    Bratwurst
    Martel W.

They just opened not long ago this February. First time trying out them out. The staff was nice and accommodating. I ordered two classic beef hot dogs, and their bratwurst on a toasted pretzel bun. The ambiance was alright. They have outdoor seating which is great on a nice sunny spring day to have a toasted brat. Overall my experience here for a work lunch was pretty good. They also make their own sausages and sell them by the pound. Pretty sizeable sausage for multiple uses. This is a good place to get away from the usual fast food.

Link Sausage and Beer Restaurant - Sausage sampler plate - 2 sausages of choice, two side items of choice and one dipping sauce

Link Sausages & Beer restaurant opened recently in Midtown Tallahassee. My dining companion and I weren't sure where to park. We parked across the street only to realize that there is ample parking behind the restaurant itself. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. This is a walk up counter order and they bring the food to your table situation. While the weather was still pleasant, my dining companion and I ate at a table outside. What made this restaurant unique to me was they make their sausages in-house. There are 9 sausages to choose from. If you go at the right time, and I'm not sure when that is, you can purchase fresh sausage to take home and cook yourself! We ordered the sausage sampler entree. It included 2 sausages and two side items with a signature sauce. My dining companion and I thought this would be the most economical way to try two sausages and two side items. We were disappointed to see that there are no buns served with these sausages. Granted, the menu does not specify that this entree will be served with buns. So be forewarned if you decide to order this option. All Link's signature sausage dogs come with various buns as noted in the menu description for each item. Why the plate of 2 didn't, was a bit of a mystery to me. We opted for the Kielbasa and Chorizo with baked beans and mac and cheese for our side items and the Roasted Garlic Aoli for the dipping sauce. My dining companion and I both enjoyed the baked beans and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was thick and the sauce clung to the macaroni. It was delicious! We would order both again! The menu also features burgers and salads, so there is something for everyone, including a vegan dog. We enjoyed the meal well enough that we want to return, but will opt to order individual sausages next time.

What a perfect fit for the midtown area!!! Eclectic sausage menu with amazing flavors that work extremely well with their partnering ingredients and sauces!!! And don't be afraid to try their turkey sausage as it has tremendous flavor!!! Enjoy and hopefully we will see you there!!!

Enjoy this new find in Midtown Tallahassee, great service and ambience! Seating both inside and outside, whatever you are wanting. Links were amazing my favorites were the chorizo and brats! They have great onion rings and pub fries as well as great dips. I also tried their new Wheat Tangerine on tap! Superb :) thank you!! We will be back

Interesting idea for an eatery. The ambience is "industrial." The service, very good. The food - quite good.

The food was delicious. The pretzel sausage dog with sautéed ions was delicious and the smash burger was too.

Really solid food and enjoyed the two links I had while visiting. The staff working was friendly and provided some great food advice.

We thought we should leave the long high top tables for larger parties. We chose to sit at a smaller table for four along the window wall. The chairs seem too short for the tables along the window. The restaurant is sleek and modern. Eye-catching decor that is visually appealing. We watched servers and management walked by our table several times in a five minute period and not a single person greeted us. We finally flagged down what appeared to be a manager, and asked if we could be served. They abruptly left the table, more minutes past, and eventually a server came to the table, dropped menus, and left. We waited another five minutes and finally flagged the server down to take our order. I've never experienced this, but the server requested a credit card immediately to start a tab. We said we were paying cash and only planning to order a sandwich and an iced tea. She stated that was the policy so if you are arriving with no credit card in hand, it is possible, you can't be served. Cash is not king here. My dining companion really wanted to try the Italian beef sandwich so we ordered one entree to split. He ordered an unsweet iced tea and I drank water. The food arrived promptly and the bowl presentation was acceptable. The sandwich is served on top of smashed potatoes that are probably baked. There was a gravy at the bottom of the bowl, which was I think was the au jus meant to dip the sandwich. The bread was not fresh. The sandwich was hot and tasty. The meal was enough for two people, but the server didn't bring a plate for the shared portion. We flagged another server and requested and received a plate. The total was $25. My dining companion had visited the restaurant for breakfast several weeks earlier. He noted the food was good and the service was efficient. I hope our visit today was not the norm because we felt totally ignored. We decided if we chose to return in the future we would have to sit at the bar to be able to be served on a timely basis, if at all.

The drinks are strong, well-priced, and there are always a wide variety of brands to choose from. The bartenders are friendly and make you feel like a regular, even if you only pop in once a month or so. That being said, this type of experience usually only applies Monday-Thursday and Sunday. Friday and Saturday are a completely different ballgame. On the weekends, Finnegan's turns from a relaxing Irish pub into a main Tallahassee music venue with Fifth & Thomas, adding swarms of people, a bouncer, seating that you have to fight for, and deafening background noise. Although the bartenders try to keep up, it's hard to to get to the bar and then even harder to have them hear your order. I know it is what it is, but it's hard to enjoy a visit hear on the weekends. Overall then, Finnegan's makes for a relaxing spot with friends on off-nights, but be prepared for what you're getting yourself into on the weekends.

The Loaded Tots were topped with warmed up ham cold cuts and shredded cheddar cheese, warm but not completely melted, ew. The only redeeming quality of the tots was the beer cheese sauce that I used to drown out the frozen tot flavor. To add insult to injury, I was served a Guinness from a bottle which is a damn disgrace given the place calls itself an Irish pub. It wasn't even a full pint of Guinness! The atmosphere was palatable but the music was some random DJ Press Play big booty remix. Why no Irish music? Or something a bit more on "theme"? And I say theme, because that is all it was, a theme. An idea in the ether that remained unfulfilled in reality, and is only supported by the numbing effect of the spirits on the visitor who must pretend they are in an Irish Pub.
