I called on a Monday afternoon for requested Wednesday service on my 16 year old top loading washing machine. Chris was prompt, loved my silly dog (who kept trying to "help" him work.) and had my issue diagnosed in an impressive 30 seconds (and fixed and put back together within 1/2 hour). I spoke with Donna on the phone and Chris was the technician that came out the next day to fix our dryer. I had a screaming toddler, a giant dog, and I'm 5 months pregnant. Chris handled the chaos with ease and I can't tell you how much I appreciate his assistance and ability to not judge me for the screaming toddler and dog that desperately wanted to help him repair the dryer. My 16-year-old refrigerator was having temperature control issues. Some days everything inside would be warm; other days most food inside the fridge was frozen. I called a few places before deciding on Indy Appliance Repair. They were able to come to my house during evening hours (I get home from work at 6PM) and their service call is only $9.95. Chris showed up early for the appointment, which is rare for a repair company. He was polite and thorough with his explanation of the problem. He was able to get the part I needed and install it very quickly. I was glad to get a repair company out to my house quickly and was relieved I didn't have to buy a whole new refrigerator. Literally two weeks after closing on a condo, I had cooling issues with my refrigerator, and after reading online recommendations to restart and vacuum coils with no luck, I decided to give the manufacturer a call. The only times I was offered was 9-5 with no guarantee of morning versus afternoon-and weekdays only with a $95 consul fee. Not terribly practical for anyone with a job. A friend recommended Indy appliance repair, so I thought I'd give them a shot. I was incredibly impressed with the customer service at Indy Appliance Repair! To start with, scheduling was made so easy-they asked me what time I'm done with work, and worked off my schedule to come in an evening. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the model number for my fridge, so they told me it might be two trips-one to diagnose and one to come back with the correct part for the right model-again they based the times off of my schedule. When Chris came to look at my refrigerator, he explained what was going on in a way that I could understand. He went through my options, and then he even insisted that I think about the repair and call him in the morning. He gave me tips on how to avoid this from happening in the future and general electrical advice for the future. The price and the service are why I give Indy Appliance Repair 5 stars. Sad to say that I was charged $39.95 for a quick 5 min service call here to find out my fridge has a coolant leak, and they only take Cash or Check. Double ouch. I had Indy Appliance come to our house today to look at our Maytag washer. I called them around 9:00 am and was given a time frame of 11:00am to 1:00pm. A technician arrived around 12:30pm. The technician quickly identified the problems with my washer and quoted a price to fix the problems. It turns out that the repairs were going to be more expensive than a new washer. The service call was only $9.95. (This fee is waived if a repair is made.) The technician suggested which models to buy. Indy Appliance didn't get 5 stars because the cost to repair seemed a bit too high. After pricing the items online, I can get all of the items to fix my washer for just over $120. The quoted price for repairs was over $500. Hey, they have to make money right? We will still be calling them for any other appliance repairs that come up. read more

Called and texted 20+ times, finally after several days got a promised day/time, of which no one showed nor ever called back. When my washer wouldn't enter the spin cycle, I did some research and called Indy Appliance Repair. I spoke with Donna. She was about the rudest person I have ever talked to. She quoted me 300-400 to put a new door latch in and 400-500 to put a new control panel in. When I politely asked her how she got to that number since the door latch is only 28.00 for an OEM, she just repeated the prices again and told me I might want to consider getting a new washer. She wouldn't break down the quotes at all. Clearly she didn't care if she earned my business. Had she been polite and quoted me something reasonable, I would have had them replace it. That day I bought the door latch for 28.00 and installed it in less than 5 minutes. Problem solved. I must have caught her on an off day or something but she was rude and short with me, despite me asking basic questions. read more

Now they want an additional $120 for "labor" to repair a $30 part "outside" of the 30-day warranty. This was after two calls to Donna; I agree she is quite rude, and the tech finally called me back. I called Indy Appliance Repair Company yesterday because our year and a half old Amana dryer quit working. We had no signs of trouble until it tripped a breaker and refused to start up again after the breaker was flipped back, it only made a lite Buzz when you pushed start. I told them exactly what happened and was immediately given an over the phone diagnosis That it was the motor and they needed the model # to order my $300.00 part and that labor would come at an additional charge. I explained that this dryer was new, only used in a single family home and there had been no previous issues and I would like a technician/repairman to come and take a look. Donna again said, it's the motor we can order the parts for you. I explained that paying more to fix the dryer than what a new one would cost was not going to happen. She said to make sure I didn't buy another Amana. Extremely poor customer service, did not honor their advertised $9.95 service call and gave me an incorrect and lazy over the phone diagnosis that would have cost me hundreds of dollars for nothing. Today I had Choose Your Time Appliance Repair Inc, out and although the service call was $45.00 an very knowledgeable, honest, and helpful gentleman named Tim came by and found that I actually had a low voltage issue stemming from either my breaker or outlet. I was given a $5.00 discount and only had to pay $40.00 and an offer for him to come back out again If once the electrical issue was solved I still had a problem. We replaced our breaker and now have a great working dryer once again, no thanks to Indy Appliance Repair Company. They get one star because Yelp requires one, only. read more
