the menu looks sooo good. All dishes are delicious!! The samosa are always tasty, especially the refreshing cilantro sauce....yummy! The waitress is so courteous & friendly. Great experience & lots of left over. Will be back again for Masala Tea! ** Tips: Buffet is on Wed-Sat from 11:00am to 2:00pm (subject to change)

Service - 5/5 Ambiance - 5/5 Food - 5/5 I've always passed this restaurant but finally had the chance to try it and was pleasantly impressed! I don't eat Indian cuisine often but my fiancé loves it. We both agreed this was one of the best Indian restaurants we've had. Garlic Naan - butter garlic and bread? Delicious Vegetable Samosa - so good especially with the sauces. Would definitely order again. Chicken Biryani - this had amazing flavor and was a big portion size! We had leftovers for the next day. Tandoori Mix Grill - wow! So good. This came out sizzling and was a mix of lamb, chicken, beef and shrimp. So good with our rice.

Found this spot while looking for an Indian food spot near the Oakland airport and found the food here pretty decent. Really liked their tea and samosa and the chicken tikka masala, naan and Chana masala were pretty decent too. Service was quick and the place has plenty of both indoor and outdoor dining.

We came on Mother's Day, so take that for what it is. We were seated pretty quickly, given our menus, and then I think our server forgot about us. She came back eventually and took our order. Our food came sans naan. My daughter wanted to take her aesthetic photo so she was waiting for the naan before eating. Probably 10 minutes later, a male, not our server said "oh! The bread!" Came back a few minutes later with the naan. The food was decent. I will say the sauce for the tikka misala was a bit more thin than I was expecting. But flavor was still fine. I guess the male server guy was trying to make it up to us because he brought us a couple desserts with the check. The table behind us, it was a guy and his mom, he had asked probably 3 times for some bread or something because his mom was diabetic and wasn't feeling that great. It had been about 15-20 minutes and no one brought them anything. I asked again for them when we were leaving. I felt bad for them. Im not sure if they were short staffed, or if they aren't used to it being so busy because of Mother's Day. But, hopefully the service is better normally.

Ask the Community - India Palace

A lot of restaurants are offering buffet again. Is your buffet back?

I called them about this today -- they've brought back the lunch buffet on Thurs, Fri, and Sat only. $21.99 per person.

Do you offer buffet at dinner?

I don't think they are offering any buffet these days, due to Covid. I was there a month or so ago and they were not offering buffet lunch. You could always call to be sure.

I've been here for several years now, and love the food but have always wondered, is this considered North Indian or South Indian cuisine?

I would say India Palace serves food that is more South Indian. Actually, it is Indian food designed for the American palate. It is delicious, nonetheless. Enjoy!

Is lunch buffet open?

No more Buffet sir

Lunch buffet open?

Not yet dear

Do you serve halal meat? If so, what is halal?

No halal meat. You can have vegetarian or fish.

Lunch buffet back on Saturdays?

Do they do indoor seating now? Do they still do the lunch buffet?

Is the meat halal or not like the chicken or the beef?

No, not halal

Is the lunch buffet served 6 days a week?

Yes

What is the lunch buffet hours?

11 AM to 2PM

I remember old tiki bars back in the day in the 50s when I first remembered hearing about him and the 60s when they were still popular. But as time went on and people change, they kind of disappeared, but this one popped up. And I'm so glad it did because it brought back fond memories of what it used to be. When you walk into the place, it's unlike anybody you're gonna walk into there are one dollar bill stuck to every square inch of the ceiling. Smoking is only allowed outside, so the room was pretty clear because as you walk in it is small, but there's plenty of room at the bar and there are a couple little hutches that you can sit in as well as an area around the corner, but the big surprise is outside. When we walked outside, there was like a 10 foot tiki head out there and it was a flash throwback to the old days. It was so much fun to see. The bar serves drinks that are long forgotten and most bars, and they served them with flair. Everybody from the minute I walked in the front door was awesome. They were smiling, attentive, helpful, and making sure that you got exactly what you wanted and the perfect experience. I even had a moment to talk to the owner and tell him how impressed I was by the staff and the fun that the place brought. I would say I will absolutely be glad to return to this place anytime. The quality that drinks is absolutely five star. The flavors were spot on. And the throwback atmosphere was perfect. I strongly recommended for anybody that wants to go out for an evening of fun and frolic. When they close the back where the outdoor seating is a little bit earlier than the regular bar hours it does get a bit crowded on the inside because so many people are there that you didn't see originally. But that didn't change it. We still had maximum fun.

Tl;dr - A true beer garden ala Texas/Midwest, with the food, beer, and relaxed summer vibes you all…read moredream of. There's something for the whole family aside from some truly tasty beers. I've been coming here for awhile, ever since one fine afternoon I was in town on business and was feeling a need for craft beer. I was once the world's predominant authority on craft beer in my own mind, but years of chugging ales have decimated my tolerance for it. Anywho, the first thing you'll notice about this spot is it's out there, pretty far off from downtown Alameda tucked away in an old military pier alongside some other more enterprising establishments. Lots of parking so there's that. Inside, they are definitely doing that thang, massive brewery stacks dominate the background but the space is massive so it supports an almost endless amount of tables, benches, and spots to hide out. Arcade machines, outdoor activities (even a kids sandbox) really add the "Adventureland" elements that make it more than just a standard brew joint. If you've had their beer, it's definitely on the expensive side, but they keep a healthy variety that I would say is all reliably refined and delicious. Its no 2000 era Bells or modern day Founders, but I particularly like their love hazy and the Mexican style lagers. My friends who like sours say they are also quite good. Although this place is really not directly affiliated with the business it's definitely a reason I go so I can't leave it out -- they have food trucks outside that handle most of the food there and the one they have there always has one of the best burgers I've ever had in the bay, hands down. It's a blackened blueberry and blue cheese burger and even though I don't like blue cheese, this unholy alliance is faaaaaaan-friggin-tastic. Must try. Service is casual, they do flights which is a great way to try things. Not sure about any happy hours, would love to see them get a mug/growler thing going here for discounts, they might have something already I'm just not aware of but nothing is obvious when I've gone. It's a great spot to kick it with some friends on a nice day or late afternoon, having a few beers and relaxing. California doesn't really do the beer garden thing like we do in the Midwest, you'll find spots like this all over Michigan so it's nice to see something of the same type here finally. I believe dogs are allowed too ala Texas vibes, but not 100% on that so I'd check ahead of time. Personally, I cannot stand seeing dogs at restaurants and bars so even if they do allow it, those aren't your kids, can we start reporting places that allow dogs without signage? If I brought a raccoon in on a leash would you be fine with that? It's a sanitation issue. Anyways, I digress, if you like beer, you like fun, and you like damn fine burgers, this is the best spot on the other side of the pond. 'nuff said.

Area is also great because of the distance of the three breweries right there. I put Bay Area or even Northern California breweries up against any region in the US. I firmly believe we have the best breweries quality-wise of anywhere. They had the flea market going while we were here which was kind of funny to me because most of the sellers had the same thing but it's nice to have and this is a perfect place for it.
