El Compa Seafood Restaurant price increase faded sign on one entry door. Failed to mark their menus with the correct pricing!

"Mariscos El Compa" is an old Mexican Seafood Restaurant in an industrial neighborhood in Caldwell, ID. We were given menus showing different prices than those we were actually charged! The server never advised us of the increase in food pricing! When we complained they showed us a faded sign, on one of their entrance doors, stating there had been an increase in prices. The food is definitely overpriced, for this establishment category. Grilled thin beef pieces, "carne asada " is a whooping $22. Their fried shrimp were overcooked and expensive, and ice tea was $5...all of this in a mediocre restaurant with the men's bathroom in disrepair. I am sure this price hike is unjustified and done in a sneaky manner, DO NOT patronized them!

OMG! Soooooooo delicious! We grew up in AZ and have been searching for Mexican food that meets the standards we grew up with and this place is that place for us! I got the fried shrimp with rice and beans and my husband got the smothered burrito and customer service was amazing the server was so nice to me the corona I had while waiting for food was coooolllldddd and everything was on point!

The first time here and I will definitely be back! Everything tasted fresh and homemade lots of great options for seafood and for non-seafood dining. It seemed like a busy neighborhood place as every table was filled! The Michelada was the best ever had!

First time in. I say it was okay. I was meeting w a friend, I had my 4 year nephew with me and they only had two tables with customers.. I waited to be seated like the signed said but after while my nephew grew inpatient so we sat at a booth. The server came after a minute or two got our drink order. I took my nephew to the bathroom they are pretty clean, not much of light in there it was a bit dark but it was ok.. My friend arrived, she got her drink we visited for a bit... We order our food the dish I order was I honestly I don't remember but it was so delicious I love the tasted of my food it was so good. My friend order tacos she loved them. The server got confused that she brought me some Tacos of shrimp and than fixed my order. She did say it was her first time. She was good. My nephew was killing flies was his hands he was Entertaining himself lol.. Over all the food was good the place was calm and the flies well its summer it's hard to keep them away. Our server did ok too.

I use to love this place but the last two times the service has been horrible. It's 9:15 we just left. We got there at 8:30 and the sign says they close at 9 while our waitress wasn't as rude as the last one it was still crappy. She passively aggressively let us know we were "lucky" to get there she was going to turn the open sign off. The table infront of us was getting the same "get out" vibes and even asked about it. The waitress said if its slow they close. IF its slow but several tables were turned away. Our food came out so quick but the ostones were not good at all. It's Thursday night so I know Gueros had live mariachi and the service is always amazing. I will never come back here. We left a good tip, we were kind despite the remarks urging us to leave but the service is just going downhill.

The woman with the hoops is beyond rude

I had a rude waitress. She is a bully and made it the worst experience. I love this place and the food is amazing, however I dread walking in and seeing this woman. I'm not sure how to add photos if I did I'd add a picture to show her. beware of this lady

The wine list is extensive, and the menu offers plenty of appealing options. We started with the oysters topped with raspberry mignonette, which ended up being my favorite part of the meal. The combination was fresh, unique, and incredibly well executed. For our entrees, we ordered the Mahi Mahi with lobster and the Orange Roughy. While my Mahi Mahi was slightly overcooked, the drawn butter from the lobster helped bring it back to life and added great flavor. I wasn't a fan of the pineapple accompaniment, which tasted canned rather than fresh, but the sauce served alongside the dish was excellent. The Orange Roughy was the standout entree and definitely the better choice between the two. It was flaky, buttery, fresh, and cooked perfectly. Overall, Coa Del Mar delivers a gorgeous setting, excellent cocktails, friendly service, and some truly memorable dishes. While not every element of the meal was perfect, the oysters and Orange Roughy alone would have me coming back.

Her calamari was just okay. My onion rings were okay. My granddaughter had half a dungeness crab boil. She loved it and said it was good. We didn't have the heart to tell her that the broth and appearance was odd, but she was happy and not sick today. The place wasn't very busy for 5:00pm The service was good and our server was doing her best to make our visit pleasurable. Barbacoa is your place to go for a half entertainment and half great food overlooking the (Parkcenter) Pond for a great time and a great meal - (or not, there is a rooftop bar called Luna where one can imbibe if food is not your jam). This is a second trip to Barbacoa. This trip was perfect as hunger was involved AND a late reservation was needed. Barbacoa really books up, but we were in luck, snagging one of the last reservations on a Friday night! We had a lovely waitress and clean-up guy . Lighter appetites can get by on an appetizer (such as Stuffed Poblano Chile with its namesake Barbacoa Beef). We shared the Calamari Fritti with four different sauces which was lovely in presentation and delish! Saved for next time - they make guacomole table-side! Looks so entertaining and yummy! This review reports that surf and turf were enjoyed! One diner had the Baked Salmon, which was promptly eaten (so it must have been good) and yours truly had the special *American Waygu Ribeye Steak*. Not a staple on the menu, but a GREAT meal, especially if ribeye is a favorite cut! Pro Tip: If there is enough room for dessert, tell them you are here for a special occassion and they produce a cotton candy concoction that is sure to please! They were flying out of the kitchen on this late June Friday night visit. Hang on to your wallet! Not gonna lie, this is a pretty pricey meal, but if in the Boise area, this is a must! There is something for everyone and combined with the entertainment and low state tax ;), worth the trip! We all left happy and full and forgot all about the delayed flight! Another Pro-Tip: Oh and for those with a sense of humor, (or not), there is a small keyhole in the men's bathroom that appears to look directly into the women's room. I don't think they see anything serious, but it is cheeky for sure - ladies, make sure you are fully clothed before walking out! This will be on our regular rotation on future trips to Idaho!
