Will start by saying we typically stay at camping resorts vs. campgrounds. There wasn't many reviews on the camping section of Indian ranch when we were looking so I thought writing one would be beneficial to others. We have a 40ft fifth wheel for reference. I wasn't able to make reservations online but after calling I was able to get a site for two nights to take my daughters to a show. There wasn't much info online about the campground, what it offers, and the rules and what not so we went into this pretty blind. I did ask on phone if it was full hookups, as that is important to us and they said all sites are full hookups up which is great! There is no "check in" time which was nice to not have to aim for a certain time but I did call and check and let them know an estimated arrival time. Upon arrival, they had a staff member on a golf cart waiting outside office and brought us to our site. He was very nice, friendly, and answered any questions I had while my husband was parking the camper. The sites are tight!!! That being said we have a large camper with slides on both sides. Thankfully no campers were on either side of us so it didn't take him long to get into the spot. Our site specifically was mixed with rocks and grass, was fine just slim. We did have some shade on the afternoon from the trees to the back of camper. There's a gas station with a subway and honey dew walking distance away which was nice to get a coffee at in the morning and grab anything I forgot to pack. This campground is mostly seasonal, I think the man said they had maybe 13? On rotation for weekenders. The campers that are there are very friendly, mostly older without kids but very nice and didn't seem to mind ours. Some campers seemed a little run down, but to each their own, there was a good mix. Seemed pretty quiet at night time and wasn't anyone overly loud. The next day we went to a show, it was really hot, like 90 degrees. They had a "cooling station" I didn't check it out but they did mention it. The pavilion is also right on the lake and a few kids went in the water cause it was really how in the sun. We did general admission as we've never been before and it's like bleachers on the sides and first come first serve. There's also an area in the way back that has picnic tables. The staff were nice down there as well. The slushy machines weren't freezing cause it was too hot, but that's 100% reasonable. Other than that we just got water. We tried the restaurant one night, it was ok. The bar was busy as they were having a boat cruise that night. The restaurant section was like 50% full. The chicken tenders were really good, burgers looked good and my kids like them. The view was pretty even with indoor seating. We made reservations and were sat promptly. Our server however was ehhh. Took about 10+ minutes to greet us and take order. After that food came out in reasonable time and was good. We maybe saw server once about checking on us but maybe she herself was busy? Check came out around $90 for two adults and three kids with no alcohol. Reasonable and fine, most staff were friendly, ours just seemed annoyed by us. We didn't check out the pool at all as we only stayed for a few days. The kids took a dip in the lake after the show when everyone left. We were the only ones down there. A family member who has friends seasonal there told me after the fact that we were supposed to use the beach? Unsure on this is it's true or not but staff saw us down there and didn't say anything to us and left us alone. There were picnic tables down there with umbrellas which were nice and at this time of the day there was a little breeze. Will attach photos of our site and the gas station across from us a few sites away. Some may not like that but we did. Overall I wouldn't book here for a weekend away but we would def book if we were going to another show at the venue. Never went to the bathrooms but the bathroom in restaurant was clean and nice. read more

Headed to Indian ranch today to see Elle King, the venue is on a lake and has a beautiful view!! There is a covered section and then seating that is not covered. It did rain today with some lightning they stopped the show and told everyone they had to go to their cars, it was a bit confusing. After about 45 mins the show went on!! There is alcohol to purchase and typical fried food and snacks. There is also a restaurant on site that looked pretty good if you want to sit down and eat. I have so many wonderful memories of this place. Over the years I emceed so many concerts here that I can't recall them all. My favorite every year was to hang with my friend Charlie Daniels every year. He said a new attendance record year after year and he had a special place in his heart for this venue and the people here. His last show here was just two year ago and it was a great one. Indian Ranch is on my list of places to see a show during my regular visits to Massachusetts just like Fenway and Sullivan Stadium depending on the season. This great place is a rustic music venue in middle of central Massachusetts nestled in the woods that's hosting live outdoor entertainment since 1946, making it one of the oldest concert venues in the country. It's on Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg (yes that's it's name) but a lot of folks just call it Webster Lake. The seats are all bench seating and the comfort level is what you would expect for stadium benches. The venue is always clean and well maintained with food and beverages at moderate prices, parking is quick and easy but there can be some issues (more on that later), bathrooms are clean but there's not a lot of them and the sound systems are really good from everywhere. About the parking at Indian Ranch, there's not enough free parking so parking can be at a premium with vendors along the street that will let you park on their private property lots, most of them homes from anywhere between $10 to $30 dollars depending on the concert and distance. The answer is get there early. Past music artists include Barenaked Ladies, Huey Lewis & The News, ZZ Top, Peter Frampton, Gavin DeGraw, 38 Special, BB King, The Mavericks, Pat Benatar, The Beach Boys, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, LeAnn Rimes, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton and a lot more. There's more happening there than just shows, it's home to the Indian Ranch Campground that's made up of 200 sites, the campground includes full hook-ups, 50 amp service, free wifi and more. You can camp for the weekend, month or entire season! There's also the lovely new Samuel Slater's restaurant on the property has a legit chef with tasty and creative food and pretty views of the water. The people running parking, security and merch were very rude.They do not accept credit cards to park. They told my mom who was carrying my dad's cancer pills her bag was a hare to big when we've seen 10 people with bags the same size then the merch guy insulted me by suggesting a huge size. My road is adjacent to Indian Ranch and the gate cuts off the campground from the residences of road. We had an emergency and a tree fell and the campground refused to let people go through because of a stupid concert! We live on this road and this is an access point and people need to go to work or to pick up their kids. so this was a real dick move read more

Came to Indian Ranch to see "Cheap Trick". This is my first time here, and my friends and I arrived on boat. The venue was very nice. Docks looked pretty new, the "Indian Princess" was docked and that was a fun thing to see! What I could see of their newer restaurant, looked very nice on the outside! Plenty of kiosks selling beer and other drinks, and prices honestly didn't seem to outrageous for a concert venue. Just one food kiosks that did have long lines, but the staff that was serving were very efficient and kept the line moving! I didn't mind waiting because I got chatting to the other folks in line and that's always fun! Indian Ranch offeres the usual hamburgers/ hotdogs, and also sausage w/ onions and peppers and a chicken wrap, with other sandwich type items available! Again, prices were not to outrageous. I ordered the sausage w/ onions and peppers and a side of fries. Everything was good, fries were the crispy style! The restrooms by the main entrance is why I only gave 4 stars. These are very dated, some of the doors don't even lock and the facets in some of the sinks are broken- even for cold water! This is a popular venue that attracts A LOT of people every year! I really believe that there has to be some money in the budget to give these restrooms an overhaul and provide their patrons with better facilities. I'm not sure if there's other restrooms on site, but these could use some attention! Amphitheater was cozy for sure! Not a lot of room between each other as it's bench seating. The view of the band was limiting, as folks in front were standing and the seating wasn't that steep to be able to compensate for that. Regardless of that, we all had a great time and I would def go back. Arriving by boat was the way to do it! Slips were $25, and we were able to bring our own refreshments, and go back and forth to the boat as we pleased. Staff and patrons were all friendly- it was a great experience! read more

Cool Spot and Setup Love Indian Ranch. It's a bit hillbilly, but it is part of the charm. This is a great outdoor venue that sits right on Webster Lake. This is real throwback to the venues of old where you can drink and party in the parking lot without being harassed before the show. Terrible customer service!! To be completely specific Jayne Suprenant. She was left messages, she was sent emails, Bonnie at the front desk gave her messages for me, and she took WEEKS to get back to me. I bought tickets to an event that had the wrong time of day listed. I couldn't make the actual time, just the time listed online. I called immediately after purchasing the tickets and had to harass them for weeks before anyone responded to me. They did nothing for me, even though it was their mistake. I bought a season ticket for the concerts here, the bands/people that came were great and they all put on a great show but I have to say I won't ever do it again. A friend and I bought the season ticket under the impression that we got all the benefits that Indian Ranch listed on their website. We did NOT get early entrance like it said. When we asked about it they said we needed to be in the correct line so for the following shows we went to said line. They still did not let us in early and continually gave a hard time at every show. When trying to use our pass for the discount for concessions they didn't know what to do with it. During the show a "security" guard always stood in the way, no matter where in GA we sat. The drinks were never consistent in size but always the overpriced. Also having designated spot for smoking but allowing people to smoke whatever they want wherever they wanted. read more

After about 30 years of attending shows at this venue I think my friends and I are done. Yesterday we went to see Josh Turner one of my favorite singers. figured I would get good seats. row 8 center. Two rows behind the secured area. The seats were not cheap. almost $70.00 after fees etc. Attached is the view from our seats obstructed only because of YOUR security. and when we said something we were told there was nothing that could be done. REALLY? my friend even went to say something to Management and she was told the same.......When would this ever be acceptable? This is so unacceptable. Please explain to me why you as a venue would allow this and charge the prices that you do to see a show? My wife and friends had dinner Saturday night at Samuel Slaters Restaurant. It turns out that it was the first day the restaurant re-opened and although I have never been there before I would have to guess that they were in mid-season form. Service was great (thank you Melodie) and the food fantastic. We sat outside and had a view of the lake. What more could you ask for after the pandemic winter we shared. We ordered the shrimp appetizer and they were enormous, fresh and reasonably priced. When Melodie explained that they were known for BBQ I was pleasantly suprised. I ordered the three meat plate and the barbeque was great,. My ribs had a nice char to them and the different sauce choices they left at our table allowed us to sample all the different flavors to see which ones we liked, which was fun! The beans were unbelievable (best I ever had). I was so full when I finally tasted them I was shocked. I barely had any room for them!!!. They had an amazing smoky flavor and we passed them around and everyone agreed. Very different in a very good way! Not to be outdone, the cornbread and special butter accompanying them was equally delicious. It took us an hour to drive back to Boston which was not bad. We will be back to visit our friends and their new camper and definitely come back to Sam Slaters! What a treat! To think they just opened up is amazing given our wonderful experience. I was there for a concert a few weeks ago. The concert was awesome and I really like everything about it except the security. One particular staff member was extremely rude to me for no reason. It appears they anticipated a very rowdy crowd and that didn't happen. They need to revisit their policies and certainly need to hire experienced people that know what they're doing. Great little rural outdoor concert venue with some covered seats too. Big variety to pick from in music genres. Been going there since I was a kid. Samuel Slater restaurant which is also on site has great food in this beautiful new 2-story building perfect for events. They also have bands there on the bottom floor! Indian princess cruise has always been a fun little ride with music. Get in line early so you can get to the bar for a drink quick. Service has been slow at the bar. I just moved into the campground and we were welcomed by the Welcome Committee with a thoughtful bucket of things a camper needs. Celebrated a camper Thanksgiving in style. Everyone pitched in, the decorations were beautiful. Everyone made us feel welcome and we were treated with respect and dignity by management. We went twice this year (1st time at this venue for us). The 1st show we got there right at 2:00, it didn't say there was an opening act on the web page so we didn't know to go earlier. We thought maybe the show would really start at 2:15. There was a huge line of people waiting to have their ID's checked to be able to buy a drink once they got it. Well the act started as we were in line exactly at 2:00, so they had about 200 angry people standing in line outside the event waiting for the just 2 girls to put wristbands on everyone. Poor planning for them. Once we got in things were fine, but it was a bummer to not be inside for the first 2-3 songs. The venue is smallish so we really liked it. Think half the size of the Bank Boston Pavillion. The general admission seats are uncovered and I can't imagine going on a hot sunny day since you'd probably fry on the metal benches. They do have a concession stand with really bad cheap burgers and other fried food available. The second show we went to that was also supposed to start at 2:00 (we got there at 1:30 this time) but didn't start until just after 3:00. So plan all you want, you might either be late or sitting there for eternity! I'm giving it 4 stars because it's such a small venue, it's outdoors and casual & a nice way to spend a summer afternoon. Although some other reviewer seemed upset about ticket prices I though under $50 to see a band I like is not bad given what some venues charge. read more

Live music, outdoors, summertime. What else do you need? For a small local venue, you can't beat IR. Love that concerts are in the afternoon so you aren't dragging the next day. Staff is super friendly,parking is free (if you get there in time. Depending on the act you might end up paying to park at nearby locations). Easy place to bring the family to enjoy music. Others complained about concert goers being drunk. Seriously, have you been to any larger venues recently? Drinkers at IR are tame in comparison. You won't see falling down, incoherent 20 year olds here who are only interested in taking selfies. People come here to enjoy the music first and foremost. Prices are reasonable for everything (beer, food, tix). Every seat has a good view (the advantage of a small venue) and if you're lucky, you can mingle with the artists before the show or catch an autograph after. The only drawback? Weather. Keep your eye on the forecast and plan accordingly! You are outdoors after all. read more

Went to see Charlie Daniels at Indian Ranch. It is a great smaller venue for an outside concert. Reminded me of the original Great Woods before that became soooooo commercialized. Indian Ranch ticket prices were a little high for outside seating in a small venue, but the concert was great, can't believe Charlie Daniels can still play like he did many years ago, and still sing too. But the location was awesome, you can wander around the concert area to the little beach, and the lake area, that is there for the campground. Get your feet wet and go right back up to your seat. Where else can you do that? There are picnic tables for people that want to bring coolers, (without alcohol) but you can get the wrist band to be able to buy your drinks. Many people had packed full coolers and went in groups, it was like a concert at their private cook out. The concession stand food was good and I think reasonably priced compared to bigger venues. I had a bacon cheeseburger for 5 bucks, and it tasted flame grilled. Mixed Drinks were 7.00 for Absulute vodka and 7 in a 12 ounce plastic cup. That's pretty good pricing. Not sure about the beer, don't drink it, but I can tell you it's cold, they were coming out of ice water, and people were saying " ahhh COLD" an awful lot. And there are plenty of bathrooms! They even had souvenirs it a cute little shack, in addition to the normal concert items at the vendor tables. With the woods around you, open fun and the ability to walk around the area and still enjoy the show, I give this place 5 stars. My only complaint was that they closed the concession stand and bar about 20 minutes Before the end of the concert. Had we known that was going to happen we would have gotten up sooner to get another drink to enjoy while the traffic was moving out of the area. There Is parking there on the grounds but the locals all use their front lawns on that street and sell a parking space for $10. It was so funny to watch, but good on them. Gotta put up with all that traffic on concert days, literally right across the street, may as well make 300.00 bucks in the process. I would !! Next year we are going to look into getting a space in campground for the concert. What a cool thing to do, camp out with your friends, walk over for the concert, and party on when it's over!! Very disappointed in ticket prices and the way they've changed the seating arrangements. IMO they over priced themselves. And Changing the general seating area really sucks. We used to go 3-4 Times A year. Now can't afford to go at all because of price for Tickets. Always went to see Charlie Daniels and won't be doing that anymore. Too bad. Maybe when they start losing customer because of ticket prices they'll go back to reasonable Prices. And seating back. Or at least have the back seats under canopy for some general seating. read more

I was at the Indian Ranch for the first time on August 20th, 2011. I went to see the band Barenaked Ladies. I went with two friends, as well as a bunch of my family. When we walked in, security wasn't too bad. They didn't pat us down or anything. What I got when I walked in was a very down-to-earth and laid back venue. They provide you with grills, and you also get a beautiful lake-side view. Everyone seemed very friendly, and I didn't have any problems with anyone being rude. It just had a very homey vibe. The venue has a great setup. The stage and seating areas were nice. A very basic, yet country-ish design. The seats were also comfortably roomy. I didn't feel cramped or anything. Once the show started, the venue staff were not strict in the slightest. If there were any seats that weren't taken, you could walk right up and sit in them. No problem. The sound quality was magnificent. Probably even the best I've heard. Nice and loud, very crisp. The levels were just right. Probably one of my favorite music venues (that I've been to anyways). I went to a Bacon Brothers concert in July 2012 and a Marshall Tucker Band concert in August 2013 and both times we had simply perfect weather at Indian Ranch. The concert venue is very intimate and you can react well with the band !! Food and drink is very reasonable and the backdrop behind the concert stage is beautiful with a view of the lake and the beach !! Unless you are a drunk or like to be surrounded by drunks, this is not the place to enjoy a concert. Who gets drunk on a Sunday at Noon?? I paid $200 for four general admission tix only to be seated on stage right, in the backless green benches for the Willie concert. There was also no handicap parking when we arrived. Willie had a grand piano on stage that entirely blocked seeing him and his music was drowned out by the belligerent drunks that surrounded us. It's a great venue and it's too bad the class of people they attract can ruin a good time. If the town had a DUI check at the exit....they could lower rates with the revenue they collect..... read more

This was my first time going to Indian Ranch I went to see Big and Rich the music was great. I liked the idea of the small venue for this concert. The person that I went with has been going to Indian Ranch since 2000. We were very happy with the price of the food. However we were both very disappointed with the way that now people are allowed to stand during the performance. I feel that for the price that we paid for our tickets we couldn't even see them. In the past the person I was with said that they use to announce before the performance that you had to sit down. This would of been great for the people in section 7. Because of this experience I am not sure if I would go back again. I did see that the security was good at keeping people moving and did keep telling people to keep moving in the walkway. I hope that the management team takes this posting as a way to change things. I like going to the small venue like this but I am unable to stand for the whole performance. read more
