This is my new favorite Indian restaurant in Boston. The food from here is great. We got individual lunch plates from here at work and I ordered medium, it was so deliciously spicy! Even colleagues who got the mild said it was quite spicy. Then I ordered it at home and based on my previous experience ordered medium again, but I was disappointed because it was quite mild this time. Flavors and texture of the sauce were still delicious. They also sent us lots of chutneys with the appetizer which I used to spice up my dish. So now I'm not sure which spice level to order, I will probably end up ordering hot and see if I survive. In search of a good authentic and delicious Indian restaurant in the greater Boston so we can just order regularly, having been spoiled by a great restaurant in Beverly, we gave this one a try. Bought multiple dishes, vegetable samosas, pashewari naan, lentil soup. Generally relatively bland flavor, from soup to samosa to lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka masala. Lamb Jahlfrezi and Chicken curry had a slight flavor, oddly enough they taste and feel related. Pashewari naan had (maybe) a milimeter layer of the filling, and was somewhat dry. Samosas again had a relatively bland taste, and a little overdone/burnt. Soup also bland. On the plus side it was all ready on time and well packaged for takeout. The search continues. read more

I ordered online for the first time last night. Then, when I arrived I was recognized as a customer from a previous restaurant the owners had worked in. I over-ordered on purpose to get a good idea of the food quality. I had papadums, garlic and onion nan, Mango chicken, lamb Vindaloo, and Tandoori chicken, all with appropriate sauces. Rice is supplied separately. The quality was SUPERB and I enjoyed it all with enough to spare for second and third meals. You could tell they used fine quality lamb and chicken. No large bits of fat to throw away!! Spiciness was what I ordered. Totally delicious. Thank you guys and I am sure much success in the future is guaranteed. Prices are very reasonable indeed. SO SO GOOD ( Ill be saying a lot of that). Dinner was Chicken tikka masala, it was PERFECTLY seasoned with LEAN ( I hate fat and gristle) juicy white meat chicken breast in a creamy tomato sauce, simply delicious. My husband ordered the Mango chicken, we have ordered mango chicken in the past but NEVER this good!! Juicy tender chicken breast, FRESH peppers, onions and chunks of mango, BURSTING with spicy flavor! You KNOW your on to something good when you realize you haven't come up for a breath since you started eating! Entrees come in either mild, medium or spicy. We ordered the medium, if your not big on spice I would order the mild, it definitely had a kick (which I love)! For dessert ( don't judge me) we ordered the Kheer, a creamy rice type pudding with pistachios, cinnamon and other yummy spices. One must wonder why anyone would open an Indian restaurant if they don't know any Indian recipes. We ordered five curries and several apps to try out the menu. Everything tasted exactly the same - chilis and absolutely no Indian spices. No cumin, coriander, garlic, ginger, fenugreek, masala of any kind. Just absolutely god awful. I gave it two stars instead of one because at least they got it spicy. Of course I would have gotten the same flavor profile by chewing on jalapeños from my fridge. And unfortunately the saag that we ordered mild for my daughter was exactly as spicy as everything else. Makes me angry, but I know restaurants are struggling so we'll just let it go. I've tried other Indian restaurants in the Allston area, and Indian Kitchen is by far the tastiest and my new go-to! I ordered the fish masala, garlic naan, and mango lassi. The fish masala was perfectly seasoned and just the right amount of heat. I've ordered fish curries from other restaurants and the fish would be overcooked, dry, and unpleasantly chewy, but the fish masala here was anything but that. The fish was flaky and fresh. Totally recommend if you like seafood/fish dishes! The garlic naan was everything I like in a naan - soft, a little chewy, and garlicky. It tasted especially good when dipped in the curry. The mango lassi was delicious and refreshing. A little on the sweet for my liking, but still a delicious way to end a meal. I'm excited to try other things on the menu! Ordered via Uber Eats today. Delivery was fairly prompt. Food was marginal; Aloo Gobi was literally rotten, and smelled like garbage. I have to think it was reheated stuff. Ordered 3 dishes on weekend during lunch time about 4 weeks ago. Thought it was best Indian food I ever had. Fav was tofu masala. Had a hair on it but I overlooked it since it was so good. It Happens. Then ordered again 2 weekends later (6/13) during dinner time. Plastic containers were a lot smaller so portions were a lot smaller. I thought the portions were rather small. Not sure if it was changed or if it was a mistake the first time and I got too much.More troubling was the food was prepared differently. Food was OK but not awesome as before.
