They typically return the energy you give them, including silence. The guy who does triage and community out reach is great in that he is efficient and relatable. Their telehealth platform sucks. I cld wrk remotely all day but as soon as I try to connect with their system it's intermittently glitchy. I have seen 2 different doctors there (my 1st choice was not available my first time going). Dr Sonia Cuellar is the best, very professional, is knowledgeable without being condescending. She is optimistic in the ways she gives info, feedback, and follow up. Dr. Ducille is polite but less engaging, she's not a hello in passing in the hallway type. I know the scan came back because the tech said he would have it by Monday. He did not call me so I drove to the office and he implied that I had throat cancer. I asked him to give something for my throat and he told me that anything he did would just be a "band aide" and he told me to see another doctor in Palm because so they could do a biopsy. I went to the other doctor and much the same with him so I set up an appt. I started getting very frightened because these were doctors I did not know and any resource I called did not have any rating on either of them. My mother had cancer for 10 years and finally gave up on her own so I called her Oncologist in Los Angeles. Having known that doctor for years, I hoped to depend on him for treatment so I left for Los Angeles and the Angeles Clinic. First I stopped to have a complete evaluation with an ENT specialist who checked my throat up and down and what I had was a very bad Candida infection which has much info from the CDC on Candida infection running rampant all over the world and is resistant to most fungal treatments. Now I am in treatment with an Infectious Disease doctor and she has done many tests on me and I have not gotten the results yet but now my husband has the same symptoms I do, so we're both being treated and should have the results tomorrow. Nothing I can do about Dr. Schrager because we're all entitled to a second opinion but I would almost call that Malpractice. It sure scared the hell out of me and there was no radiology reading on the results of my Cat Scan. I find that FL has the worst healthcare yet and it's getting worse. I gave paperwork for leave to be approved to secure my job, he told me it'll take a couple of days but here it is, over a week later and I still haven't been able to get those papers signed. I was told that he took them home but still didn't care to fill them out. I'm grieving the loss of my sister and my grandmother, leave is for me to grieve properly and get the help I need for my physical health but I guess that's not important to him.

Not only did this doctor shout at the charge nurse with an Asian name at Northwest Medical hospital. By the way, he did this with us standing next to her and at the nurse's station where other healthcare workers, family members were looking on. He remained seated in front of his computer and continued to state that he was too busy at the moment to speak to us or her (the nurse). She persisted a little and said that we only had a few questions about the patient's fever, blood culture and plan of care. He then noted, quite reluctantly, that he was the infectious disease doctor and was not the attending. Clearly he did not want to be interrupted when he took the time to tell us that much. We (the family) then asked why his services were needed and that's when he said they found a bacteria in her blood and he gave the patient antibiotics; then he walked back to his seat. Standing there in total shock and disbelief, we (the family) made sure he understood that his behavior was unacceptable. We have no idea what abnormalities were found in the blood work, possible sources for the bacteria or why our family member was still experiencing a fever. It was/is heartbreaking, especially when a family is going through a vulnerable situation with an aging member of the family fighting for life, but this type of behavior was just the worse. Whether or not this physician, and I am being generous by not calling him something worse, was having a good day or not... Feeling marginalized and disempowered after leaving the hospital today, I was equally surprised to see that this was his philosophy on a public website: Dr. Villalba's Care Philosophy We practice with compassion and professionalism. We take care of patients who have HIV, Hepatitis, Lyme Disease, acute and chronic infections and travel medicine. Overall, more needs to be done and communication and bedside manners are two fundamental services that are deathly lacking in this hospital overall and in this doctor. I cannot overstate how much I admire and respect this doctor and her staff. My situation is such that I need to see numerous specialist throughout the year. Each of those appointments involve a lengthy sit in a waiting area before being ushered into an examination for a brief meeting with the doctor. With the exception of a few sentences containing medical information about my condition, our conversation is no more remarkable than what might be heard between strangers at a bus stop. The Dr Massar experience could not be more different. First there is no more waiting but there is so much more of everything else. Each year before the blood work review and physical exam, Dr Massar engages me in a conversation about everything form aches and pains to bodily functions. Nothing is off the table. I have divulged a humiliating amount of personal information to her. I am sure she has wanted to bust a gut but she always maintains an incredible poker face. Makes me laugh to think about. She has improved the quality of my life and my overall health through education and suggestion not drugs. Each year she recommends books for me to read about diet and cognitive health. I look forward to this years reading selections. Occasionally I worry that Dr Massar will move on or retire. I know my wife and daughter, also her patients, would be very sad, but I would be wrecked, for fear my quality of life improvements would begin to wane and my resolve to push back against my many maladies would weaken.
