It proves that you don't need a big place to offer everything people need for healthful vegetarian cooking. Always fresh curry leaves, ripe mangos, fresh fenugreek, nice selection of rice and dal and dry goods, the better brands of ghee, soft beautiful dates. I find that where many stores stumble this place easily succeeds. The people who work here are invariably gracious and helpful, I always feel at peace and unhurried and very kindly supported. Gentle chant music plays in the background and the feeling is nice. It always feels like a good choice to have come here. The large footlong Italian roll was the perfect vehicle for all the yummy sandwich filling. I'm not a Vegan but have friends that are & can myself appreciate using non-meat forms of protein, so I am also real happy with this new opening! Opened just a couple months ago, my friend and I hit it up last night for some yums. They some really great and tasty drinks options, and they make me feel like i'm having a healthier option. So even you're at the Farmers Market buying other food for your meal, pop into Besties for a drink! They have a ton of cool Vegan options, I ended up buying these 'eggs' to put on breakfast sandwiches or wherever I really desire. They also have a bunch of other proteins, candies, chocolates (including LA focused fun that is great for souvenirs!), sandwiches & premade pasta salads, cheeses, and even more luxury items like a big ol' "lobster" I saw for sale, other pantry & freezer items and tons of snacks. I haven't tried their hot foods yet but they do have a big menu of that, as well, with things like Cheese Sticks and Vegan hot dogs, plus soft serve ice cream! I'll eventually try it all. Everything was so neatly organized, really clean and cute small market. Price isn't a problem if it weren't that there's not a lot of inventory. It's a good local store but I can't get my shopping done here, though it's good for specific Mexican items like drinks and snacks. They have lots of Mexican cheese and even chocolate for mole.
