We were in the middle of a 7 hour drive and needed to stop for lunch. We thought Sizzler had disappeared when we stumbled up on the thousands of positive reviews (between Yelp & other review sites) of this location. We had to stop. We forgot how the whole restaurant works. The staff didn't judge us and explained the unlimited salad bar. The staff encouraged us to see the options before making a decision. The food, from the crispy chicken wings to the fresh fruit was delicious. The brownies were goated and they played the world cup game. The location is a shining example of how a chain restaurant should be. We'll be looking for a local to us location. read more

Have not been to Sizzler in a minute so wanted to come and try it again since it's been so long. Had a tie tip steak with baked potato and a side salad and don't forget that great toast. Toast was so good had to ask for seconds. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Salad had many options at the salad bar and was just the right size to complement my meal. I like to start off by saying the customer service was great and the place was clean. The options for the salad bar were decent and the reason for my visit was the salad bar. They did have a variety of salads (pasta, green, potato,etc.), although I was also looking for protein to add to my salad, and they only had fried chicken. I would have had to buy a plate to get some boneless chicken for my salad. I am being picky, I know, although I'm sharing my experience. It was my first time at a Sizzler and the host didn't ask or tell us how things worked. I had the tri tip with shrimp skewers and the salad bar. The food was tasty and fresh though. Our waitress never brought over our high chair and didn't tell us if the dessert was part of the salad bar or for everyone. I probably will never go back. read more

We stopped at the Sizzler on Real Road in Bakersfield as a midpoint during our road trip ... and wow, what a pleasant surprise! We haven't been to Sizzler much lately because, honestly, the ones in our city just haven't felt worth the price. But this location really impressed me. The restaurant was clean, organized, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The cashiers were super pleasant and even helped seat us after taking our order. Our server, Oscar, was fabulous - attentive, friendly, and on top of everything. I ordered the steak and all-you-can-eat shrimp, which has always been my favorite, and it did not disappoint. The shrimp came out hot every time, the steak was cooked exactly how I like it, and whatever butter they use, i love it. So good. Of course, the cheese toast was as tasty as ever. One thing I did miss was the classic Sizzler steak sauce--this location had A1 instead. Not a dealbreaker since the steak was still great, but I do love that original sauce! My husband got the fish and chips, and the portion size was no joke - three huge pieces of fish! He couldn't even finish it. All in all, we had a great experience. I'm a huge fine dining boujie diner. My dad wanted sizzler for his bday. He's 75 and has been picky about his food. So we head to sizzler with a 10 month old and the family. Gosh it was a great experience! I got steak and lobster. Steak was cooked to perfection and lobster was tender. The salad bar was clean and fresh. The service was impressive! Marisela was super attentive and friendly. I'm really impressed to have had such a good experience at sizzler. Also my baby loved tasting the meatballs and a tiny bit of ice cream. Loved it. The service was great but the food was not to my liking personally. The salad bar was by far the best part and it all looked great but all of the fried food like the chicken and the corn had a very weird aftertaste and it really threw off my stomach. We were attending a friends birthday celebration. We hadn't been to sizzler in years, so the $20 salad bar for 4 people coming out to almost $90 (2 drinks, 2 waters and taxes) was shocking. Then I asked if they had a military discount. They did, but it was 5% and only applied to one person. So we decided to order meals because they were slightly cheaper. The food was terrible. The chicken sandwich was chewy and it was a small piece of chicken (not even half the burger). The burger was undercooked and flavorless. The bacon was burnt, the tomatoes tasted bad, and the water tasted like dirty tap water. The ranch was watered down. The cheesy bread was soggy. The fish were dry. The fries were the only decent item. And our total still came to $71 for 2 adults and 2 kids. I would highly recommend no one patron this place. Customer service was awful as well. read more

Brisyda was so nice to me and my older parents guiding us through the ordering process and giving them the senior discounts. We were quite impressed. So many different choices you couldn't possibly not find something to love. We ate here Easter Sunday and came back on Wednesday. First time I had the triple shrimp which were really good and today we had the salad bar. We can't wait to come back.
