Hiccups for these type of places like Genesis include issues like staff/patient ratios, newer or less experienced support staff, high Medicaid usage and all the ramifications of dealing with the range of middle to very low income working class people. With that said, I have found the staff to be pleasant and they're have been effective with follow up calls when needed. Go early and hope to be seen within the hour of your appointment. They typically return the energy you give them, including silence. The guy who does triage and community out reach is great in that he is efficient and relatable. Their telehealth platform sucks. I cld wrk remotely all day but as soon as I try to connect with their system it's intermittently glitchy. I have seen 2 different doctors there (my 1st choice was not available my first time going). Dr Sonia Cuellar is the best, very professional, is knowledgeable without being condescending. She is optimistic in the ways she gives info, feedback, and follow up. Dr. Ducille is polite but less engaging, she's not a hello in passing in the hallway type. He "knows his stuff"!! He has a great attitude and an easy manner. Not stuffy in any way, answers all questions and is exceedingly thorough in his physical examinations history taking and assessments. AHF has a portal which allows all patients to login and see blood work relate and notes of their visit. It is easy to access and Rabinovitz always inputs his notes within an hour after the appointment. The system also allows you to message any of the caregivers and other staff and Rabinovitz answers his incoming messages promptly. All the time. I cannot overstate how much I admire and respect this doctor and her staff. My situation is such that I need to see numerous specialist throughout the year. Each of those appointments involve a lengthy sit in a waiting area before being ushered into an examination for a brief meeting with the doctor. With the exception of a few sentences containing medical information about my condition, our conversation is no more remarkable than what might be heard between strangers at a bus stop. The Dr Massar experience could not be more different. First there is no more waiting but there is so much more of everything else. Each year before the blood work review and physical exam, Dr Massar engages me in a conversation about everything form aches and pains to bodily functions. Nothing is off the table. I have divulged a humiliating amount of personal information to her. I am sure she has wanted to bust a gut but she always maintains an incredible poker face. Makes me laugh to think about. She has improved the quality of my life and my overall health through education and suggestion not drugs. Each year she recommends books for me to read about diet and cognitive health. I look forward to this years reading selections. Occasionally I worry that Dr Massar will move on or retire. I know my wife and daughter, also her patients, would be very sad, but I would be wrecked, for fear my quality of life improvements would begin to wane and my resolve to push back against my many maladies would weaken. They have a lab on site so my blood work was done there versus having to wait 7 hours at a LabCorp (which if anyone reads this- you know EXACTLY what i'm talking about) Besides the friendly faces throughout my whole visit, the doctor was extremely attentive even though it was my first time! Usually when I go to a healthcare professional for the first time they basically cross off a check list and leave. After a 30 minute wait outside and another 30 minute wait in the examination room LOL. Which leads me into another highlight- the service was quick and efficient. LOVED THAT. All in all, this office treated me like I am a regular of theirs for years and gave me pretty spectacular service. Going to a clinic for your health care needs is extremely personal and you have to find a place that fits your needs. If you're looking for a place you can count on, feel comfortable and receive white glove service, I'd definitely check Glades Medical out.
