    Garlic Noodles with chicken!

This place is better than 4 stars! However it depends if you are looking for authentic pho/asian restaurant or if you're looking for fusion. I wouldn't come here for awesome pho but I would if I wanted a more American or fusion flavor. Bc I noted the difference, I decided to not order 5 bowls of pho. Remember kids, knowing is half the battle!! So... I ordered two pho. One pho tai and one bun bu hue. I think the pho tai was not bad. However the bun bu hue was not up to par. However the restaurant did call it Dragon Noodle Soup so with a name like that, you'd know not to expect a real authentic bun bu hue. Thus I didn't knock the Dragon Noodle Soup. Plus there are plenty of pho restaurants out that that mess up BBH so it is what it is. It's not bad. Just remember to adjust your expectations. The mango salad was also different than I had anticipated. But they put it on this 'Asian chips' so that's not too bad. It was pretty good. Calamari was good. They didn't mess it up. The garlic noodles were not bad. I did wanted to see what their version of it is and it also wasn't bad. The beef short ribs were not bad. Especially since it came with mango. It's a very good combo of sweet and savory. Like I said, this restaurant is pretty good. With a name like Bistro, you know it's more fusion and Asian. But it does have its niche. And tho it's on the water, it's not that pricey. The flavors and dishes were al enjoyable. And tho it was too cold to sit out on the tables over looking the water, I'd prolly come back in the summer. So yea I'd recommend it and would definitely come back. It does get busy so it is definitely a popular restaurant. Service was good and ambiance is better. Solid smokin' A!!

Dragon Rouge is a fun and yummy Vietnamese restaurant to catch up with friends. They have a wonderful happy hour with good value. You can always catch Alameda locals hanging out here. We recently went for a girlfriend's Christmas dinner and the staff was very sweet and accommodating. We blocked off two tables in the corner and we had a view of the Oakland estuary. We shared the Bouncing Beef Tenderloins, Crab Rangoon, Garlic Noodle with Prawns, Dragon Roll Sampler. I also recommend their Clay pots. They are very delicious. They have plenty of parking and share a parking lot with other businesses near the restaurant.

This mocktail was exactly what I asked for! Refreshing and no sugar!

This is the second year we have our Union dinner here. Kingsley went above and beyond to make this event phenomenal for us. The food was freshly made and served warm every time a tray was almost empty. Beautiful venue, nice patio seating and I had happy guests. Highly recommend this place for event, parties and celebrations. Thank you Kingsley for being awesome!

Great little mom and pop bistro on the water. Our server was sweet and attentive, and knew when to leave us to chat and when to check in on us. We were seated indoors, but it was a beautiful day and we had a nice waterfront view. Our food came out at decent times with enough stagger between apps and our mains. Here is the breakdown: - Basil Garlic Noodles - simple yet delicious. - Crispy Garlic Wings - bangin! These had a ton of flavor without the garlic being overpowering, and the vinegar sauce was simple, yet perfection. - Curry Dip Sandwich - divine! Like a Bahn Mi French dip into the most delightful velvety curry bisque. - Lemongrass Fries - crispy, salty, and enough lemongrass to give you the warm fuzzies. - Lemongrass Grilled Beef Short Ribs - the ribs had so much flavor, but I would not choose the vermicelli again as a side, though the broccoli was cooked perfectly. - Wonton Prawn Rolls - not what I expected even though they are quite literally prawns wrapped in wonton wrappers, but crunchy and delicious! Would smash again.

Dragon Rouge Bistro Alameda -- La-La & Jazz Approved! Dragon Rouge... BAY AREA, LISTEN -- they did it again! This is our second time here, and babyyy... they did not disappoint. We ordered a whole lineup: Potstickers Chili-Glazed Garlic Wings (these right here? LEGENDARY.) Garlic Jalapeño Fries (Dragon Style!) Garlic Vegetable Curry And TWO cocktails -- a classic margarita + a strawberry-raspberry mix that was chef's kiss Everything came out HOT, seasoned, flavorful, and cooked with love. Those chili wings had us looking at each other like, "OKAY, Dragon Rouge! We see you!" And let's talk VALUE because that's rare in the Bay: FOUR dishes TWO cocktails GREAT service Delicious food Chill, cute vibe All for around $75 including tip. Like... where do you find that anymore!? Dragon Rouge Bistro Alameda, La-La & Jazz appreciate you! You have two very happy repeat customers, and trust -- we'll be back again and again. Highly recommended!

    Is there indoor seating?

Still patio seating only due to Gov. Newsom shutting down most of the state due to the virus silliness. Nice patio though with heaters.

Between our group, we got Sakoo, Nam Khao, Fried Clear Rice Roll Wraps, Sai Oua (Lao Sausages), Crispy Pork Belly, Pad Kee Mao, and a large side of Sticky Rice. Of the dishes, the Nam Khao was a standout favorite for me. I loved how crispy and crunchy the fried rice was in the dish. There were so many layers of flavors and textures from the fish sauce, the peanuts, and the fermented sour pork. If there's one dish you must order when you stop by here, it's this one. Another dish I really enjoyed was the Sai Oua; I get this dish whenever I see it at restaurants. Although I've had Lao sausages which were very heavy in lemongrass flavor, the ones here did not have the same flavor profile. Instead, the ones here leaned more towards the spicy side. The crispy pork belly was another standout dish for me. If you enjoy Filipino lechon or Cantonese siu yuk, this is another must-order dish. The pork is well seasoned and has the perfect ratio of lean to fatty parts. Overall, I had wonderfully delicious meal. I would certainly recommend coming as a large group so you're able to order a wide variety of dishes. If you're looking for something to really excite your taste buds, head over to Bhan Mae Vane.

As soon as I go in for the first bite I can tell instantly that they reheated old refrigerated rice. Are we rationing rice here? The waitress kept saying the order would take long, even the menu says expect extra wait, but it only took 5 mins. The cost of the meal was $26 including a $2 tip which I probably shouldn't have given because what did she do? Absolutely nothing. I was going to dine in until she said I had to go up to the register to order, where's the service there? so I said forget it.. if the waitress can't take my food order at the table, what's the point? Needless to say, food and now service is complete trash. Also, in my previous experience here, I thought the broth was too oily. The pho here gives me a headache actually where I couldn't finish times. I put it in the fridge hoping to want it later buthere's 2-3 inches of fat coagulation. I would say I eat pho 2-3 times a week and rice pretty much everyday, so my review is not to shame any restaurant but more so in disbelief about being served old and cold hard rice.

It came with romaine, mint, and perilla leaves neatly layered for easy wrapping. The lettuce was a bit soft and soggy tho, and I think they forgot the pickled veggies. Served with a tiny portion of tangy sweet nước chấm. * Bò Lúc Lắc: Shaking Beef w/ soy, garlic, onion, cherry tomato, arugula ($26): https://tinyurl.com/3rkpukct Meltingly tender cubes of filet mignon but light on the seasoning and aromatics so it was bland. Also, was hoping for more smoky wok hei flavor. * Thịt Kho Tàu: Braised Pork Belly w/ hard boiled eggs, rice ($21): https://tinyurl.com/mr2evryw - Includes bowl of rice A traditional dish served during Lunar New Year, it symbolizes prosperity, warmth, and stability. Chunks of pork belly are caramelized in sugar and braised in coconut soda and fish sauce - rich, savory with a good ratio of lean meat to fat (4 pieces). The appetizers came out and were decent enough, but that's where the positive experience ended for me. I sat there watching my wife eat her pork chop rice plate while I had nothing in front of me. No pho. I waited easily 20 to 30 minutes -- and if anything, that's a conservative estimate. Anyone who's ever been to a Vietnamese restaurant knows that pho is almost always one of the first things to hit the table. It's broth that's kept hot and ready. There's no reason it should lag behind a rice plate or take half an hour to arrive. What made it worse was the total lack of communication from our server. Not once did she come by to acknowledge the delay, offer an explanation, or even check in to let me know my food was on its way. I shouldn't have to flag someone down to ask where my meal is. A simple "I'm so sorry, your pho is coming right out" goes a long way -- that's just basic hospitality. Our server was a young woman who, frankly, seemed either undertrained or indifferent to the experience of her tables. I don't say that to be harsh -- I say it because it's fixable. Someone in management needs to invest in proper hospitality training, because attentiveness and communication are non-negotiable in the restaurant industry. I've dined at hundreds of restaurants over the years, from casual spots to fine dining, and the standard of keeping your guests informed is universal. I eventually left without ever receiving my pho. My wife finished her meal, we paid, and we walked out -- with me having eaten nothing but appetizers. That's simply unacceptable. I hope the management reads this and takes it seriously. The food concept is solid, but the service needs serious attention before I'd ever consider returning.
