I went to see Drake for a piece off of his flash and had a great experience! He has so many amazing pieces on his flash it was hard to decide on just one. His work and style is really unique and I've never seen anything like it before! When Drake and I met he was very attentive to my requests on size, placement, etc.! There was a perfect balance of us getting to know each other and sitting back and enjoying the process. This was my first color tattoo and I learned a lot about the healing, maintenance and care for it. The colors he mixed for my tattoo are perfect, the eyes and nose color are so unique and still just as vibrant as the day I got it! This shops came recommended and to go see Chris Naderer. I set up a consultation and met him and we chatted. Chris paid attention and had suggestions and seemed excited so I booked it. Left my deposit and he told me he draws up his stuff the morning of and he'd see me then. I will admit this was a bit out of my comfort zone but hey, I really liked our conversation and embraced the process. I arrived here n my day and time and was blown away by what Chris came up with. Just amazing. He was fast and I just feel he nailed my vision. I'd say if you're looking for ink, call Chris Naderer. read more

I got a finger tattoo here with a friend and the next day went to wash my hands.. the tattoo literally washed off. I was/am completely shock since this is not my first finger tattoo and yes I do know that they fade faster but for the tattoo to completely come off from washing my hands is crazy. Did I mention it was almost 200$ for a simple cross. I don't recommend. Save your money and time go elsewhere. read more

I heard about this place from someone who was tatooed by an artist who no longer works there. I studied the website and found a different artist whose art looked pretty good--I'm interested in old school traditional... Sailor Jerry, etc. I have multiple tattoos, so I'm not new to this. Excellent care by Golden Rule. Social distancing in place. No issues with reserving a time slot or checking in! Most Excellent work by Eric Jones with this finished piece (my first ever)! I came with a design in mind and Eric was quick to draw them up. Once we found the right position we were on! Eric was great at connecting and shared lots of stories. Super super in love with our tattoos from here. My mom and I had Holly and she was amazing. She made us feel super comfortable and talked us through what to expect with the healing process as ours were going on our fingers. I stopped in here a few weeks ago to get another tat. Was greeted pleasantly by the receptionist, and was greeted quickly by the artist (Drake). The linework was done well and was by far the least painful tattoo Ive ever had. Pricing was a bit high $120 for a small 3", black-only tat, but I expected that walking in there. As Arnold Schwarzenegger once said: "I'll be back." read more

Edited Review!! David is one of the owners and he reached out to me almost immediately to ask how this could be fixed. He refunded my money and also paid to have a different artist cover the original tattoo. I worked with John who was honestly wonderful! He was professional, but still laid back. He listened to what I wanted, made changes with no complaint when I asked and gave me a beautiful tattoo. I was also very impressed that he free handed my feather. Overall, the owner is an amazing help, awesome customer service, willing to correct mistakes, and John is an awesome artist. I will be coming back to him in the future! The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is because originally I was given a pretty awful experience. I am leaving the original, because that was my experience with one artist in this shop. read more

This is by far the best tattoo shop I have ever been to. I saw Kat and she was very helpful and professional, as well as patient as I asked questions. She also worked quickly and accurately. The staff was also super helpful and friendly. The lady at the front desk helped me find who would be best for the artwork I wanted done and was incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. Something to note: all the artists book up pretty far in advance from what I could tell, so you'll want to plan accordingly. Definitely can see why they book up! Also the shop itself is very clean and well kept. Sanitation standards are very high which is very important. Also the atmosphere is pretty cool and laid back. I highly recommend visiting this shop if you're interested in getting tattoo. The atmosphere and everyone who works here are all extremely nice and friendly. I got my first tattoo, a tiger on my thigh, and I could not have had a better experience because of Nathan! Nathan was extremely informative, patient, and most of all accommodating! I got my first tattoo in March and I am now finishing up a dragon half-sleeve on my forearm that will be done first week of July. I was extremely hesitant to get a tattoo because I was afraid of the pain but trust me, it's not that bad and it's 100% worth it! Nathan is by far one of the most dopest and talented artists!! He will listen to whatcha want, provide an honest input, and most of all give you a kick ass piece (it has always been better than anything I could think of) Again, I cannot reiterate myself more. History

Established in 2009.

Golden Rule Tattoo opened in July 2009 on Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix. The community welcomed us fully and before we knew it we couldn't keep up with the demand! So, after a couple of years we were fortunate enough to be able to expand when our neighboring suite became available. We quickly rented a space at an art gallery to keep our customers appointments going and we did a rapid demolition of the separating wall and doubled in size overnight. This allowed us to add more of the top artists that also love and embrace customer service. Still, we again find that we can't keep up with demand. We now have our 2nd location at 7th st and Camelback. We have the 8 time 2013-2020 Az Foothills "Best Tattoo Artist in Az" Jason Anthony, along with 20 other world class artists. We’re nice and all are welcome here. Let us be your tattoo shop!

I got tattooed by Paul on Saturday. He did a good sized piece on my forearm and man, I just have a few things to say about this shop. 1. Believe the advertising. They were really nice, positive, and stupidly clean. You could eat off the floor here. The rapport among the staff was awesome and the environment was really calm and welcoming. 2. Paul is f-ing awesome at his job. He took his time on my drawing, was diligent and focused when doing his work. His lines were crisp and clean and the color turned out beautiful. He sketched my tattoo, finished drawing it up in about an hour, and then got to work. He explained every intricate detail of the design elements and even asked Steph for some perspective on the design to make it better. The guy knows his stuff and does a damn good job. 3. Price was outstandingly reasonable for my piece. For the type of service/tattoo that I got here I got my money's worth and then some. 4. Parking sucks. Show up early. That's my only complaint. If you come here with a patient, friendly, open minded attitude, and let the artists here do their jobs (i.e., give them some creative freedom and be nice) they'll return it in spades. I've never been happier with a tattoo and I plan on coming back to see Paul as often as my wallet allows. read more

I wanted a tattoo with our fingerprints together in the shape of a heart with his EKG reading the hospital gave me. The first time I went, Dany and his team spent an hour just to make sure they could get a good imprint of my ringer finger. We tried several ways but none of them came out well. Instead of just making do with what he was able to get, he suggested putting it off in order to make sure I got a good imprint. He had no guarantees that I would be back, but he rather lose the money than give me a bad tattoo, especially given the purpose of it. But I did go back last night with everything ready, and he spent well over two hours crafting the tattoo, making sure it was what I wanted, that it looked good, and that it was positioned well. He even got my daughter involved in the conversation and sought her opinion, making her feel included. He wanted to be absolutely sure that it honored my husband as I wanted. Then we got started and talked the whole time and it wasn't nearly as painful as past tattoos have been. He is a wonderful human being who really cared about his job and making people happy with his art. I've never had a better experience getting tattoos and if I ever wanted another one, or when my kids are ready for one, there will be no reason to look at anyone else in the area. Thank you Dany. Brianna was also almost exact on her quote for the amount of hours it would take and price. The studio itself is very clean and many individual rooms, so it felt private and comfortable. I was a bit nervous because I have vasovagal reactions to needles, but Brianna was prepared made sure I was good when we started both sessions. Brianna went over the top to make sure I had some tattoo balm to take home after the first session since I only had products that would have damaged the tattoo.
