    First time at lock stock & barrel! My husband and I came for our anniversary dinner on a Sunday evening. We were seated and greeted immediately downstairs. We started with a couple of drinks and then proceeded to order - I ordered the ribeye with fries & my husband had the New York steak au poivre with a loaded baked potato. My husband also had a cup of clam chowder from the salad bar. Food was delicious! This place is a no frills but good steakhouse. Comparing to chandlers, you'll spend 1/2 the price and have a pretty darn good meal! We also ordered a piece of cheesecake to go which tasted great later. Would return for sure for a comfortable, upscale meal!

    I have been coming to Lock Stock and Barrel since the 80's as a kid. Back then it was off of Emerald. I remember that joint vividly. Some of my happiest memories were there. It was my family's go to place for dinner. Tonight I came in with my husband to celebrate Valentines day. Our reservation was at 7:45. The sweet hostess got us sat. I have never eaten on the second level and that's where our table was tonight. We were next to the railing which was fun. We got a great view of the night preformer and all the guests. As cool as the location of our table was, I would have liked a bigger table. The size of the table would have been great for a couple appetizers and drinks. Our meals took up the whole table and it felt really congested. We made it work but I'll probably request a bigger table the next time we go. Ali took care of us tonight. She was great! She got our drinks started and dropped off some warm sourdough rolls. For dinner we ordered the Asiago ribeye special, Argentina crab legs and 2 lobster tails. We added an extra salad bar cause we both needed some clam chowder from the salad bar. The clam chowder will always be my favorite here. It was fabulous in the 80's and it was fabulous tonight. The sourdough rolls were beautifully baked. Crusty on the outside and so soft in the middle. Dipping the rolls into the chowder is my favorite! The ribeye was perfectly charred! I had the medallion of the ribeye and it was sooooooo good! It was topped with an Asiago sauce that added a great flavor to the steak. The lobster was sweet and tender. The melted butter was perfect with the lobster. The Argentina crab legs were ok. For 39.99 for a half a pound, I didn't feel like it was worth the money. The legs were dry and not really warm. Not a lot of meat in the legs. It was cool to try it but it I wouldn't reorder them. It was beautiful seeing the venue full of happy guests tonight. Celebrating love, life or just enjoying the moment. I'm happy that this local joint is still around helping locals create memories like how it did for me tonight and a long time ago when i was a kid. I look forward to coming back in the future.

    First time here tonight and we loved it! Husband had the prime rib, I had the cajun chicken risotto special and all of it was great! The salad bar and clam chowder was fabulous, and our server Nick was awesome too! Can't wait to come back

    Lock, Stock & Barrel never disappoints! The salad bar is one of the freshest I've ever had--crisp greens, great toppings, and everything beautifully stocked. The steak was absolutely excellent, cooked just the way I like it, tender and full of flavor. And the salmon? Cooked to perfection. Flaky, seasoned just right, and truly delicious. From start to finish, everything was amazing. Highly recommend!

    My husband came in for the Sunday special of two prime ribs for $60. We thought it was a great deal. I made a reservation for 5p and showed up a little early, but was seated immediately. Our server was great & very attentive while we were there. The baked brie and roasted garlic was amazing, as were the sourdough rolls. The prime rib was delicious, and cooked just how we wanted it. The caesar salad was tasty, with a nice lemon coming through in the dressing. The vibe of the restaurant is casual, which we were preferred for a nice Sunday dinner. We'll be back.

    This is their $32 plate of "JUMBO PRAWN". They serve you skimpy little medium sized shrimp and try to pass it off as "jumbo prawn". Who are you trying to fool? Their ribeye steak ended up costing $55. Overpriced food, not worth it, look elsewhere.

We went on a Saturday during mid May so people were celebrating Mother's Day and graduation, so we had to make a reservation a month in advance for that dinner service. We got the BBQ duck quesadilla, tableside guacamole, and the signature hot rock filet with a side of zucchini chips sprinkled with cheese. This was more than enough for 2 people as every dish is huge. The quesadilla is delicious, with a good amount of duck. Kind of similar experience to a BBQ chicken quesadilla, but fancier. Tableside guacamole is good - lots of guac but since we were seated outside with a beautiful lake view directly, there were steps so it was not possible to see the guacamole prepared tableside. The server should have mentioned it as we wanted to see the preparation, and we were never informed as such so the premium for the appetizer was not as worthwhile. The hot rock filet was good. I loved the fire show when they pour the mix of cognac peppercorn sauce. The steak was incredibly high quality - really juicy and not much tendon. This is the type of steak I have been seeking in many restaurants that fail to deliver. The zucchini chips side was good, a little flimsy on the batter, but nonetheless satisfying. We got cocktails that were icetinis - a glass with an ice shaped like the glass. They pour a small portion of the drink on the glass and left the rest in the cocktail shaker for us to pour gradually so that the drink is not as diluted, which is a good touch. Service can be improved - I understand the server is fairly new but there should be a minimal amount of experience to serve at such a high end restaurant? Some big misses I had were not giving shared plates until we asked, covering a bit of the show with the arm when pouring the fire cognac, and when requesting the check, he took a pause to place the receipt at the table but failed to see that he placed the check on top of some guac we dropped at the table so my credit cards after payment were incredibly sticky and oily. If people are dropping hundreds for a nice experience, I expected service to be better than that.

There was a wine rack accent wall on the right. It is located in downtown Boise at the corner of Idaho and 8th St along restaurant row. Our server was Matthew B, and while he was a nice guy, he did not provide good service. It took him a while to get to our table, then after we ordered drinks, it took too long to get them. We then ordered appetizers but he didn't take our dinner orders. We waited too long for the appetizers, and then we ordered our dinners, which also took a while to come out. Runners brought our food out, not Matthew. He did not to refill the women's sodas, we had to ask. He did bring another glass of wine to one of the men, but that was because he was signaled. He did not ask the other people that ordered beer and cocktails if they wanted another. We never had our water glasses refilled. We told him about the birthday celebration, and all he said was, if we ordered dessert, he would put a candle on it. What? Most places serve a complimentary dessert for a birthday celebration. He also took too long to bring us our checks. We're all good tippers. We gave him 15%; he didn't deserve it. The food was OK, not spectacular, but overpriced. As far as the apetizers, the asparagus fries were not that flavorful, though nicely crusted. The cauliflower was just OK, likewise the chicken wings. I did like the honey and balsamic grilled brussel sprouts. Speaking for my wife and I, she liked the BAM Sammy. The side salad was average. I ordered the Urban Burger. While the patty was cooked well, it was small. I can get a bigger, better burger that costs less at any number of restaurants we frequent, including a few near us (we live in Star). I did like the fries. Crispy, with I believe Parmesan cheese coating them. My friend said his smoked salmon salad was just OK. We found it very loud, and difficult to hear each other in conversation. Needless to say, we have no plans to return to Fork.

We were here celebrating our 20-year anniversary and were thrilled to discover this gem tucked away in the Grove Hotel. I'm honestly shocked by how amazing the food is. The service was top notch--John B. took incredible care of us. We even had the chance to compliment the chef and meet Ryan, who made my Croque Madame. Hearing him talk about his experience, his love for cooking, and seeing the precision and care he puts into his work made the meal even more special. It truly shows in every bite. Because of the service, the experience, and the expertise behind the food, we happily left a generous tip--it was well deserved. And for only $18-$20 per entrée, the value is unbelievable. We considered meeting family at the Trillium tonight because they happen to be staying at the Grove Hotel . While we waited for thier arrival, we looked at the menu by the entrance . The restaurant was empty, except for two waitresses heavily engrossed in a conversation, one of them , facing us. We then waited by the reservation desk and looked over in the direction of the staff who continued talking . We thought maybe at some point a hostess, or the manager would approach us . We had a quick question as to how late they were serving , we were there around 8:00pm. After no acknowledgement from anyone, and after ackwardly looking around, my wife walked in the direction of the waitresses . One of them broke off to greet us , but we sensed possibly that we may be inconvenienceing her . We asked how late they were open , and the response was appropriate, but slightly distant . My brief thought in that moment was we can all at times have a off day, but it's important to remember that first positive impressions can set the tone for a good customer experience. I have eaten here several times and have enjoyed the food and service , ...I don't expect anyone to stand at the ready for my entrance, however if you want to finish your story with your co-worker , please just remember that customers bring very little expectation other then to just feel welcome when they cross the threshold. A couple of my friends showed up first, got a great table outside and ordered a couple apps to get the party started. I showed up after goodies and drinks were ordered. We started off with some chips and salsa and pountine. The chips and salsa looked good but the pountine was definitely calling my name! I love me some potatoes and these potatoes looked like they were going to be right up my alley! I dished up a good portion before my friends got some. They were kind to let me plate first cause of my new kidney. I didn't want to be too greedy so the portion I got was a few bites. Those few bites got me hooked so it was a must to get another order started. While my order of pountine was being worked on, I tried the pretzel with cheese and the hummus plate. The pretzel was perfectly salted. The cheese sauce was the perfect addition to the soft pretzel. I took a good amount of the hummus and Greek salad. The pita that came with it was a great vessel for the hummus. It was crispy with a slight chew to it. The hummus was clean tasting and rich. The Greek salad was so fresh. All the components of the salad tasted like they were just picked from the garden. You literally can't get anymore farm to table than that! It was so fresh! The second order of pountine came out. Everything about this appetizer was delicious! I love soggy, softer fries and these fries were the business! The gravy and cheese were the highlight of the dish for me. You can never go wrong with potatoes, cheese and gravy! There was a good amount of meat on the pountine. It was so tender! You can tell it was cooked with a lot of love and time! I took the rest home and I plan on hiding my box in the back of my fridge so my daughter can't get to it! We ended our happy hour with the beignets. Each one of these goodies were covered in powered sugar. The caramel sauce that was paired with it was devine! In all honesty, as full as I was, I could have polished off an order myself! We had our eye on one particular light, crisp option, but they were out for the night. Our server pointed us toward something comparable... I believe it was called Teddy Bearnd...it worked. Now, the food. My friend went for one of their signature burgers, which was seasoned simply so the beef really gets to shine. The only hiccup was that they were out of tomatoes, which is a non-negotiable topping for her, so keep that in mind if tomatoes are a must. I went a different route and ordered the beef focaccia. Uniquely layered ribeye and really good. We also shared a Greek salad that was simple but fresh and satisfying. And the french fries with their homemade ketchup? Don't skip em. Service was smooth and friendly from start to finish. No complaints.

You can't beat happy hour vibes and birthday celebrations in one visit. Talk about a win win! I was that weird customer and got here exactly at 3 when they opened. To be honest with you, I loved that I got to spec out the bar area before everyone showed up. I got to appreciate the beautiful richness of the bar. It's just stunning. The red just makes the vibe sexy, mysterious and romantic. The tables were all beautifully lit with table lamps. I see people just falling in love with each other over a romantic cocktail here. I didn't really check out the dining area but if the bar area is this romantic, I can only imagine the other half of this joint. Cameron took care of us tonight. While I was waiting for the others to show up, I got myself a coke zero and chilled. I did peep out the menu and of course the happy hour menu. I knew we were in for a real treat. After the girls showed up, an old fashioned and a couple glasses of wine were ordered. And of course we got some food started! Oysters, fried caprese and shrimp cocktail. I know this food line up was going to be banger. One by one our food was coming out. Each appetizer was prettier than the plate before it. The shrimp cocktail was elegantly plated. The fried caprese was delicately garnished with herbs, tomatoes and a balsamic glaze. The oysters looked like they were just brought from the ocean fresh. Presentation was on point. I had to pass on the oysters. I don't eat oysters but I also can't have it cause of the new kidney. But from what I heard, the oysters were fantastic. I started off with the fried caprese, so good! The bread crumbs on the outside were savory and crunchy. The mozzarella in the middle was creamy and slightly melted. With the tomatoes, herbs and glaze in each bite...... wow. The ultimate flavor combo! Sweet, salty, cheesey and crunchy. To only have was hard cause I could have polished all 4! The shrimp cocktail was perfectly halved. Sprinkles of capers and microgreens added some earthy tones to the plate. I appreciate that they were sliced in half. It was easier to eat. I was able to cover each slice with some cocktail sauce. There was a nice heat from the horseradish that wasn't overwhelming. Enough to tickle your nose but not make you blackout. The fresh bread did make an appearance while we were eating. Better late than not getting fresh bread at all! The bread was out of the oven warm. I took a nice piece and slapped some butter on it. Fresh bread and butter will always be the best combo. I love the saltiness from the seasonings on top. It was soft, warm and crusty. I could have came here for a huge chunk of warm bread and left happy. That bread was killer. Cameron was great and got my friend, Laura a piece of limoncello cake for her birthday. Laura saved me a chunk of that slice of heaven. I was outside on a phone call when they started working on it. Grateful my friend was kind and shared her cake with me. Woooooooooww. We were making jokes about saying it would be our birthday every week so we can come in for limoncello cake.
