Artistic Tattoo is an old school style tattoo parlor. There are lots of flash sheets on the wall and ceiling. While looking at various shop Instagram pages, I came across Artistic Tattoo. A new design for January's Friday 13th promotion was exactly what I was looking for... and then some. Unlike shops with long lines for tiny tattoos, Artistic Tattoo's Friday 13th event had palm size and up tattoos. Reservations were required for the event. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment, as I had been instructed to. I was called back before my appointment time. Joseph Leary was my tattoo artist. There were two spots I was considering having the tattoo done. Joseph went over the pros and cons of both spots. He seemed genuinely interested in making sure I was happy with the placement of the tattoo. This tattoo hurt less than my previous ones. I was waiting to see the (mostly) healed products before writing my review. The tattoo out beautifully. I am so incredibly happy with it. Second Skin was used rather than plastic wrap. This drastically helped speed up the healing process. Joseph knows what he is doing. His 15 years in the business gives him a wealth of knowledge only obtained through experience. He understands the importance of quality and customer service. Quality work gets people talking. That talk brings in more business. I would not hesitate to get another tattoo from Joseph.

They only specialize in "traditional" style... however, I was NOT informed about that until I saw that the finished product was done entirely in the "traditional" cartoonish style. It looked nothing like the photo I showed them. Crooked, squiggly lining. It looks like a child's drawing. I find it hard to believe this Artist has 30+ years of experience. Were you drunk? SO EMBARRASSED! Thank God I found another artist/shop who was HONEST about their style, does coverups, and is going to make it what I wanted. BE HONEST WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS. IF YOU DON'T SPECIALIZE IN A CERTAIN STYLE, TELL THEM!

I love the piece that my cousin custom designed for me but I'm truly so disappointed to say I regret the tattoo deeply just based on how bad the experience was and how bad the tattoo is. We look through all the fun and interesting designs that were being offered and picked a cactus. The special was 31 dollars for a flash tattoo and you could get up to 3 piercings for 31 dollar each as well (tipping strongly suggested). We arrived around 4:30 PM as I had to work that day. We were greeted by a nice lady at the front desk and after paying told to return around 9:30 PM. Hoping the line would somehow go faster we hung around the shop. We were thankful for this as we did get called earlier than expected and were finished, bandaged and out the door around 7:30 PM. My biggest issues that I had was that I observed a lot of people not tipping. You artist has been working for hours on end to give you a decent tattoo the least you can do is throw them a few dollars. Will I return, Yes!
