For a small town like Ellijay, you would think you are in a much larger city where upscale grocery stores tend to be more common. Excellent wine and beer selection and a very nice cheese area. The employees, especially Butch, bend over backwards to help you find items. If they don't have it, they will get it for you. So pleased to have this gem nearby. read more

We always shop here during our annual family vacation. The store is clean, well stocked, and the staff are friendly and helpful. They also have an above-average selection of items. Their various deli food bars and bakery are a highlight for my family. I really wish I had access to a store such as this where I live. read more

When I walked in I was shocked to see a full Starbucks inside and as I was shopping I was even more shocked to see how many varieties of items they had. This store is fully stocked with everything and anything you need. How amazing! I want one were I love. Best grocery store even beats all the health food stores. July 23, 2021- We went to the store to purchase dinner for a weekend family reunion. The deli counter personnel were VERY helpful, professional, and efficient. I ordered two large boxes of fried chicken and they made them fresh while we shopped. We picked up three rotisserie chickens, a few side items for dinner. The East Ellijay, GA Ingles store located at 100 Old Orchard Square, East Ellijay, GA 30540, does a terrible job stocking their sale items. I rarely leave low reviews. If gas was free this might not be an issue. Out of Stock on two sale items on the first day of the sale and in the afternoon. On top of that... no rain checks allowed. Not acceptable! Sorry Ingles. Time to learn the facts that the digital age is here to stay. Retail and grocery stores are ready, willing and able to provide good customer service and accommodations. You only get one chance at a first impression and this Ingles was the shining star of our first stop in Ellijay. After a long drive, unloading our luggage at the cabin, and venturing out into town, this was just what we needed. The parking lot was clean and so was the store. Covid-19 precautions were executed to the fullest, wipes for carts were available. Variety was off the charts for this small town store! We were able to get everything on the list and more to have a cozy mountain getaway. Lastly, the cashier was a young man and very friendly. He got us signed up for a store rewards card and saved us some good $$$. read more

This Ingles is amazing! My mom lives in Elijay and she brings me to this store to shop for food when I am here. Everything is extremely organized, and it is very noticeable. All of the food items are facing forward and in a straightened manner. This makes shopping more pleasurable and easier to see things. INGLES TO THE RESCUE!! Ingles has become my new best friend as we are traveling throughout the south. It seems to be popular everywhere but in our hometown. I love these stores because they are big, bright, clean and well stocked. I never make it past the produce, deli, bakery area because this is my primary area of interest. When on a day trip or traveling distance I usually like to pack up the cooler with fruit and snacks, but for those times when I don't, I can always count on an Ingles for a hot snack or delicious fruit. The salad bar is always stunning with its variety of fresh options. I loved that they had individual water bottles on ice and ready for purchase. For those of you who prefer a hot beverage, this location has a Starbuck's. My husband and I were able to grab a couple of items, pay at the deli and eat at the little cafe with the locals. It was a nice way to end our visit to Ellijay. The next time we are in the area, we will stop at the Ingles FIRST to make sure that we have enough water and provisions. I have learned that I cannot drink the local water and fruit and veggies are not always on the menu. So, I will be better prepared next time. If your not getting your prescriptions from Ingles your missing out on excellent service, unlike CVS you are not just a number Christine the pharmacist really cares and goes way above and beyond to help. I don't have insurance and they go out of their way to get your pricing down. And there is no 2 hour wait for your medication. I'm sure the management is aware of the great personal service but I just wanted to say this so others can get the same personal service it really matters!!!!! read more

I must say they have a very good selection of organic products and fresh produce. But I think they take advantage of the fact that they're the only game in town. They're pricing is stupidly more expensive than Kroger Publix or anybody else for that matter. Even with the dumb Ingle card...I have verified this several times over. I will go out of my way to go through Canton and shop there moving forward. If you want to get more for your money I would go somewhere else read more

Aside from upscale markets (ex. Fresh Market and Whole Foods), I very rarely enjoy a grocery trip at a spot other than Publix. As I was visiting Ellijay we went to the local Ingles for groceries, and I was very impressed. A beautiful, clean store with very fair/low pricing for high quality items. A number of products I've not seen before at Publix, and really helpful staff. read more

Consistently long lines with no bagger to assist the cashier which likely leads to increased waiting times and lines. Cashiers tend to be unpleasant and stoic - most likely because they are receiving no help. As I was standing in line today, an elderly woman was bagging her own groceries and accidentally dropped a bottle of wine on the floor while placing it in her cart. The bottle fell and broke, leaking on the floor. The associate working the register rolled her eyes in disgust and didn't say a word to the customer. The customer apologized and continued to just be stared at by the associate who did not even acknowledge the lady. The customer began to leave the store before I was the one who finally told her that she should grab a new bottle of wine, as nobody working was willing to even assist the lady or offer to grab her another bottle. Sadly, there aren't many other grocery store options around, so it would be nice if Ingles management could do a little training on the importance of customer service because it is lacking here. Ingle's has recently remodeled it's Ellijay supermarket. There is now a vast selection of products. The produce section is always stocked with the freshest fruits and veggies. I shop for groceries here every week, and they have never been out of a product. Well, I take that back....during a buy 1 get 1 free sale someone bought ALL the Chips A Hoy cookies that I like. I was able to get them once restocked though. :) My husband and I have never had a bad experience with their fresh fish. Cod, haddock, salmon, sea bass, talipa, grouper, crab legs, shrimp....we've eaten it all. The food offerings are outstanding and rival area restaurants. The salad and olive bar is fantastic. The Chinese food hot bar is small, but stocked with favorites, like Lo Mein, eggrolls (delicious!), and fried rice. They are offering 10" personal pizzas made to order for $4.98! Their hot bar meal offerings change daily, but include the county's most delicious fried chicken and meatloaf, real mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, corn bread and much more. The hot bar plates start at $4.98. You can have a sandwich made to order, and the bread and makings are always fresh (unlike a certain sandwich chain restaurant in town), and those start at $4.98 for a 6" sub. The bakery has mini cakes in vanilla and chocolate frosting that are to-die-for. My husband and I have actually chosen to eat at Ingle's on a Saturday night rather than a restaurant...that's how great the food is and no need to leave a tip. The manager and assistant manager can be seen on the floor stocking shelves and helping customers. They greet everyone. I can't say enough about how wonderful this supermarket is. read more
