Unfortunately this was one of the worst service experiences in my life, which took over two months for a simple part repair to take place in my AC unit. The service from beginning to end was unprofessional, incuding in the manner that he contact person or owner ( Ozley or Ozzie) deals with customers or potential customers is subpar to say the least. The process was extended for over a month from lack of communication, to not submitting claim information and part request to First American Home Warranty. Duct Care informed me they could not find the part, but rather than informing the home warranty so they woudl either replace the whole unit or buy through their purchasing department (who confirmed they could have obtained the part timely), they failed to submit information and wrongfully started a warranty claim with the manufacturer when they were aware the unit was over 10 years old. This impacted the whole process and further delayed things. I kindly asked many times Ozley to please contact First American, (messages and discussions saved), to which they acted busy and told me to look for another contractor. I begged them to please help and contact the home warranty so they could help them find the part, however Duct Care, even when called by the Home Warranty customer service hanged up on them. I had trouble with my furnace not heating my home my warrant company called an hvac company the first time and they could not find the problem and invented a lie about ordering a part. This was going on for over a month. So my warranty company called another company upon my request, Duct Care Services and they came out and it took him all of 10 Minutes or less to find the problem. It was a simple problem that did not need any parts. I would use these people in a heartbeat, very professional and he knew what the problem was immediately. So when you have a HVAC problem call these guys, they are the best!!! read more

The technician came out for all of 3 minutes. He called my husband using a young boy to translate. He told my husband that the issue was the electrical that was wrong with our AC and offered to fix it for $500, stating that it was not covered under our home warranty. When my husband tried to ask questions the man got upset and told my husband to fix it himself if he knew so much. When I contacted the home warranty company, it turns out that the electrical was covered under our home warranty and the technician should not have asked us for any payment. I tried to call the main office and spoke to a woman who was awful, had no customer service skills at all! An electrician came out later to say that the electrical was fine. Giant waste of time, unprofessional, and tried to get over on us to make a quick $500. Would give 0 stars if I could! read more

We just had our heater serviced through this company as a referred vendor by American Home Shield Warranty and i hzve nothing but good to say! I called them up, set an appointment with a very nice lady with great customer service. She was very accomodating fof an ASAP service. Our technician, Carlos came and did his diagnostic and replaced a few parts and booom the heat is back on! 8/23 Duct care services hired through first American home warranty for AC out! First tech came out put in hard start kit and a day later the AC unit started smoking and sparking and burned the whole capacitor area up! Also told me I needed the unit cleaned and would give me better deal if I paid cash. Gave him 140$ cash then unit burned up.. called DVC they were rude and told me whatever when I told her what the tech did caused a fire. They sent another tech out, nice guy but limited English which made it difficult to communicate. He said I need a new condenser and coil. They went in my attic hitting walls with ladder on way up and getting dirty hand prints on the crawl space lid. Now they are telling me I need some modifications which all don't need to be done. Had a second opinion from reputable hvac co. Was told line sets did not need to be replaced just flushed. Line is 7/8 and they are ok with new unit. Horrible service and have yet to get call back after I left message requesting breakdown of costs. read more

They came out via a service call placed through my home warranty company. It was a waste of time. The techs did a poor job repairing one duct (which a later reputable company asked if I repaired myself) and did not assess the overall problems with my ducts (which need to be replaced). They missed ducts they were completely disconnected. There are many excellent duct and HVAC contractors in the area, this company is not one of them. I would not have even bothered leaving a review if their office had not been rude when I called to let them know that their techs missed so many things. read more

I had a claim with American Home Shield and this company was assigned for my home AC unit. DCS was unresponsive and unprofessional from the beginning. They sent an incompetent technician that mis-diagnose my issue. I requested a second opinion from AHS. They sent another guy who said my cost was $3000 more then the first technician. It took over two months to get my repairs scheduled. I declined to do business with Duct Care Services and requested AHS cash me out for my repairs. I would NEVER recommend this company. I am highly disappointed in the lack of professional customer service. I used American Home Shield (I have been paying my premiums for years, very disappointed with them as well). I placed my service request 12/25/2020, I did not get a call back from DCS until mid January 2021. Sam the technician, came to my home to assess the problem with my heating system. He was here for about an hour and told me in a very rude tone what the issue with the heat was. He replaced the thermostat to the upstairs zone, without asking me. He knew that wasn't the problem. Seems like he did it to bill AHS for an unneeded service. He seemed to be in a hurry, he was rude when he explained the problem. He said he was submitting an authorization request to AHS Warranty. I called to follow-up a couple days later, it was 10am and it seemed I woke him. No, professional greeting. He said he submitted all the paperwork to AHS. I called AHS, they had closed my service request as "completed". DCS did not submit any documentation for authorization. Very unethical to lie to a customer. It was a frustrating experience, the issue did not get resolved. AHS, said it wasn't covered and hung up on me. When I called AHS to cancel, they were over apologetic and tried to keep me as a customer. Of course, this review I will address on AHS yelp. We were having problems with our AC and reached out to Duct Care Services for a quote. My fiance was home to meet the technician on Thursday, May 31st, 2018. He gave us a quote that seemed pretty high, and we wanted to review our options. Upon returning home, I noticed that he had removed all the parts in question, as well as the fan cover. It is not an ethical practice for a technician to remove the parts to provide a customer with a quote. Also, removing the items from the unit and the owner's home is not necessary for the technician to complete a repair. The technician could have noted the model make and year, and the serial number of the AC unit to replace the parts. The fact the technician removed the pieces from our property leaves us to believe his motives for removing the compressor, the fan motor, and the cover & screws was to hold them as a form of liability, to ensure that we (the customer) were not able to consult with other businesses for quotes. The technician did not provide us with a written contract, nor did I sign a contractual agreement. We then contacted our home insurance and learned our insurance covers HVAC repairs. However, because your technicians removed the parts from our property, our insurance is unable to offer a quote until those parts are returned to the unit. On June 5th at 11 am, my finance spoke to the technician who removed the pieces, Mario, and requested he returns the pieces to our home. He refused. We then reached out to the company's secretary, Osii 415-335-3597. When I asked Osii for the owner's name and contact information, she refused to provide me with this information to me. She refused to return our property to us, and she has not returned our numerous calls. The fact both Mario and Osii refuse to return our property is beyond concerning, and this leads us to believe Duct Care Service, LLC is trying to take advantage of us. After the initial consultation last Thursday, my family has lived in a house without AC for nearly 5 days, causing unnecessary pain and suffering because we live in a region where temperatures reach above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. A week later, after great persistence from myself and my husband, Duct Care Services returned our parts. To my surprise, they unethically charged my credit card $200 for a repair that never happened. On June 12th, 2018, S A HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING, a HVAC company through my home insurance, came to my home and gave me a second opinion. The S A HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING technicians reported that Duct Care Services unnecessarily and unethically severed the wires connecting the AC's fan to the compressor to simulate a faulty unit and to justify their claim that the compressor and the fan needed to be replaced. S A HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING promptly repaired the AC unit at a charge of $75, which my husband paid through our home insurance. Moral of the story - BEWARE OF THE UNETHICAL PRACTICES OF DUCT CARE SERVICES THAT OF THEIR SISTER OR PARENTS COMPANIES! read more

They referred us to DCS who called us on Sunday to set the appointment. They came on time on Wednesday and were fully prepared to handle our Coronavirus concerns (masks, gloves and protective wear) which was a relief. I bought a Groupon for this business, purchasing $299 worth of services for $99. They also were selling Groupons (same company) for $29, $39, and $49. I bought the most expensive one because it said "up to 8 vents" and included: furnace inspection, duct inspection, attic inspection. I thought that meant that I'd get my 4 vents (two ducts) cleaned and thorough inspections of everything because I was paying for the most services. They came, and told me "up to 8 vents" means ONE vent because they use a magic machine that somehow cleans every duct from one vent. The furnace inspection consisted of the guy standing 4 feet from my furnace and saying "yup, that's old all right." He didn't open it or touch it. They inspected ZERO ducts and also told me "it's pointless to inspect your attic because there's no vents up there". When I pointed out that they had just performed the service they offered for $29, he told me he couldn't help me and I'd have to call the office. I called the office, they claimed they didn't know what I was talking about and they didn't offer $29 Groupons. I emailed them a photo of their Groupons: $29, $39, $49, $99. They didn't return my call or email. I called them again. They said they couldn't help me and I'd have to call Groupon. I contacted Groupon. Groupon tried to tell me they couldn't help me because I'd USED THE GROUPON! But how would I know it was a scam UNTIL I used it?? Then GROUPON refunded my money. This company runs a classic bait and switch operation. I strongly recommend against using them. Oh, their other phone number is 415-513-3591. My furnace went out and another company came out to service it. The other company looked at the furnace and stated the would be back in a couple of days. The next day my contract was assigned to DCS HVAC. When Juan and his team arrived today, they were very professional and explained everything to me thoroughly. Juan did not have the control board needed on hand. Because my heater had been out for close to three weeks, Juan promised me he would be back with the new control board today. True to his word, he came back with the board and now I have heat again. I thank Juan and his team for such great service and going above and beyond to ensure my heater was repaired today.
