My first thought walking in here: "dannnnng, this place is hip!" It's like a high-end meditation retreat meets Japanese lounge meets Scandinavian furniture boutique. It's unlike anything else in Anchorage. I ordered a curry special I saw advertised on their FB page, and it was excellent! It was a Japanese-style curry, not very common in Anchorage. This means the sauce is brown, mild, and gravy-like, rather than being coconut milk-based and spicy. Still, it really hit the spot after walking out in the cold on a sunny winter day. I also ordered a matcha latte with coconut milk. It was fantastic, but not as hot (temperature-wise) as I was expecting. With a Yelp check-in I received a free blueberry scone, it was fantastic! You can tell it's homemade from scratch! Service was a little slow, but maybe they were understaffed? (I came at an odd time inbetween lunch and dinner). I will definitely be back! (I'd love to do a super-fancy "tea time")

Came here for afternoon tea the other week. A lot of people rave about this place but I wasn't too impressed. It was $32/PP for their Afternoon Tea Service. I didn't feel like it was really worth the price. Most of the treats seemed like they were from Costco, but their little sandwiches were really yummy. Service needs a bit of work. Nobody really comes back to check on you. We didn't get any silverware when the treat tower was dropped off and nobody came back for a long time, so we had to get up and walk to the front counter to ask for some. The tea was decent. I had the Moroccan Mint and it had great flavors.

Unfortunately the espresso machine wasn't working and I was really looking forward to a White Mocha and I didn't really want a tea but I was happy with the Peppermint tea I ordered. They have a huge selection of teas, tea pots, and tea infusers, and the seating area was very quiet and comfortable.

A rather large tea shop that also serves food!!!! That's a pleasant surprise. Tea is tea, but this place is not just a tea shop. The ambiance with the customer service makes this place where you want your next get together with friends, families, and business partners. It's quiet, isolated, great interior design, and just straight up comfortable. Definitely a pick above Starbucks or even most local coffee shops where I will continue to return. I'm glad to have this shop in Anchorage, adds to our lacking culture. Plus, it's conveniently located next to many stores I visit often anyway!

We did the tea service on a Saturday for two adults and a child. It was quiet and quint. Until the service actually started. The annoying shoe shuffle of the server with hot pink hair was off putting to the whole environment. I don't know what I did to the server with hot pink hair but according to her, I did something. The teas were slammed onto the white table with pink stains resulting in some tea splotching out of the cute little pots. Our teas were steeped too long resulting in a bitter chai and VERY bitter golden assam. The table next to us didn't even get tea in her pot, just hot water. The server with the hot pink hair didn't even tell us what we were looking at on our tier of food. She did for the table next to us and announced to everyone in the lounge that the person sitting by themselves that their date hasn't arrived but she should order. Some decorum and consistency would be helpful in type of setting especially since we're paying $39 per adult! We were checked on once and wanted to ask for a refill for our tea but decided to just leave. I love the atmosphere but the lack of professionalism by the server with hot pink hair left a horrid taste in this experience. Our total was $115 for all of us but we'll never come back. First impressions from servers in an establishment matters.

Ok cute quiet study area!! Major plus Also my jasmine green boba was surprisingly good. Considering the other places I've tried around here in Anchorage :)

16 oz brown sugar bubble tea! Sooo tasty

Perfect little tea shop with tea, coffee, bubble tea, and tons of honey and cute tea sets to choose from. I was the only customer in shop when I visited and I had the opportunity of getting to know the employee. She was so kind and informative on the types of tea, tea sets, and little tidbits bits of information pertaining to them. She recommended I get the brown sugar bubble tea and boy oh boy was it good. Sweet, but not overly sweet. The boba pearls were also sweet and soft - I've been to a lot of tea shops that dont cook their boba long enough or the boba gets hard when it becomes cold, but Indigo Tea Lounges boba was perfect. I highly recommend stopping by if you're a tea or coffee lover. You wont be disappointed!

    Afternoon High Tea

For a fun LEISURELY afternoon, I would recommend Indigo's high tea. The tea sandwiches are fresh and delicious and the pastries are also top-notch. The little Star cookie had a spice added that was just enough to set it apart and made me curious as to what was added so I asked. I won't give it up here....but delicious and subtle. The mini-pumpkin spice cupcakes topped with cream cheese icing are also delightful and perfection! And if you have ever seen "Curb Your Enthusiasm's" episode on who has the better scones at the coffee shops, Indigo's scone would win hands down! I emphasized leisurely because the service between choosing the tea to actually receiving the tea was a tad bit slow for me. Maybe it's supposed to be a slow enjoyable high tea. But 15 minutes from the time to ordering to the time of receiving the tea is too long IMHO. And then the 3 tiered tea tray took another 30 minutes! Other than this, great spot with nice seating areas to enjoy a proper high tea. I think what also would be nice is to offer a flight of 3 tea choices to enjoy with your tea time sandwiches and pastries.

Love love love love love love love LOVE Indigo. Hip. Friendly staff. Awesome vibes. Awesome selection of teas. Spot-on prices. Outstanding lunch specials. Free wifi. Anchorage needs more places like Indigo. I go there about once a month to stock up on matcha and loose leaf teas. But wow, I decided to grab a bite when I was there the other day and was BLOWN AWAY by their lunch special. 12.95 for a soup or salad & sandwich special. It came with a full sized salad, fruit and a huge sandwich. Um, I don't know very many places in Anchorage that offer that much food at that price. And the quality was 5 star all the way. I don't know what my sandwich was cause I told the girl to surprise me, but it was amazing... some kind of cold curried chicken salad. And the bacon and beet blue cheese salad was so delish. I'm looking to coming here for tea service sometime. I think they said it was 20 bucks or something like that and the food looked like it would be really good. Totally gonna have to check that out. I believe they said they only do it Fri-Sun, but don't quote me on that. This would be an excellent location for small parties, book club meetings, things like that. If you want to meet with a small group of people and just relax and enjoy delicious hot drinks and food, I highly HIGHLY recommend Indigo.

Still love this place. If not, even more! I found my new boba spot. Their boba was chewy and not too sweet. They actually used their tea to make it, which I think most places just use powder. I can't say enough good things about this place. I've tried their Brown sugar and Matcha Green tea with boba. They are so delicious that I think they're the best boba in town. Still such a cute place!

My favorite boba spot in town!! They don't use powder and the boba is the perfect chewy texture. I like their black and brown sugar milk teas. Yumm :)

The family that owns and operates this gem is Greek and they are not only amazing cooks, but they care about their community!! I have been there eating several times this winter and obviously homeless people would come to the door and be given water, hot soup, half a sandwich, etc. that just made me love this place more. Now to the food. First of all I had the meatball sub which was not only delicious but super filling. The meat was very well seasoned, and the fresh basil just made the marinara pop even more, add the freshly shaved Parmesan cheese and you've got something special. The homemade bread puts this thing into overdrive! Crispy on the outside, light, delicate but not falling apart and heavy enough to hold together all that deliciousness without being filling like you just ate a large pizza. Now to the ridiculous tomato basil soup. I love the clam chowder but the tomato basil is my favorite. Savory, full of flavor, smooth, creamy and not greasy. This in my opinion is the perfect pairing to the meatball sub. You're welcome! The customer service here is amazing too just like the owners and the food. You will always be greeted by a smiling face, and treated like family. You will not regret stopping here. I've eaten the Meatball sub, The Philly, the lasagna and The Gyro ( lamb and chicken) all have been 10 out of 10. The ambiance is like a neighborhood dinner with a small dining room. You will love it!

The store on Ulmerton Rd. In Largo, FL proved us correct. The store was orderly and clean and full of customers enjoying their meals. I always order the Italian with extra ham and no spicy ham, and a scoop of sweet peppers from the grill. My husband orders the Club, Mike's way, with extra onions and light mayo. The meal was very satisfying, but that wasn't only due to the quality ingredients. The two young men behind the counter, Ethan and Ollie were engaging and friendly, making the customers feel right at home. Unfortunate that this is the day I decided it was about time I left a review for House Of Bread…read more House of Bread is a lovely space, airy light dining room, and lots of baked goods, and artisanal-looking jarred goods. It feels very open. They have a menu on the wall, and a chalkboard with the types of bread available that day. Husband orders cheesy broccoli soup, and she tells him "it's not really cheesy broccoli soup, it's got lots of veggies in it too" ok, he says, but still orders a bowl. I choose Tuna Salad, and I select 14 grain as my bread choice - "sorry, we're out of that", so I then choose 9 grain - "sorry, we're out of that", and so I ask for marbled rye - "sorry, we're out of that too" I'm really quite surprised, as it's 12.30 like prime lunch time, and they're out of 3 breads already? Maybe cross them off your chalkboard, so you don't have to keep disappointing people. So i choose focaccia with my fingers crossed, and all was well. The order was complete at 12.36. We sit. We wait. Twiddling our fingers. By 20 minutes I'm becoming impatient, because I'm hangry, and the dining room is not that full - maybe 5 tables. As there are 4 staff working behind the counter (could be more round the back in the bakery) I think service could be faster, to dish up a bowl of premade soup, and assemble a cold tuna salad sandwich. Anyway i get my eye on the young man making sandwiches. He's not wearing gloves, is running his fingers through his hair, and touching his face. I see a sandwich that was on the top of the shelf, and it either fell, or he threw it, onto presumably a bench below, and then reach up angrily for a new bag of bread, I don't know - maybe he made it wrong, and was starting over. By 1.02, (26 minutes later) husband could take it no more and went to get a refund. This is not the review I expected to be leaving today, as I've never had service like this here before. I've never gone here before and had to choose my bread 4 times, due to them running out. I've never had to wait so long for lunch using pre-made ingredients. I don't know what was going on, but it's nothing like all the other times we've been here, and I hope it's a one off. If I go back and see the same staff, I'll just walk straight out again and avoid another experience like this one.

My friend wanted to stop by on her way from work & I remembered how impressed I was back in the Fall. I don't know what happened between then and now but I won't be going back. We stopped in just after 5pm, Thursday April 2nd. I saw a few things I was interested in buying for the family, but I had the feeling someone was staring at us. I looked up and saw the younger girl with multi-colored hair glaring at us while the older girl with colored hair was stacking chairs on tables. Google said they closed at 6pm, so I'm assuming she was mad we were interrupting their pre-close. After seeing the flattest "brownies", flatter than a cookie, the soggy zucchini bread with no date on the wrapper, the glare from the young girl behind the register and not one single "Hi" from the 3 employees working, ( the 3rd one was eating a sandwich behind the counter), I decided not to buy a single thing & not to ever come back. My friend bought 4 items & the glaring girl only spoke when she said the total, not even a "Would you like a bag?", "Thank You", "Enjoy your bread" or "Have a good night." Too bad. My friend & I were looking forward to having a coffee & snack & catching up after work.
