I was skeptic at first since the facade of the building was a bit dark - not enough lighting outfront and in the lobby. Other than that the place is clean, and quiet. Front Desk Security are friendly, and Letty was great and an absolute rock star - she was vey nice and polite, always with a smile. She went above and beyond to - So sweet showing us around with all the amenities. She made us feel welcome, answer all our questions and then some! I lived here from August 1st, 2021to July 31st, 2022. I cannot stress enough how horrible the conditions were at the fault of a poor and unqualified management team. To start, the apartment was not cleaned for my roommates and I before moving in; there were brown stains/spills on the mattresses, in the fridge, and in several kitchen cabinets. There was also black mildew in the bathroom shower, along with many other unhygienic issues that made it clear that a cleaning clew had not visited the apartment. Of the four of us living there, three (including me) were new tenants, our fourth roommate had been living there for two years in bedroom 'A2'. For some odd reason, management thought she had moved out during 2020, and leased her bedroom to someone else from May 2022 to July 2022. None of us were aware of this until the new girl all but showed up at our door, forcing us to scramble to make space for her. Additionally, the 'security' staff is extremely rude and unwelcoming. I had friends over and gave them my keys so that they could go buy something from the 7/11 next door. The 'security' guard took the keys from their hand and would not allow them re-entry to the building. When I went to the lobby to clear up the situation, she refused to give me MY KEYS back until my friend bought her black and mild cigars, trying to blackmail us by saying she would report us to management (I should be allowed to do what I want with my own keys, mind you, I was paying rent to live there). On one occasion, a 'security' guard went as far as to curse at my father because he asked to be exempt from the 3 person guest policy and allowed entry, considering one of the guests was my SEVEN year old brother. Another one of my friends was forced to wait outside in the middle of winter until I came down to sign her in. Given the weather conditions, she should have been allowed to wait in the lobby. I would also often come off the elevator to hear two of the 'security' guards loudly talking bad about me, but I never reported them for their extremely hostile behavior because I was afraid they might retaliate and become physically aggressive (there were times I honestly believed they would put their hands on me). I thought maybe they just disliked me, but after reading these reviews, it's clear others have received the same treatment as well. Despite the borderline tyrannical guest policy in place, someone managed to break into a resident's apartment my first month living there, constituting a police intervention. In addition, the management team never once replied to my emails during the entire year I lived there. At one point, I was going to be out of town for a week, so I personally asked the staff to not unlock my bedroom door for my roommates. I was assured that a photo ID was needed to unlock any doors for identity confirmation. Less than 3 hours after I left, a staff member unlocked my bedroom door at my roommates request. I never received a response to my email questioning why that was done. Going back to the disgusting state the apartment was given to us in, while moving out (yes, my 4 roommates and I all moved out at the same time because this place was so awful) we spent the entire weekend trying to make the apartment presentable, and we did reasonably accomplish that. Yet, two months after moving out, we received an email saying that we owe $150/each for the condition we left the apartment in, after already being sent a final bill one month after we moved out! These people are nothing more than scam artists and leaches, presenting under the false pretense of a high end, student friendly apartment company. Unless there have been drastic changes within management -- DO NOT live here. read more

4 college students found to be misled at the cost per person for a shared apartment which was discovered AFTER they each paid a $300 application fee. They agreed in writing to return $250 of that when we discovered the confusion and that it was not affordable. It's been a run around and excuse after excuse for nearly 5 months! It takes 60 days to process, the 99 days, oh we sent to wrong address, resent snd still didn't come in mail, a month later we sent a check out let us check, ok we sent another check that was at the beginning of July! Its been a month and 2 weeks since I've emailed and no reply!!! Based on the other reviews I'm now not surprised! I want my money back now the same way I sent it! read more

Felt obligated to write a review for this place after having lived here for ~10 weeks over the summer. Overall, the lease was decently priced and my roommate and I fortunately got our preference of living on one of the highest floors. When we arrived, the staff warmly greeted us and gave us the keys - the place was beautifully furnished, modern, and very tidy. Everything felt pretty new and felt like home. The main complaint I would have is that my room was very dim. Light didn't shine through the windows, but instead the windows seemed to act more as a blocking barrier for any potential sunlight. On top of that, the actual lights in our room were faint, so my room was pretty much always dark. This quickly became problematic for two reasons: 1) it was difficult to do work at home and I usually found myself moving to the couch to do work instead 2) honestly felt like my body was always producing melatonin anytime I tried to be productive in the room. I will say I did sleep really well though at least, and also really loved that the rooms had full-sized beds. The place also has amenities on the second floor which include a study room and gym. The study room, unlike my atrociously dark room, was brightly lit BUT had the loudest AC vents ever. Same with my roommate's room - the vents were insanely loud and bothersome. Not sure what is up with this, but it became a struggle since turning down the temperature would create more noise and this was a pretty big issue. Also speaking of noise, one morning at 8am I was woken up to the sound of a blazing fire alarm that completely startled me. I remember going down to the lobby and asking what was going on. The front-desk woman gave me a condescending look and told me to go wait in the study room until the alarm stopped. I was still in my pajamas and was just honestly taken aback by her rudeness. This was a pretty negative experience and staff can be unpredictable. However, I still think that the interior is pretty nice and it's located in a great spot, so I think 4 stars is justified. read more

Good place to live for students. I lived there this summer and it was nice to be in the heart of the city in a somewhat reasonably priced apartment (compared to surrounding apartments). There is a gym which is nice as well as a good coworking area. Apartment is spacious but not the cleanest upon moving in-- decent. Rooms small but manageable for a short term lease. You feel very safe in the building as there is strong (but not always nice) security and pretty much everyone there is a student. I wish the lease terms were more flexible. read more

Infinite Chicago is the worst place I have ever lived: 1. The biggest issue is the temperature. In the summer, my roommate and I had tot turn the thermostat down to 60 DEGREES for it to be comfort temperature in our apartment. In the winter, the building refuses to turn on the AC between October-June, so the apartment turns into a literal inferno. In December and January, when it was even down to 10 degrees Fahrenheit outside, our apartment stayed in the range of 73-80 degrees. This was even while we kept the windows open 24/7, the heat turned off, and the blinds pulled down.We brought this to the attention of Infinite, who at first told us to call maintenance. We called maintenance, who told us that "there's not a whole lot we can do, it's not that uncommon for this side of the building to be very hot". When we told management about this, they were very dismissive and did not even offer an apology. They gave us two obviously used, cheap, loud fans that simply recycle air and don't actually cool it down. After MONTHS of being ignored by them and countless emails and phone calls, we called them again and they responded that they bought us AC units but "weren't sure we still wanted them". They came to set up the units, but the panel where the hot air was supposed to expel didn't cover the entire width of the window. We called maintenance three times for this, and our requests were simply ignored. The third time, maintenance came and put a literal piece of cardboard in the gap.Because of how hot and dry it was in our apartment (and the fact that we needed to keep the windows open despite pollution and noise), I formed a skin rash for most of the winter and could hardly breathe through my nose at night. My roommate got a respiratory infection and needed to take antibiotics, and her doctor said the living conditions very likely contributed to this. 2. Another nerve-racking issue is that all but one of the people at the front desk are actively rude and unfriendly. These are the people you have to talk to when you want to pick up your packages or when you want to bring a guest (you have to sign in every single guest, even your parents). They are consistently rude to both the people living there and our guests, from frowning to making snarky comments to flat-out ignoring us when we say hello. If someone opens the door for you, they will yell at you to show them your card even if they recognize your face, because they want to make sure that they can charge you if you don't have your key on you. I have seen the people at the front desk yell at guests for holding the elevator door open for others. They have also turned away packages - they turned away my roommate's groceries worth over $70, and refused to reimburse her or explain why. 3) Yet another problem is that, because of Infinite's location and absolutely despicable infrastructure, you can hear EVERYTHING going on outside. The building is right at the corner where the train passes, so you will hear the train all night long. My roommate and I lived on one of the top floors, and we were still woken by the train every night. I can only imagine what it must sound like one of the lower floors. When we were forced to keep the windows open to keep our apartment from rising above 80 degrees in the winter, the sound was exactly the same as if the windows were closed. 4) They lie about the price. You could be agreeing to pay $1,719 for 12 months, when in fact the lease is only for 11 months and 1 week. When you confront employees about the discrepancy, they play dumb. Additionally, they lied to my roommate and promised her a much lower price by hundreds of dollars than what we actually ended up paying. 5) There are only 2 elevators for 20 floors. The elevators themselves are very old and slow, so I have waited up to 3 minutes for an elevator to arrive. 6) The "gym" is tiny and has a very small variety of equipment. It is almost always 74 degrees in there (which you can actually see on the thermostat). 7) For some reason, they promise a furnished apartment but provide no dining table. My roommate and I eat our meals either in bed or on the floor. 8) They will harass you to renew your lease just a few months in. 9.) There were a few random power outages for seemingly no reason, which took them ~3 hours to fix. There was also a WiFi outage that took an entire day for them to fix. 10.) There are random small issues with the apartment that maintenance has no idea how to fix: our laundry unit was producing a white powder that maintenance tried three times to fix and couldn't figure out, our dishwasher was leaking, my window was jammed and even maintenance could barely open it, and the shower wouldn't get hot for a couple of days during the winter (and never gets as hot as I would like it year-round). 11.) Before moving out, we were notified that we need to pay for a PROFESSIONAL STEAM-CLEAN of the carpet or that they would automatically charge us after we leave. read more

The office at Infinite is the most disorganized, unprofessional group I've ever had to deal with. They asked me and three other people during FINALS WEEK that we had to move to another apartment TODAY. Absolutely no notice and gave no reason. Again, this was during finals week. It was such a mess. Also, workers will walk into the apartment at random intervals at all hours of the day with no notice, which I'm pretty sure is illegal. So if you like for a fully grown man to walk into your bathroom when you're showering then by all means, live here. I can't explain enough how disorganized they are to the point of it being unsafe to live there. When I moved out, I turned in my keys, signed everything, etc and I got emails asking for rent because they thought I still lived there... It's truly incredible how terrible this place this. I've always lived with wonderful landlords and stayed with great companies but this is the worst experience I've ever had with any company ever (not just housing, literally with anything). Moved in and the sink was leaking, smelled like smoke, and there were someone dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Def never inspected. Other problems we had within only 2 MONTHS: - oven broke and caught on fire - fridge broke had to be replaced, was replaced by leaky fridge - shower head fell off on roommates head and left giant welt/bruise - towel bar broke three times - literally so many more its stupid staff would never answer or say they would get back to you weeks later. they promised us refunds because they admitted to not inspecting the apartment for safety and terrible conditions. complete joke. still waiting on money 5 months later the only good thing about this apartment is Lucas the doorman and the maintenance worker whose name I forget. hope they give them a raise or something. read more

We have very mixed feelings about the Infinite. The apartments are decent but RARELY clean when you move in. Go in and clean it first before moving your stuff in (truly, it was disgusting). Once in, living there is decent. The apartments are nice, security is good, maintenance is responsive. They don't like packages and are a little whiny about having to retrieve them (depending on who is at the front desk). We had extreme difficulty prior to moving our daughter into her apartment junior year and actually had to contact someone in corporate to get action. They really screwed up the apartment assignment and promised something that they later said didn't exist (4 bedrooms) or that it was already taken ahead of them, but we had the lease that had been signed by them that included the number of bedrooms, etc. Be sure you know your lease! Lived there for junior and senior year (2 bedroom) of college. Once our daughter moved out after graduating, they sent two other charges afterward and claimed we were in collection for a bill that we never got nor were in collection for. It was a water bill that should have been split between roommates, but we paid it. 2 months after moving out we got a $90 cleaning bill and so did the other roommate, who had moved out. The apartment was clean so we asked for documentation but never got it. I wish I'd taken pictures of the apartment because I PERSONALLY helped clean. I know that the apartment was clean. Our mistake. So we paid the $90. Bottom line, it's okay but keep all copies of your lease, take pictures when you move in and when you move out. Their practices seem questionable and the office is NOT responsive once you're not there. read more

Then this is the place for you. The Roommate screening is a scam as I was paired with worst possible roommate despite I requested somebody specifically who was not a night owl, was neat, and didn't smoke. Got the exact opposite. They will tell you to deal with your issues yourselves, and make you pay money to transfer (say your mental health is at risk with your uncooperative roommate) even though you could go to the exact same apartment. Service will take a long time and they consider an email sent two weeks in advance to be good enough for a notice to enter your apartment later. They will also bribe you with 'points' to leave 5-star reviews. I one time emailed them to talk to the head manager about some roommate problems and I didn't get an email as a mere REPLY whether I could or not three weeks later, and then they didn't confirm if I could or not. And no matter how many work orders I requested for them to fix their cockroach problem (and there were a lot on our counters every morning despite our own best efforts to keep the counters clean) that they would not hire professional pest control. And now even with a day late turning in my keys due to being bedridden with COVID, I am now being charged a thousand dollars for the late fee. read more

I am a current resident at Infinite Chicago and I absolutely love it! It is a very fun, safe inclusive, cleanly and ideal place to live in the Loop! I moved here from Los Angeles in August and was unsure of where to live and was also unable to do any in person tours. I was really nervous, but Infinite was able to give me a FaceTime tour and even IMessage'd me for my convivence! Roe, Sydney, Ashely, Lelani and everyone else in the leasing office was and still is amazing! The buildings location really is perfect, I promise you that you will enjoy living here, from the breakfast bar to the monthly and weekly events(free food and goodies) the building puts together, will allow you to find a sense of home if you are coming from far. Their building is very modern and nice, alongside the furniture in the apartments. The amenities in this building are great! Business center, free printing, gym, roof top, BBQ's, cable, all utilities included, FREE breakfast everyday, 24 hour security, 30 seconds to all CTA entrances! I could go on and on! However there is a new Manager who not only violates the City of Chicago Municipal code, but also commits criminal trespass by entering the premises without proper notice. They also engage in in false and misleading advertising by claiming high speed internet access included, which I have not had since day one. The security doorman, the maintenance staff, the building engineer are great, five star. The new GM has to be someone's kid because he or she is not qualified to manage this building. DONT sign a lease here. This is hands down the worst apartment I have ever lived in. It's extremely overpriced and it is falling apart. Before I moved in I booked a flight in advance to come in on move in day and they later said only certain units could move in at certain time slots. I was traveling with an animal so I had no choice but to pay to change my flights when the refused to let move in a few hours earlier. The day I moved in they switched me from my original unit to a different one without telling me until I arrived. I go into my unit and it was NOT CLEAN. There was literally a Juul pod in my sink, swisher wrappers in the couch, broken garbage disposal, broken shower, broken oven fan, and, I kid you not, PUBIC HAIR in my shower, (which I had to scrub out my first night :)). When I told them about this they told me that all apartments are cleaned and mine was clean before I moved in! I continued to have problems with my apartment as the lease went on. The shower door was never fixed so the bathroom always flooded with water. The unit I was in was on the second floor and I never got one full night of sleep the whole time I had to live in this place because the alleyway is full of dumpsters. Literally ALL NIGHT LONG trash trucks bang and throw dumpsters and it is the most obnoxious deafening noise to wake up to in the night. Being on the lower 10 floors and with paper thin walls you can basically hear everything in the alley. And since you get no choice in what unit you are living in, they could put you on the second floor and you will PAY THE SAME PRICE AS THE PEOPLE LIVING ON THE 15 floor. Which is actually ridiculous, pricing should go up if you live on upper more coveted floors. The management harasses you with emails about points and raffles and literally bribes people to write five star reviews. They also non-stop sent me texts about renewing my lease when I told them I didn't want to. The community facilities are ok, the gym could have more weights for what you pay to live there, and paper should be free in the printer. On top of all of this there is also the issue of having guests over. Every single time you have a guest come over they have to manually write down their ID information even if you have the guest come over frequently. They also don't allow you to have a guest stay for more than three nights straight. When I had a family member stay for a weekend they sent me a warning about having guests and threatened to charge me 500$ for having them over. Uhm pretty sure if you are paying to live somewhere you should be able to have people over, especially at the prices you pay here. It is basically like living in a dorm except no affiliation to a school. Clearly, the front doormen hate their job and the management doesn't give a fuck about the doormen. During the pandemic the management just disappeared but the doormen were left to work in unsafe conditions, not given gloves or masks, had to handle all the mail, AND STILL HAD TO TOUCH EVERY VISITOR'S ID. I found this extremely ridiculous. They also come in and inspect your unit as if they are a college dormitory. Honestly, the only people I liked here was the maintenance worker who fixed my garbages disposal and microwave and was extremely nice. Everyone else here either ignores you or harasses you. Also, before I moved in a sent them a document from my doctor that I will be bringing an emotional support animal, and they told me I needed to register my animal on a scam website that costs 60+ dollars to register your animal as an ESA. Every aspect of this apartment is a scam. It has poor infrastructure, bad management, poorly treated doormen, and residents who are treated like freshmen in college who are being infringed of their own freedoms while the pay mega bucks to live in a shit hole that costs the same as some luxury DT apartments. They also make you pay for full months rent of August and May when they don't let you move in until August 15 and move out May 20. Most other places would pro-rate those months and not make you pay in full, but not the infinite. I'm telling you DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DONT SIGN A LEASE HERE. Locked in to a 1 year lease that ends in a month or so. The prices are way too high for what they're offering, you could live in River North with a roommate for the same price as what you're getting here with 3 or 4 roommates. A little south, cheaper and higher value for what you pay for; same with a little further up north. On the lower floors (under 6), the construction/train/garbage trucks are so loud you basically don't ever have perfect sleep (garbage trucks can run any time, even at 3 or 4 in the morning). Management team/staff has also changed multiple times already, everything is still disorganized and messy even after a year in business. Other things to keep in mind: wifi is cut off sometimes, you essentially have to purchase your own router to make things work. This is essentially not your personal apartment, it is a dorm and money-sucker for students who live by here. Management doesn't budge with anything at all, everything is there way, there is no flexibility whatsoever. I've also heard of people negotiating leases to lower prices, and breaking down their leases to a month-by-month basis - terribly disorganized, desperate, and corrupt. Thermostat is messed up and often locked so we can't alter the temperature, non-soundproofed windows, there have been times where heat has not been turned on for the building when it was 57 degrees. Should I keep going? Random room checks, walking in to your apartment without any notification before or after coming in. How on earth are people rating this place with 5 stars? read more

This is a horrible place! The apartments are super tiny! no closets. They have several issues with their online payment which causes rent to almost always be late and they just tack on late fees like it is no big deal. Their previous manager didn't manage the payments correctly and I always have to argue about of rent balance. The wifi is absolute crap, cable is crap, no baths. crappy furniture, drafty, broken elevators, really really bad management! Definitely not worth what ridiculous amount I pay per month! Not luxury, a complete and total pain in the ass. DO NOT LIVE HERE!! Only nice thing about living here is the doormen are really nice. Run for the hills! Save your money and look elsewhere. When my friend signed a lease here and her roommate backed out my friend was stuck with the lease that the apartment would not let her break, usually apartments should have a set amount to break a lease. My daughter had an amazing experience living at Infinite Chicago. The security is great, so I felt more at ease. The staff was very professional yet friendly. My husband and I highly recommend for anyone sending their kids off to college in the big city. The building has everything from granite countertops to stainless steel appliances. I'm gonna put a very honest and detailed review here. So, I moved from my home in Arizona into Infinite at the end of September of 2015. So I've only been here for a little over a month. Anyways, it is quite expensive, everyone I tell who lives somewhere else is always shocked when I tell how much I am paying. I know, I know.. "You're mostly paying for the location". I'm paying $800 a month to share a small room, bathroom, and small closet with 1 girl, plus I have 2 other roommates who are paying more for their private rooms in our apartment. You share one mailbox amongst all your roommates.. which some people may not like because then any one of your roommates can see what mail you are receiving but with packages you have to pick them up in the lobby with your ID. The security people who work the front have been nothing but kind to me, haven't had a problem with them, they're very nice. The elevators are slow, I can't seem to work the WiFi on my laptop, the place seems to be run by college girls, mostly, at least I think so. Management is nice, so far... according to other reviews not so much, but everyone has their opinion. I haven't really even talked to management about anything, so idk about that part. There's also a gym in the building and a room that you can study in and also has computers. There are printers, however if you want to print anything, you have to purchase and bring your own paper, which I don't really like. Also, on the 17th floor there is a rooftop patio which has 2 grills, the view is okay, not the best. I actually haven't had any big problems with the apartment whatsoever... yet. Except for the fact that the our apartment (on the 9th floor) is facing the side of the building and the windows are not soundproof, so we can hear the collection of the big bins of garbage outside VERY LOUDLY at 3oclock in the freaking morning. Anyways, the location is very good. Close to restaurants, the colleges, the "L", the library, stores, etc. The apartment is very diverse in terms of ethnicity, majors, and different colleges. All 3 of my roommates go to different colleges, which I like. The front door of the building can only be opened if you have your key fob or if you're on the guest list, which is a good sense of security. Also, a plus for us college students, there is a coffee shop right below us that I have yet to try. But, I heard it's very good. ALSO, as one of my roommates and I discovered a couple weeks after moving in, the front doors to your apartment does not lock automatically after you leave, it's not like a hotel door. You have to manually lock the door from the outside, the same way you open it, just turn the other way. Anyways, I like living here. It's a place I can call "home" and somewhere I can sleep and eat, that's all that's really needed. read more

The apartments are nice looking but feel cheap. The fuse for my room continues to blow and I have little to nothing plugged in. They don't offer semester leases which is stupid for a student housing complex. If you love on any floor 1-6 (and you don't get a choice) you will wake up every night to a trash truck slamming down dumpsters, and I am not kidding when I say the alley that the dumpsters live has about 40 dumpsters so it lasts about an hour. I really enjoyed my time at Infinite. I felt it was the perfect amount of living space I was looking for and you can't beat the location. The security is great because if you are not a resident you can't get through to the elevators without signing in with an ID with the doormen and listing the person you are staying with. Although this was annoying sometimes when I had guests it made me feel at ease knowing that they aren't letting random people in. The electronic key fobs for locks made me feel much better about security as well. As a student it was exactly what I was looking for. read more

Bloodsuckers that care about nothing but your money. I introduced another person to this place and they agreed on a $500 deduction on my rent. Unexpectedly on my moving out out they denied on that, lied to my face and firmly pressed the $500 discrepancy to be paid until I provided email as proof. read more

This place is a scam. The owners exploit their employees. They leave them exposed in unhealthy work conditions during covid-19... meanwhile, they are no where to be seen. All they did was set up a tiny rope.. no masks or gloves... The security in this building is insanity. Every time you bring a guest they make you check in and show IDs (even if your guest is a regular visitor)... even during coronavirus, they insisted on having this unnecessary contact. If you have a guest overnight, they try to charge you extra. It's basically like having a hall director breathing down your neck. If you want to live in a dorm again, but pay copious amounts of money without any of the fun aspects of a dorm setting, then this is the place for you. You have no freedom here and the space is definitely not infinite. This place is purely over priced. It's just insidious that I pay 2k to look into a dumpster all day. I can't even get an ounce a sleep with the deafening sound of the dumpster truck that comes to my window EVERY single night. The rooms are in terrible condition from day one. They do very VERY LITTLE cleaning between residents. Don't even get me started about the disgusting bathroom and cigarettes I found u set my couch cushions. If you live here, you will only feel an infinite amount of anger toward the management who don't care about you experience at all. read more

Horrible internet. You think you'll have internet in your room? Think again! and they also forbid routers, yet refuse to provide the advertised high speed internet. The staff is lousy and their entire system is disorganized. They refused to give me the room I paid for and was promised because it was occupied. They did this for many other people as well. I had to wait for at least 3 hours before they placed me in some room that was DIRTY. The front desk people are rude. Also, the rule of signing in guests is incredibly annoying and stupid. It's also obnoxious that they ask whether you live here every time you enter the building. The sound proofing is horrid. You can hear everything. The train is very loud even 17 floors up and has kept me up at night. There is an obnoxious band that plays VERY loudly outside the building every day and the Infinite management has yet to do something about it despite several complaints. Overall, this is a horrible place to live. read more

Amazing location, amazing staff and amazing amenities. If you are a student looking for a affordable yet urbane place to live in for the school year, this is the place for you. Before choosing to move here I spent months looking for places and doing the math on how much I would have to pay for transportation if I lived further away from school. Truth of the matter is that the costs were so similar that paying a little bit more to live closer to school turned out to be a convenience well spent. In addition to this I also looked at another student apartment building which was the same cost, but it wasn't updated at all. Everything at Infinite was completely renovated in 2014 so each apartment offers all new appliances, flooring and furniture. 24 hour security and everyone gets to know one another quite quickly. The building has a good sized, brand new gym with all new state of the art equipment. Some of their apartments even face the lake, which makes for beautiful sunrise views in the fall. read more
