Snakes & Lattes is a fun spot in downtown Tempe to grab food, drinks, and hang out with friends…read moreover board games. The space is huge with plenty of tables, booths, and bar seating, plus they have a dog-friendly patio, although it didn't seem to be open during our visit. One thing to note is that ordering is done entirely through QR code, so interaction with staff is pretty minimal. Service was still smooth, but it definitely has more of a self-service feel. Their board game collection is massive and there's a $6 per person fee if you want to play. We ended up skipping the games this time and just came for food and drinks. Food-wise, everything was solid. I had the Spellbinder Hazy IPA along with the patty melt and sweet potato fries (a $3 upcharge). The patty melt was excellent and easily the highlight of my meal. The fries were decent, though I wish they had been a little crispier. My wife had the 12 West Super Beaker Tropical IPA and the carnitas bowl. We also shared the fried pickle chips. Parking can be a bit of a hassle since all the nearby downtown Tempe garages are paid parking, but there are at least several options within walking distance. There's even a small paid lot right behind the restaurant. Overall, a really cool concept with good food, drinks, and an impressive game selection.

Such a great spot for the whole family! I love that you can eat, drink, and play all in one place…read more The decor has such a fun vibe and makes it easy to settle in and stay awhile. We ended up staying for hours trying out so many games, sharing appetizers, and I enjoyed a latte. Definitely one of those places that makes for such a fun and memorable outing. The kids are asking to go back!

You're going to find this an odd review but if you Order on Uber Eats you can order Wings and Fries…read moreand other Wing type stuff. They go by The King of Wings. They have some really big and meaty wings. On the app they have a couple buy one get one free deals. The one I got was 10 bone in wings with fries and a drink for $20. But at BOGO that's 20 wings for $20 bucks. The fries oddly looked good but didn't taste all that great. But dipped in the blue cheese dressing helped. Like I said, the wings were meaty and tasted pretty good. They have several sauces but instead of putting it in a bowl and covering the wings they just kinda pour some sauce over the wings. So you have to work at getting enough sauce on the wings. The one guy working that night was doing a lot of app orders but he had my food ready exactly when the app said it would be ready. He mostly only spoke Spanish but he knew enough English to get everything out OK. This is not a place you want to hang out and eat because they only have a few tables and chairs. The churros and crepes looked pretty good but kinda expensive for that kind of fare. If you're nearby and have the half off deal it's not too bad but full price not so much. There is a taco place next door that looked like it was worth a visit. They had a trompo of Al pastor spinning around.

The most disappointing experience I have had in Cave Creek by far!! I initially came in by myself…read moreand let them know I was waiting for my family. I stood at the front for about 5 minutes before being acknowledged, and when I was, I was just told to "sit anywhere." After sitting down, I wasn't given menus and ended up having to go get them myself. Another 5 minutes passed before a server came over. When I asked about the specials that were advertised online, I was initially told there were no specials at all. Then she said, "oh, like happy hour?" which just felt dismissive and rude. We came specifically because of the Taco Tuesday and happy hour deals listed online (which even showed a date of April 7), but none of that was honored, she said that those specials were for the RODEO only. By the time my husband and daughter arrived, we realized there weren't even tacos included on the happy hour menu, which made the whole experience feel even more misleading. Between the lack of organization, slow service, and not honoring clearly advertised specials, the experience just didn't match expectations. It's frustrating to choose a place based on what's promoted and then have a completely different experience when you arrive.

It's not a place where you sit and hang out (unless I missed it). It's clean, quick service, order, pay, and go! FYI, if you want to use your card, there's 4% charge. I ordered the matcha latte with ube cold foam, and oat milk. I really wanted to try the earl grey matcha latte, but unfortunately the earl gray is pre-mixed with 2% milk so I had to go non-dairy. The ube cold foam was actually the perfect flavor, it had the earthiness and vanilla richness that I was looking for to accent the matcha. The matcha itself on the other hand, was a little too milky for my tastes, and kind of got lost in the ube flavor. I would have loved for it to be a little stronger! There was virtually no wait when I came in, but it's definitely a small space with only 2 seats and a small table, so this is a grab-and-go kind of spot. Don't expect a work space! Overall, a good spot with lots of tasty sounding options, and I think I'll be back to try the coffee.
