We have used Turner Appliance to maintain and repair an old Viking gas range that is probably past its prime, but very expensive to replace. There are very few companies that will service an old range. Steve, the technician, has been very skilled, courteous and knowledgeable. I have only good things to say about Turner technician who serviced my 4.5 year old Electrolux dryer, rather, my complaint is about the OUTRAGEOUS markup on the parts that were installed--about 244% on a heating element and 310% on a heat sensor. (It was about 2.5 weeks before I had a working dryer.) After paying a $95 diagnostic fee and a $120 labor fee, for about 30 minutes of work, this seems like pure greed to me. Next time, I will be looking for a smaller repair company with presumably less greed and lower overhead. read more

I scheduled a diagnostic appointment with Turner Appliance for a dryer and refrigerator issue. The technician arrived last Thursday about 30 minutes past the scheduled window, which disrupted a business call with my manager. I had already purchased replacement parts for the dryer (a heating element and thermal fuse), but the technician's diagnostic process was minimal. He turned the dryer on and off and opened and closed the door. He concluded the blower and heating element were the issue, but did not fix the heating element while he was there. He then spent approximately 20 minutes on a phone call in my basement. The refrigerator diagnosis was similarly brief, consisting only of opening and closing the door. I was charged a $95 diagnostic fee, and the written summary was difficult to read. I paid by check and was told I'd receive a quote the following day (Friday), but didn't hear back until Tuesday. After consulting with a contractor friend, I was advised that the diagnostic process sounded insufficient, and they questioned why the technician didn't install the part I had already purchased. I sent a letter of concern to the owner/manager and received a call back from Rick. Unfortunately, the conversation was not constructive. Rick was defensive, emphasized the technician's years of experience, and dismissed my concerns without allowing much dialogue. His tone was assertive in a way that felt uncomfortable, and he declined to refund the diagnostic fee, instead citing the company's history of positive reviews. While I respect experience and understand that diagnostics can vary, I did not feel that the service I received was thorough or customer focused. I regularly write positive reviews when service is excellent, but in this case, I cannot recommend Turner Appliance based on both the technician's minimal approach and the follow-up interaction with management. If your appliance is more than halfway through its expected lifespan, it may be more cost-effective to replace it rather than hire a repair service. With diagnostic fees like $95 and additional charges for parts and labor, the total cost of repair can quickly exceed the value of the appliance. read more

Very happy with Turner Appliance service call today. We have a history with Turner Appliances, because the company's technicians were among those who helped us through JL Fox Contractors following a devasting house flood. We were able to get an appointment within a couple of days of reporting a problem with our freezer in our basement. Brent was fast, efficient, and diagnosed the problem. He didn't try to upsell me on any unneeded service. He was in and out of the bottom of the freezer within minutes. A mix-up with a "late" notice about their military discount was resolved with a call to the main number. Overall, we were greatly satisfied and deeply appreciative of the service call. read more

Continues to disappoint. Years ago I had TA attempt to replace broken water lines affixed to the back of my GE fridge. Each time the hose installed itself broke after the TA limited warranty expired. Finally, we gave up on repairs and shut off water to the fridge. Fast forward several years to May, 2023. Samsung washer will not drain. Decided to give TA another chance as they at least would schedule a repairman to visit for $85. Nate listened to the washer and diagnosed a faulty drain pump. Pump ordered, delivered and installation appointment scheduled. First attempt to wash resulted in same error message as before, no drainage. New appointment with another tech. New diagnosis. Now problem is control panel and stabilizers. I am promised a proposal to install new control panel and stabilizers the following day. We decided to cut short the bleeding and take advantage of the seasonal sales on washers. TA never provided its proposal before or after I advised them that we had chosen to replace the washer. First , I will say don't buy LG appliances! I have had so many issues, the warranty company decided to no longer cover my less than five year old appliances.However, if you have made this egregious error, please use Turner appliances to fix your POS LG oven! I needed someone to swap out a part on my LG oven that was too complex to handle myself. After some research, I decided to go with Turner Appliance. Jeff was the technician they sent out to me earlier today, and he not only got the job done right, but he was efficient, professional, and polite. Based on our conversation, he seemed extremely knowledgeable about assembly/disassembly of appliances. After reading horrifying reviews, we decided to record our encounter with your business on July 14. In this recording you can hear one of your employees Charles, the only guy that seemed to care, looking at the picture we took of the unrepaired part, saying "this does not look new." I'm not sure why it was never replaced. In the recording you can also hear my talking politely never intimidating. He never once brought up fire codes or violations. Hid coworker did. My husband actually recused himself from inspecting their business because of conflict of interest. The entire email Connie (from Turner appliance) sent my husband is a farce and to shift the blame and we have recorded proof of that. No one ever sent a technician out to verify that the part was never replaced which should easily be done through serial numbers. no one other than Charles ever cared to take a look at our evidence about the part never being replaced. There was no intimidation. Just very unsatisfied customers. Your technician, Nate, never condemned anything. On his very first visit out, he couldn't get a good look underneath the stove. He didn't bother to unmount it from the floor. He got down and tried to look underneath with his camera phone and told us that the entire bottom of the stove was melted underneath. A few days later my husband decided to take his time and unmount the stove from the floor. He was able to get a better look and determine that nothing was melted. The venting hose was simply torn. Upon discovering this, we called Turner appliance back. That's when Nate came out the second time. Since we got it unmounted , he verbally said to me, "good now I can get a better look at this thing." He confirmed that we needed a ventilation kit. He called the office to order the parts. He said the only part that was not in stock was the ventilation kit and since we can't just buy just the hose, we have to buy the whole kit. At that point he wrote us up an invoice for $620.47. When he came back out on the actual repair inspection, I asked him if that vent Hose was replaced and he said yes. If it wasn't, why would he even charge us the full amount. Ultimately, they wrote us back a rude email saying they don't need customers like us and refunded us our full amount. Seems like they just didn't want to admit, fault and fix the problem. read more

Would not recommend. Showed up for an $85 Service Fee and diagnosed the broken dishwasher based on the error codes I provided the technician. He didn't even take the diswasher out from under the countertop for inspection. Encouraged me to get a new dishwasher - even conveniently recommended a friend who sells dishwashers. When attempting to get reimbursed by my insurance and they were asking for additional information regarding the reason behind the diagnosis - Turner could not provide any additional information because they didn't even complete the inspection. So, I'm out the cost of a new dishwasher without any insurance reimbursement and Turner got their $85 Service Fee for less than 10 minutes of work. read more

UPDATE (8/15/20): I noticed water running down the wall of the floor below the washer. The hoses were not installed correctly and they have been leaking. Now I have drywall damage because these idiots cannot screw on a hose correctly. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Beware and watch them carefully. I hired them to install my washer and dryer after moving. I needed a stacking kit that wasn't easily available. It didn't come in so they tried to find an alternative that didn't work. All understandable. Here's where it became a problem. The installer said he would make a temporary bracket. I call after to confirm because (1) the unit seemed to be moving and (2) condensation was appearing on the wall. The installer (Wes?) confirmed. I had to use another company to fix the heating element when Turner was booked up for a week. When the other company pulled out the dryer to fix it there was no temporary bracket (not even one that fell off) and the installer didn't clamp the dryer vent on so it immediately fell off causing the heating element to shut off. I called to complain and was told the owner would return my call. They didn't. No surprise. They are liars and incompetent. If you hire them make sure you watch them the whole time. read more

The cherry on top of this terrible experience was being verbally assaulted over the phone by Rick, the owner of this company. Being blamed for his miscommunication with his technician and his lack of understanding of the situation was very unprofessional. When I told him so, he told me I was being ridiculous and that my request for more info on the invoice (which was the original reason for the call) was out of line. I want so badly to support a small, local business and buy used vs. new, but Turner Appliance makes it very hard to do so. I purchased this washer used from them. It worked fine for 7 months until we had an issue. I called Turner to work on it since they sold it to us originally. Throughout the whole process, we had to call to receive any information about the status. There were changes in scope, timing, cost - all which we only found out because we called. The washer was supposed to be fixed in one week; it took three. The project was estimated without taking the washer apart and we weren't updated when they had the washer apart in the shop and there were additional issues discovered. We weren't updated when the cost of the project increased above the estimated cost. I called to push for the washer to be delivered since we were so far past the time they promised and they said they would do the best they could. Later that day, the washer and technician showed up on my doorstep without any heads up and I had to leave a work meeting to accommodate. The technical work could be fine (we will see) but the whole experience was muddied by the terrible customer service. Do not work with this company. Go buy a new product; you'll save yourself a headache and probably end up spending the same amount or less. read more

Horrible customer service from Rick the manager!!! We had a dryer that was running but not blowing hot air. Turner (sent a trainee alone; only been on the job since February) replaced the broken heating and within 2 days the dryer completely went out. Turner sent the trainee out again alone and he could not determine why but assumed it was an electrical unit. At this point we requested to speak with the manager, Rick. We feel that while the trainee was replacing the heating coil something else was damaged. Rick was very rude, disrespectful, and very arrogant. I am so dissapointed with this company. We hired them because our dryer was making a loud squeaking noise but was drying just fine. They came out and fixed the noise but it no longer heated. It took another week to get that problem fixed even though it was not what they came out for which led me to believe they broke it. My dryer was less than 5 years old. Now less than two months later it isn't heating again! I called today and they can't get anyone out until next Thursday. They refuse to let you speak to a manager and their service is terrible. Lauren in the office is extremely rude to deal with. Simply bad customer service. I wish I had hired someone else but the part they broke and replaced is under warranty so I am stuck unless I want to pay twice. read more

My recommendation would be to use someone else. I asked them give an estimate on a fridge for a rental unit. Multiple examples, but general overview is lack of follow-up and communication even when being very specific with what I needed. Unless you have a lot of time to follow up and stay on top of them I would keep looking. 1. Four hours early of original appointment time and called me instead of my tenant which I specifically asked them not to 2. Provided the invoice to my tenant instead of me which I then had to ask for on three separate occasions 3. Technician said he would send me info/pictures of refurbished refrigerators the next business day, never heard from him and was rude when I followed back up with him 4. Needed a fridge delivered ASAP and despite offering to pay more there was nothing they could do to help for almost a week. Reasonable, but after everything else icing on the cake. I always called Turner Appliance for everything but I won't now!!!!!!! Jeff was horrible trying to fix my washer!!!!!!!! First time said it was fixed, I just need to flip the breaker every time I wash something!!!!!!! Issue wasn't fixed so he got sent back out!!!!!! Then he says it could be 2 didn't things either the pump or the board!!!!!!! So orders both parts and says he installed them and still having issues!!!!!!!! All after 2 weeks!!!!!!! So call GE out to fix and they tell me it's the pump!!!!!!! Looking into it they said he never touch the pump at all!!!!!!! So it could have been fixed that day if he would have done his job!!!!!!! I took a brand new dryer to these people trying to sell it. It flew out of a truck at 55 MPH going down the road after being bought NEW from Home Depot. The dryer control panel fell of as well as bending the lid on top. Has NEVER had electricity to it. When i get there the owner: 1) Tore up the box. 2) looked at the control panel and saw DUST from a DIRT road it had traveled on a few days pryer. 3) said just from the dust on the inside of the panel that it had been hooked up. This owner needs to learn how to look at the appliances to know that they really haven't been hooked up to anything! You look on the inside of the dryer where the drum is and is is nice and clean! Two great experiences with this company, a year apart for different appliances. Honest, polite, and didn't try to sell me more than I needed. On this latest visit, Jeff the technician could have easily just replaced our dryer controller board for a few hundred bucks and went along his way ... but instead, he tried a few other things first to make sure I really needed to spend that money. As it turned out, it was just a loose connection and I only had to pay the service call fee! I feel like many appliance repair companies wouldn't be that honest, kudos to Jeff and Turner Appliance. I recommend using a more professional company. I used Turner appliance to repair my dryer. The day after the repair the dryer began knock. The repair was not done correctly and the bottom of the dryer was not connected. The door was hanging off the hinges! I called to request a repair and the lady Peggy who answered the phone was very rude and even hung up on me because I objected to was wait 2 weeks to have my repair fixed! Let me start by saying Josh that works at Turner appliance is great. I did not like the lady on the phone she was a complete smart ass. If you don't like your job find you a new one. They switched us people coming out so the new guy didn't even look at our fridge like he said he did he said he brought the wrong part. He stayed maybe 10 minutes and said we would need another service call witch takes 2-3 weeks to get. So I would have to be with 3 kids and no fridge. So we was like ok. The next day my husband said he was trying to get a appointment the lady who answered the phone was rude they exchanged words because he did not like her tone or additude with him. The supervisor was supposed to call back, did not call back as we were told so I took it apon myself to call and the rude lady said they no longer have parts for our fridge we need to use another company. Absolutely excellent service! We bought a 'newer' w/d set on Craigslist (yes, I know 'never do that.') because our set was acting up. The CL set didn't work (go figure). Called Turner who put me in touch with a tech on the phone. He gave some recommendations that I tried (he was spot on). But it was a part issue. I called back and they scheduled a service tech to come out the next day. Chris L. came out and diagnosed the problem with my 'new' machine, made solid recommendations for my old washer and had it up and running in no time - instead of trying to go for a much more expensive fix on my CL treasure. Chris L. new exactly where to look, what to look for, and how to test the machine. His level of expertise, professionalism, and customer service were top notch. I hired them based On good reviews on yelp. I'm disappointed. First off when they said my Samsung dishwasher needed a new part but their parts person said it wasn't available because Samsung didn't make it anymore, that was upsetting. I then called Samsung and a certified tech came out. I'm glad I did because my original guy said to just replace it. The filter in the bottom was completely clogged with debris and hard water scale.... which should've been the first thing my repair person checked. It's fixed now, drains, and finishes the cycle... but I'm no expert so I feel like someone didn't do their job and it's hard to say who. My friends all said Samsung dishwashers are crap. The repair person also adjusted the balance and leveling of our washer and said if this doesn't work call us and there's a part that might need to be ordered. Leveling it didn't help and when he came back out the second time I thought he would have the part with him, he didn't. He said he had to run diagnostics again. Now it's the third visit and he just showed up at my door at 8:30 am on a Monday... and I have a newborn who barely slept the night before. They kept calling my husband when he told them three times already to call me. They never changed the phone number on our account. I'm glad I was home or they would've charged me a cancellation fee even though they never called to get me on the schedule. At the end of the day their multiple trips plus the Samsung guy coming out cost me about $300. I'm just disappointed because I feel like everyone else got better service than me. Normally my dad will fix these things but he's almost 70 and lives three hours away. I guess I'll continue my search for a good repair place that I can actually trust. I'm glad it's all fixed now but this took way too long and was a frustrating process. I would recommend looking elsewhere for appliance repair. Besides being flaky, their customer service is HORRIBLE! Had 3 appointments to get a washer fixed. They were a no-show no-call on one of the appointments. Second one, the technician told me he could ONLY install the part that was needed if I went downtown to get it myself since he was booked for the rest of the day. Third and final appointment, the installer was late and told me that the owner of the company was going to "take care" of the rest of the amount left on my bill. I had given him my credit card number previously 2 weeks later, my card was charged for the rest of the balance that was SUPPOSED to be taken care of by the owner. I call almost every day asking to speak to a manager or the owner and I keep getting the run-around. The girl that always answers the phone is rude, and she keeps telling me that someone will call me back. NO ONE has called me back, and this has been going on for over 2 months! I am filing this complaint against Turner appliance for the following reasons: 1. Poor customer Service 2. Mis-diagnosis of a problem 3. Not standing behind work as advertised 4. Damaging our floors 5. Rude and condescending response from the owner There is not enough room to write everything that happened with this service call, however, suffice it to say that we would never use them again and want to warn people about using this company. Not only did they mis-diagnose the problem originally, they were often late with no apology, and when they damaged our floors, the owner said the refrigerator was installed incorrectly( it had been working for 20 years) Our freezer stopped working on our sub zero refrigerator and they originally diagnosed a compressor failure. When another tech came back to install it a few days later, he found that it wasn't the compressor but a bad evaporator coil. The part took a few days to get in and when they came back to install it, they realized that they would have to pull the refrigerator (built-in) So they had to come back the next day, and when they pulled the refrigerator they broke the water line to the ice maker which poured over our wood floors. They attempted to shut the valve to the water line, but it broke, so they had to shut off water to the house. The technician acknowledged the damage and said they would take care of it. Unfortunately, this never happened as the owner called my wife and was condescending and rude and told her it was our fault. I called him and he even refused to come out and look at the problem. The technicians we dealt with were extremely nice and professional, and we understand that mistakes happen,however their unwillingness to fix a problem they caused is reason enough for people not to use them, and the condescending attitude of the owner toward my wife wants me to warn people about this company read more
