Indian Creek Steakhouse is a Caldwell institution. But temper your expectations on the quality front. My medium filet was overcooked. Had an inedible center chunk of lettuce taking over my Caesar salad. "Loaded" baked potato fell short on the toppings. Disappointing. On a positive note, loads of fun cowboy ambiance.

I've only downgraded my 5 star review to 4 stars just purely due to price. I do understand food costs has risen all over, but I feel the increase was a bit too high. However, service was still top notch and the ambiance still gives you that old school cowboy steakhouse feel. It is a place I visit every time I'm in Idaho and I'll be back again just because the food is so dang good.

This place is huge!!!! It has everything to dancing and dinning and a fun bar! The atmosphere is super fun! The service was very efficient friendly and super nice!! They have a cool quaint down stairs bar and dinning! Loved it! The bread was absolutely delicious and the ribeye steak was good. A cool place to bring friends out of town or family!!

My husband and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and wanted a nice steak and lobster dinner so we decided to go here and give it a try. So glad we did. The food was absolutely amazing. My husband had the 18 oz bone-in ribeye and I got the lobster tail. My husband loved his steak and my lobster was seriously THE BEST I have ever eaten. It was so good. Had a smoky flavor that I've never tasted with lobster before that was amazing. My only complaint is that we went on a Tuesday night when the farmers market was going so we had to park nearly five blocks away from the restaurant. The prices for the food seemed a bit excessive but after tasting it, I'd pay it again. Overall, we had a wonderful dinner and plan to make it our regular anniversary spot from now on.

Every thing was delish from the cheese curds the "swinging steaks" to the filet and the veggies. Waiter was nice and friendly, and the place was cute and clean !

Really under rated. Had a pitcher or two of beer. Ordered prime rib rare. Oh so good. Came with fried potatoes, salad , beans and fry bread. Wife had filet rare with baked potato, beans, salad and fry bread. So good. Server was great and always asked how it was. Love this place.

We have eaten here non-happy hour (7 days a week until 6pm) and honestly, would not do it again. Great food but very expensive. This review is purely based on happy hour...not regular dining! All well drinks, house wines, and domestic drafts are 1$ off on happy hour and they have a happy hour meal menu. We have tried all of the happy hour meals! Today we got burgers. They are amazing! Taste great, cooked how you want! Same with the steaks! Always cooked well and tase great! I'm not a huge fan of the nacho's because they come with bbq sauce, but they always just take it off for me. We typically sit up at the bar unless we have a group. Bar tenders are always nice and attentive. Drinks are made well and they are pretty good about special requests! Sitting at a table can be a bit more time consuming as the dining area her is massive! They do lots of live events and music!

Love the prime rib. We visit every family vacation. T-shirt shop is always hilarious to visit as well.

Indian Creek Steakhouse has the potential to be a great spot, but it falls short in a few areas. It's more of a bar for middle-aged country folks than a true steakhouse experience. The space is massive--almost too big--and the lack of separation between the dining area and bar creates an awkward atmosphere. Before the live music starts, it's strangely quiet yet still loud because you can hear everyone's conversations. Once the music kicks in, it becomes almost impossible to have one of your own. The food was underwhelming for the price. I had a burger that cost $20 (with an upcharge for cheese), and it was so salty I could barely eat it. My husband ordered a steak, and his response was, "I could make this better at home for way less." To top it off, they never brought one of his sides. The best part of our experience was our server/bartender, who was really nice. Unfortunately, service was painfully slow--we waited a long time just to order, get our food, and finally receive the check. This place would be great if you're just looking to go out for drinks, but if you're here for the food and atmosphere, it's overpriced and poorly set up. With better food and a more defined separation between dining and the bar, it could be amazing.

Not the lame video content where 2 seconds into a bite an actor says it is soooo amazing. This is the real deal. As far as Oaxacan, straight up nails the flavor profile - which only comes with multiple preparation steps, layers, and time. Thus the expense. The only authenticity deviation I can tell is that the spice level is much lower, which my wife appreciated. It has been so long since I've had a mole that didn't taste like Hershey coco powder cooked in an overly sweet base with a little pork fat. Or from a Sysco can. After having some great experiences in northern Mexico and southern CA, in the decades since I had given up on finding a good mole. Their Mole Negro was incredibly favorable and dances on the tongue for a solid 30 seconds. Braised beef short rib was perfectly cooked and fork tender. Mole - mwah! Can't recall ever having a charred sunchoke (as a side), but now it is on my radar because that was super tasty. Barbacoa de borrego... during a trip going through Quintana Roo, I shared a meal with an ethnic Mayan community where the meat was freshly slaughters, dry rubbed, wrapped in leaves, and slow pit cooked over embers in the ground. Amano's style is using agave, which I liked. From time to time I purchase Boise River lamb at the Meridian Main Street Farmers Market. It's way better than New Zealand lamb which always seems a little gamey/off to me. The broth provided just elevated each mouthful. To have local Boise River lamb prepared as an authentic barbacoa... Given the amount of meat you get, it's totally worth the $108 splurge. But wait, there's more. Scallop crudo - my wife said it reminded her of the fresh shrimp and fish ceviche we had in Playa del Carmen. I loved the pairing with jicama and slice of de-seeded jalapeno (not spicy). Only warning - the dry spice they sprinkle scallops with can be a bit strong for some. Beans, simply amazing. Rice, pretty good. 4 salsa's offered a real diversity of flavors to do different pairings. Provided tortillas seemed more like authentic maize that is well worked, not the fragile disks you can get in the grocery store. The tres leche lavender cake was enjoyable, but didn't blow me away. Everyone was very friendly. Our server was awesome and super helpful. Great menu of mescals, which was perfect for resetting the pallet. I guess they are going to start up a tasting room in the near future, which would be pretty interesting. To get that real taste without having to spend thousands on getting to where the authentic exists - simply awesome.

Our server, Ashley, was absolutely wonderful. Since it was our first visit, she thoroughly explained the menu and made excellent suggestions. She even showed me where Chef and owner Sal prepares the meats underground overnight and explained the extensive process behind them. Ashley then introduced me to Sal before giving me a peek inside the mezcal tasting room. I loved the agave goddess artwork in there! Sadly, I didn't get to meet his wife and business partner, Becca--but hopefully I will when we return! Ashley also took the time to show me the entrance to Cán Coctelería--Amano's speakeasy--from their outdoor dining patio. Now I have yet another reason to return! We started with drinks and cornbread. My Cadillac margarita was impressive! I also tried my hubby's Café de Olla--¡delicioso! I sampled their mezcal as well, and it was so tasty and warmed my heart in the best possible way! The cornbread was incredibly moist and buttery. They also serve a delicious sweet wheat bread that, in my opinion, is even better than chips and salsa! For my meal, I ordered the chilaquiles with eggs over easy and added birria. They were excellent! I love when the chips still have some texture and aren't completely soggy. These had the perfect sauce-to-chip ratio, along with a little spice--which I loved! My husband ordered the birria tacos and absolutely devoured them. The refreshing towel offered after our meal was another thoughtful touch and the perfect way to end the experience. Overall, I truly loved Amano! The food was delicious, the service was memorable, and the entire experience felt special. I'm already looking forward to returning, experiencing Cán Coctelería, and bringing our friends and relatives whenever they come to visit!

Then we sat and sat...no service, watching people get seated and served immediately around us, for over 20 minutes. Our server Bayli came over and apologized as we were grabbing our things to leave; apparently no one had let her know we were in her section. Regardless, it would have been nice if anyone in the place checked on us. I guess seeing us there without service for that long wasn't obvious, despite the place being barely half full. After Bayli convinced us to stay, we decided to take advantage of the $25 for 2 deal - house salads for both of us, O-M-Cheese-adilla Burger for me and the chicken strip meal for hubby. The house salads came out quickly and looked scrumptious with diced tomatoes, cucumber then topped with cheese and croutons. The Ranch dressing was actually quite good. Hubby has thousand island dressing and it looked and tasted freshly made. Food came out 10 minutes after we had finished our salads and my cheese-adilla queso platter burger was sizzling with crispy cheese bits. I pried the burger quesadilla off that fajita plate and after one bite....that was it. It was if the cheese gods touched my soul and filled it with joy. The chips and queso were a nice side, though the queso on top was cold. Once I dug down into the abyss of cheese, it was much warmer underneath. Since they have Pepsi products there, they removed Diet Pepsi which is a huge downside (and a reason we won't go there as often, regardless of how good that O-M-Cheese-adilla Burger is). Hubby's chicken strips were cooked well but seemed like they were frozen to fried kind of strips. No dessert or drinks on the house to make up for the unacceptable wait time. When we sat down, the table was still unwashed. Food particles and crumbs littered the top. When Loni came by, we asked her to please wash that table and she was right on it and wholly apologetic. In this, do better Applebees! As for the food, my chicken sandwich was dry, I am glad I kept the mustard sauce from the pretzel appetizer to put on it. My husband ordered the chicken parm and fettuccine and got a three cheese penne with chicken that had no salt.
