From time to time I give this place another chance. Today, for breakfast, I found the place virtually empty (9:30 am). Coffee is just extremely weak and warm, NOT hot (they refuse to improve this...and it does matter). I ordered the Two Good to be True. Let's see how they do on the pancakes... Pancakes are very good. This restaurant has been a hit for me for several years now and the new owners are the chefs. My hubby and I came here since we moved to this area. C.C. I'm a widow now but the service people and food are that good and I will continue to enjoy the ambience here. ( they have a real "57" Chevy auto indoors used as a table to eat at where the the front and back seats used to be. Quite unique, gotta try it. You won't be disappointed. read more

Great happy hour, but stick to that menu and keep an eye on the check, not always accurate, or seemingly subject to change. Hard to find cheaper wings at hh, but an extra $1 to properly cook them "extra crispy" insults a consumers' intelligence. read more

Went there Saturday night with a friend. After a long hiatus of almost 2 years because our last couple of meals there was not good. However we were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it very much. The service was also very good. The only problem was how loud it was with entertainment. The country guy singing was good but just way too loud could not even have a conversation with my friend. read more

Sign says best burger in town. So I tried their signature burger with pink in the middle. Burger came well done with microwave bacon on it. Charge you $18 burger when it's a $6 burger at best. Also my kids French fries were still frozen in the middle. read more

Avoid Heart and Soul. Everything about it is utterly miserable. Food was disgusting. Carbs were stale and condiments were long,long out of date--so much so that they were black. Food was inedible and it went straight into the trash. There was no ambiance unless you consider truck stop men's rest rooms to have an ambiance. Not so much a restaurant as a bar selling cheap beer to a handful of bar flys. Place had not been dusted in forever. You could have rewritten "War and Peace" given the quantity of dust on virtually every surface. The place also smelled. Service was ok, but the place was clearly understaffed. Bottom line--Run, don't walk away from this joint. read more

While they did go through some issues during the ownership change the are up and running now. Susan and I have eaten here several times now that the smoke had cleared and the food is great ~ a lot of the old menu items with some great Southwestern additions. read more

It's not the place it used to be. Menu has changed with many past dishes no longer available. The staff that knew us by name are no longer there. The food isn't as good. Used to be you could tell it was a menu and food prepared by a chef. That's no longer the case. We ate here, on average, a couple times a month. Last three visits have been underwhelming. We won't be returning. read more

I have worked at Heart & Soul Cafe for over a year now, and I have to say that everything Sheila and the rest of the kitchen staff prepares is (honestly) the best food I have had in Arizona. It is always fresh, and Sheila's creations are sometimes risky but always worth it! DELICIOUS! I have been spoiled by such good food at the restaurant that I cannot eat a burger any place else ( dont even think about fast food ). No where can you get a breakfast, sandwich, or dinner entree that is prepared the way Heart and Soul does it! Being a server I get to experience first-hand the great customers that come into our restaurant, and have grown very fond of them. The people of Arizona are exceptionally nice and fun, and I enjoy being able to surround myself with them. The staff that I work with (those who make your experience more memorable) have been so much fun over the past year, and it is such a joyful experience to be at the cafe! I can't stay away, even when I am not working, you will find me in there chatting with the customers and employees and stuffing my face with some more great food! Saturday was the first time in Heart and Soul Cafe, and it was a great experience! Me and three of my girlfriends who usually go to Gallagher's for lunch and cocktails, decided to try this cafe out - WE WILL NEVER GO BACK TO GALLAGHERS AGAIN! At heart and soul, the young man who waited on us treated us like we were famous - he greeted us with a smile, insisted we celebrate our friend's birthday in the booth of the car... He and the owner/chef helped with our wine and cocktail selections, and even brought us TWO cakes with candles to end our celebration! Our waiter said he was from Pittsburgh - well I tell you what, this place is lucky to have him! Even with a decent amount of other tables, he was still able to treat us great!!! We may have over-stayed our visit, sitting in the car (drinking and driving ha ha ha), but it was a day to remember! The owner/chef came out and also was very helpful with choosing a delicious meal for us (I had an excellent Salmon dish yum yum!) and my girlfriend had what looked to be a very wholesome "chicken-pot-pie" dish... We recently saw a sign in their window advertising All You Can Eat Buttermilk Chicken, on Wednesday nights for $9.99, so we decided to go this past Wednesday. Let me tell you, the chicken was delicious. It was served with gravy, mashed potatoes, and sauteed zucchini with peppers. Went to the cafe midweek during lunch time, just happened to pass by it looking for something else. They were very busy for the time of day, and as a manager of a restaurant I can acknowledge this and see it for what it is. Service was lacking but as a result of the many tables and few servers. I'm sure if it wasn't as busy things would have been different. She had the cheesesteak sandwich and it was average. I had the burger with jalapeño infused bacon on it. I was thinking before I got the burger this was going to be great, but again average. Management tried to make up for lack of service and 30min wait time for our food by multiple visits to our table. Do not, I repeat do not come here on a Saturday night the Bartender would rather sing keoreoke then take care of the guests then when I ask to speak to the manager she tells me they like the employees to interact with the customers so basically to have fun on the owners clock please if you wanna have fun take a day off but don't neglect a guest you are there to WORK not have a good time since I am a regular guest the next time I came in the so called manager says I was rude because I didn't tip the Bartender are you kidding me? Met friends here as it was a convenient location. How bad can a place with a 1957 Chevy Bel Air drop top in the middle of the dining room be? Well, the meals were sort of like the Chevy, not all there. First bite of my works omelet opened my eyes as it was a burst of wonderful flavors. Best omelet I've had in years. The potatoes were soggy and cold. Bummer. The rye toast was not really toasted and was so lacking in flavor I had to spread some jam on it. My wife said her omelet was good, but missed her expectations. Same with our guests. Will we return? Maybe. read more

The food is very good, and the service in the restaurant is generally good too. Excellent all-you-can-eat chicken dinner on Wednesdays for about $10! The bar service is wanting. How does that saying go...."..you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave." Bartender is friendly enough, but doubles as a food server, so they are RARELY behind the bar, so don't go for conversation.... and ask for your bill and produce the payment when they drop your food, or it will be another 30 minutes after you are ready to go before you actually exit. read more

Food is good. Service is beyond awful. Servers ignore you, do not refill drinks and seem to not care at all. Food takes forever to come and the servers do not come by at all. I have been there three times and prefer to go to places with better service. Yes I did enjoy the food and urge the owners to train their staff better. If you have kids this is a very cool place to take them for breakfast. Staff is always friendly and there is a ton of options on the menu for everyone. Wife loves the Swiss omelette. By God's grace, we had his epi Pen nearby. We still ended up in the ER as his breathing was impacted in addition to the hives (thankfully the epi pen helped but he still had to receive treatment and be monitored). All of this was due to pancakes that we were told were gluten free. While my husband and I rushed our son to the hospital, my father who is a local resident, spoke with management.
