We are so glad that they have their dining room open. We have ordered takeout a few times and have thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food. We finally de used to eat in. It was excellent. They of course followed social distancing guidelines for those interested. The ambience of the place is great. The decor and the music playing fit right in. But most of all the food and the staff were outstanding. Our server was polite, quick, and extremely attentive and friendly. The food came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The cracker like bread they give you upon arrival has cumin seeds in it and really tastes delicious. Pairs well with the condiments on the table. They have a full bar so my lady ordered a bar drink and I had a non-alcoholic beer. Kids had water and soda. We had Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandoori Chicken app, and the Lamb Rogan Josh. We also had the jalapeño appetizer and the cheese sticks. The cheese sticks are different than mozzarella sticks, so don't expect melted cheese. But I will say they are delicious. Fantastic for people with gluten and dairy allergies. They're able to accommodate because majority of menu is gluten free and anything that has dairy can be substituted with coconut milk! This used to be my favorite Indian restaurant. The food is still good but the staff doesn't seem happy. I know restaurants are stressful now and understaffed, but they used to smile and greet you and check how you are doing and say thank you and make you feel valued as a customer. Now, no smiles, no greetings, avoiding eye contact, longer waits, etc. I've been coming since they opened, loyal customer, brought friends, posted on social media to promote them. We went in there one night and it seemed kind of busy. So, we stood there and waited for someone to notice us. After five minutes, and I seriously mean five minutes, no one had even so much as looked our way other than other patrons that were dining and looking around as if they were thinking, "is anyone going to acknowledge these people?" There's not really a reception area, you just stand there amongst tables once you get inside the door and we honestly kind of felt foolish just standing there for so long. It was almost embarrassing. So we left and we went across the street to another restaurant. Anyway, I also left a review on another site and I just noticed that they responded with a real negative response. Instead of apologizing [since they have the opportunity to do so], they just acted as as if I was harassing him. Here is their response in my follow up and my response to it: INDIAN TWIST's Response: You visited feb 17 th 2018. And u are leaving a review after one year that was one night that system went down and no one was able to come talk to u But I still remember you and your friend and then u went to la hasinda restaurant across the street. Thought u were a business person yourself What happened at the restaurant was a mistake and what u doing is deliberate. Thank you. MY Response: Listen to your horrible response. Instead of making excuses and accusing me of whatever it is you're accusing me of, how about saying something like, "I am sorry that you had such an unfortunate experience (explain what happened), please try us again again in the future." But no, instead, you come across as both defensive and insulted. I really do not care what the problem was that night, all you had to do was say, "Hello, someone will be right with you." There was a person at the bar that chose to ignore us. Do not even try to tell me that you remember us, you didn't even know we were there. What you remember is the review I left for you all over social media. I also mentioned that we left and went to La Hacienda across the street and we were greeted very warmly and professionally. That's what you remember. There's no way you remember us standing in your restaurant looking like fools for five minutes. In fact, people that were seated at other tables were looking around uncomfortably as if they were wondering, "Is anyone going to greet them?" Your guests felt sorry for us. We had such an great evening here for dinner! Impeccable service, combined with the delicious food and cozy ambiance... we'll definitely be back here for a 5-star experience at Indian Twist. And definitely get the Chicken Tikka Masala! My fiancé and I were feeling Indian cuisine and found this spot to be of high rating on Yelp. When we arrived, we were greeted and seated right away. Our server was very professional. He had wonderful recommendations and was very knowledgeable about the menu and restaurant. We eventually ordered the Chicken Tandoori appetizer, followed by the Lamb Biryani, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Garlic Naan as our main course. All medium. The Chicken Tandoori was very good; very well spiced and marinated. Plus the chicken was very juicy. We squeezed limes on them based on the server's recommendation and man, that extra zing was so good! The Lamb Biryani was also excellent. The rice was cooked perfectly and they didn't skimp on the lamb! The server brought out a yummy yogurt-based sauce for us to try it with the Biryani and it was excellent. And finally... our favorite was definitely the Chicken Tikka Masala! The curry was amazing, wonderfully creamy, and spiced. The chicken was also very tender. I also had a boozy Lassi cocktail that was yummy. I really want to acknowledge our amazing server. As beginners in Indian cuisine, we greatly appreciated the extra care he took of us. We had lunch there today. I've eaten there several other times and have been remiss in not writing a review. The owner does a lot of work with Afghan refugees and when I donated some furniture it was picked up in the Indian Twist truck. The restaurant was highly recommended and I went there the next day with my friend and her dog. We sat outside on the patio and the owner came out to light the heaters and make sure we were comfortable. I took my niece for her birthday and went back today. Every experience has been great. The servers are always friendly and attentive. Today we had chicken samosas as an appetizer... piping hot, crisp, and delicious. I had butter chicken (mild because I knew I'd be bringing leftovers to my husband). It was excellent. Seasoned perfectly, chicken very tender. The rice was excellent too. We also had naan...nice and hot and tasty. My friend had chicken something with rice (I forget). She said it was great. We sat outside (my husband has a bad cancer and is severely immunocompromised so I have to be careful) and it was very pleasant. Nice breeze and there are screens to keep the bugs out. Had their lunch buffet today- our first visit here. Solid food, but a bit inconsistent with the seasoning. The garlic naan (freshly cooked and served hot and crispy!) was good, but bland. The same with the samosas -- both could have used a good bit of salt. The curries were fine, but I bit into a cardamom pod which isn't pleasant. This is the closest Indian restaurant to our house and we might give it another try, but we've definitely had better Indian food in Tucson. Service was very prompt and friendly. After reading this New in Town business, I decided to visit them to provide fresh first hand review. I went on weekend for buffet lunch. I was right away upset The moment I looked at their serving menu. No variety, nothing at all offered in menu. It was just plain rice, regular veggie curries, chicken curry, goat curry, and the menu ended. I was expecting more from the new in the town business. The tastes were very basic, no new and pale except their sweets on menu Carrot Halava and Gulabjamun. Liked those. I did not found anything great about this place. I believe that a buffet service very much gives idea of the restaurants taste and their food service approach. Conclusion: Wont recommend this place for Indian food. Also they need to get in more professional staff. Loved it. Have been wanting to come here for awhile, and it was worth the wait. They don't have the buffet anymore, but the big portions more than made up for it. They gave us extra rice to go, which made it enough for two meals. First off, the garlic naan was really good, buttery and delicious. I had the paneer tikka masala, and it was swimming in creamy sauce. Maybe Just a tad too salty, and spicier than I was expecting for "medium". First time eating Indian fare. While staff not overly attentive they were there when necessary and were timely. No waiting. Pretty quick service on Friday evening. I'd highly recommend the Buttered chicken, Fish tikka, and naan. You can skip the Roti, it wasn't as good as other places I've had Roti before. If you love Indian food and you haven't made it over to Indian Twist, I would highly suggest putting it on your agenda for your next dining adventure. My partner and I are pretty picky when it comes to top-notch Indian food. There are several restaurants in Tucson that we frequent monthly. That being said, Indian Twist wins our award for best Indian food in Tucson. Since they opened, we have been to Indian Twist three times. Every time, I say I'm going to try something new, but the Matar Paneer we shared the first time we went lingers in my memories as one of the best Indian meals I've ever had and I can never resist ordering it again. The amount of flavor this restaurant packs into each dish is amazing. I highly recommend their garlic basil naan as an appetizer if you are hungry. It's out of this world. The portion sizes are really good, so much so that the two of us usually share a dish when we go, and we both still leave full with little damage done to the wallet. Always a plus. Each time we have been to Indian Twist the customer service has been really great. A great example of this was today when we stopped by for lunch. Mid way through the meal the manager came by to check on us and ask how we liked the food and how everything was. His tone and demeanor were so genuine, like he truly cared about the experience we were having. To me, this is an excellent marker of a well run establishment that cares about their business and their customers' happiness. If this restaurant keeps giving customer service on this level while turning out flavor-packed dishes like they have been, they will easily hold the reputation for the top spot in Tucson for great Indian food. read more

Indian Twist is awesome. I've been to this specific building location before many times as no restaurant seems to be able to stay there for too long. However, having gone to Indian Twist might just change the fate of this location. The ambiance and decor of the restaurant is really cool, and I like that you can see the tandoori oven as you enter. Very obviously there is a full bar but what makes it better is that they have a selection of Indian beers! If you're a nondrinker, that's okay because the food here is probably the best of any Indian restaurants centrally located in Tucson. The chef specials include the butter chicken which was the best I've had in Tucson and you could definitely ask for the spice level of your choice. The chicken tikka masala was also very good and they don't skimp on the meat. One of the best things about Indian Twist though is the fact that they have Peshwari naan. Not every Indian restaurant carries this naan. It goes by many different names (Kashmiri/Kabuli/Peshwari) but in general it's the sweet naan and usually come with coconuts/cherries/almonds/raisins inside. There are many different versions but Indian Twist's was very fragrant and delicious! Again, I think this is one of the best Indian restaurants in Tucson, because of the quality of the food, the customer service and the location. I'll definitely be coming back. read more

I am from Toronto and have travelled through India, so I've had my fair share of excellent Indian cuisine. Indian Twist is by far the best Indian food I've had in Arizona (and on par with the best I've had in the world)! Fresh and inspired, the flavor and spice is perfection! The veggie samosas will live in my dreams until the next time I can taste these little pockets of wander and love. Soft tasty insides dynamically contrast with the crispy savory shell - SO GOOD! We also immensely enjoyed the pappadum, dahl makhani, shrimp tikka masala, garlic basil naan, roti, rice and side sauces! I highly recommend all of these dishes, each brining a uniquely delicious flavor and preparation that complemented one another beautifully! The cheese fingers made a lovely addition to our main course, but would not recommend as a stand-alone appetizer (get the samosas!!!). The decor is modern and inviting and the staff is lovely. Where to begin...let's start with the appearance. The restaurant looks good. The lights were what attracted me the most. The metal work was gorgeous. Now for the service. My boyfriend and I decided to come in here about an hour before they closed one night. Service was decent, but massively timid. We felt like we had to lead the waitress through putting our order in even though the restaurant was nearly empty. After we ordered, the waitress kept on coming back to apologize for the wait time, even though it was not taken long at all. She kinda made me feel like a brute and I always try to be a polite customer (no living being deserves to be treated badly at any point). Also the cocktails were not worth the cost. I got the twisted lemonade, which is supposed to have black salt in it... there was no salt. The food was really good. The crispy popadon was crunchy and had a wonderful flavor of cardamon. The garlic, basil Naan was perfectly cooked - grilled on the bottom, soft on the top, and the garlic was perfectly cooked. Just to be picky, I would say add a little more salt to round out garlic flavor. We got the tandoori chicken for an appetizer and that was by far the best dish of the night. It came out on a sizzling platter with veggies that were charred on the outside, but only just warm on the inside. The chicken itself was carmelized, juicy, had some amazing spices on the outside, and overall pure chicken bliss. When they serve your entrees, they serve it in dishes with rice in a separate dish which makes it perfect for sharing and tasting numerous types of food. I got the chicken vindaloo which had some rich spices, and thick chunks of chicken and potatoes. When they ask what spice level you want, order one level less than you expect - even with all of the rich flavor this stuff is hot. My boyfriend got the shrimp tikka masala. This one order one spice level higher because he ordered it medium and I got no spice what so ever. I also have to admit, I do not know Indian food, but I don't think tikka masala is supposed to be sweet. If I am wrong I sincerely apoligize. It was simply not my favorite dish. I hope that the wait staff gets more confident in what they do because I feel that this place will do well based on the flavors of most of the food. read more
