Dr. Cury is the best. It's too bad his staff is horrible! Been our eye doctor since 2001 (or 2002), we switched because of that front office person named Jessica who is not very personable nor helpful. Deal with someone else when making an appointment and make sure your phone number is current in case they change the time of your appointment which is what happened to us. Our phone number is current just that the area code has changed! Hello, Temecula area code is no longer 909. This company drives me nuts!! I called them last Thursday to place my contact lens order. I was told I "couldn't do that because the eye doctor I saw last month didn't finalize my prescription." What? And why couldn't the response have been "sure, we can place your order, we just need to finalize your prescription first." I was told to call their other office location (again, bizarre they couldn't handle this for me). I called and got the other office location's voicemail, I left a message and waited. 24 hours went by so I called again, the woman who answered told me she couldn't help me because she was the "answering service." She could only send that office an email. Really?? I explained to her that I tried calling them yesterday and I wanted to receive my contacts prior to the next Friday. That didn't matter to her. I decided to call that other office again to get my prescription finalized and I finally got through to someone. I then asked her to order my contacts. She said she could not do that. I had to call the original office back. What???? You people are making money from this contact order, are you not?? So, I attempted to call the original office back and I've been disconnected twice today. Ridiculous!! I called and pushed the button for an appointment instead and I got to a person. But this wasn't a person who could order my contacts she has to put me through to someone else. I FINALLY got through to this infamous person who was capable of placing my contact order and her system was down so she wasn't able to take my money for contacts. Craziness. Don't support these crooks, I paid for an exam, got the prescription but it was missing the pupil distance needed by lens manufactures. They wanted to charge me another $25 dollars for a number they were supposed to include and that I already paid for! Fine! Me and my five family members will take our business elsewhere. Horrible, horrible, horrible is what you get when you visit inland eye specialists. I have taken my son three times for an exam and waited for over 45 minutes in the lobby. The staff is incompetent and rude. I stayed with them because the optometrist was great. He has since retired and I'm outta there!! Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

I don't often do ratings on doctors, but Dr. Cury was an exceptional doctor, so I felt I needed to weigh in. He is very knowledgeable and takes his time to explain things thoroughly. He is very friendly and allows you to ask all the questions you have without that feeling of being rushed. While he was waiting for my eyes to dilate, he even took a peek at my 3 yr old son's eyes (who has obvious amblyopia) and talked to me about him too and gave me his insights! It is obvious he loves what he does and continues to gain knowledge and share it wherever he can! I would recommend him to anyone and will continue to see him! It doesn't get better than this! I had probably the best experience that I've ever had at an eye appointment. First, Demi the nurse was fantastic. She made me feel important and as if I were the only patient. I wasn't rushed at all and she showed genuine concern for me. The icing on the eye-cake was Dr. McDiarmid. He should teach other doctors about bedside manner. He was efficient and friendly. He joked with my daughter and me and made my eye exam the best I ever had. Got the most thorough eye exam I've ever had here! Totally satisfied. Saw Dr. Cury and I really like him. The customer service from the girls up front was great and I had a friendly staff member helping me choose frames as well. They make good on their warranties also. About 20 months after purchasing prescription sunglasses, they broke and they completely replaced them for me. This is not a discount center but I felt I got better care and service. First, this review is not about the eye exam which was satisfactory. The optical office said they would call me when my glasses were ready. I waited three weeks and I did not hear from them. I left 3 voice mail messages, three days in a row and no response! I went into their office and complained. They did not even say, sorry or apologize in any way, just asked for my name. I pressed them as to why they didn't return my calls and was told they get numerous calls even for some of their other locations. That did not answer my question. They said you have to push option 4 to leave a message at their Temecula location. I did push option 4. I will not purchase glasses here again as they have very poor customer service! read more

I left this office feeling that I was rushed thru the exam. I originally told the scheduler I wanted an exam for glasses and contacts. The doctor was in such a rush he only examined me for glasses and as I was disappointed with the rush he was in, I didnt bother to mention the contacts. I also left without knowing the results of all the tests the assistant did on my eyes before the docs exam, they didn't review those with me. They weren't bad but I won't return as I prefer more interaction and like to feel like I'm not at a drive thru. read more

Dr. Cury is wonderful! Even though it took 40 minutes after my actual appointment time to be called back, I recommended Inland Eye Specialists to 2 family members because he is so fabulous. Unfortunately, the had the same experience, even being the first appointment of the day.... The front office does not have it together. When I called to order contacts after waiting a week with the trials, it was a cluster. Took me being passed around and on the phone for 20+ minutes before getting everything squared away. I chalked it up to a bad day and not the norm (hopefully). Well after picking up my new contacts on Saturday, I noticed that I am getting head aches and not seeing as well as I was. After really inspecting the contacts, I noticed the prescription strength is incorrect...too strong. When I called the office, they were less than helpful. Told me they could do nothing until I brought the actual box of contacts in which are 'special order'. So I now have to take time off work to make it during their business hours and still wait to get the new ones or struggle through until I can make it in on Saturday and wait 5 days for my new contacts... Again, Dr. Cury is fantastic. It's unfortunate the staff are not complementing his skill and talent. read more

Have been going here for years, and hated the wait, which was at least 30 minutes. Trying to get around this, the next year I made the first appointment for the day. I arrived, signed in, and waited between 30 and 45 minutes, even though there was no one in front of me. When I mentioned it to the doctor, he kind of chuckled and said why are you in such a hurry. My wife is diabetic and requires a yearly eye exam. After checking with Angie's list and Yelp, we decided to give Inland Eye Specialists in Temecula a try. Normally we use Costco for our exams, but decided to try something different, and "easier". At check-in we asked to get confirmation of coverage under our insurance plan. After placing a call, the receptionist told us that we had full coverage, with not even a co-pay. As that sounded better than paying the customary $60 or so at Costco, we said OK. At this point I need to make it clear that the actual exam was excellent, and Dr. Cury appears to be a caring competent person. All went well and we went on our way assuming all was well. Two months late, we received a statement requesting payment of $79.00. Apparently our insurance did not pay for 100% of the $241 dollar charge for a standard refractive exam with dilation. I called the billing department for an explanation and was told "sorry, but your insurance does NOT provide full coverage, and there is a $20 co-pay. No attempt was made to adjust the pricing due to their error. OK, I understand a little about how the "insurance game" is played, but why charge $241 for a service we could get elsewhere for about one third of that amount. I made it clear that we would pay the $79, but would not be returning to their offices, and that I would post my feelings about this on Angie's List and Yelp. We learned a valuable lesson from this and will go back to our previous scenario with Costco, or a different provider with reasonable pricing. We have used this optometrist before for my daughters contacts without any real complaints. I scheduled an appointment for my son which was to be at 8:30 this morning. We showed up promptly at 8:20 and checked in. After 45 minutes past the scheduled appointment time I complained to which they explained that they were training a new technician. At 1:15 past the appointment time they apologized and asked anyone if they wanted to reschedule but I passed as I had already invested so much of my time in order to get this done before my sons summer break is over next week. At 10:00 I decided that this is not the caliber of business that I can support. I got my copay refunded and left, never to return. There are plenty of other optometry businesses in town that will respect my time, they will get my family's business. If they were this far behind at the beginning of their day, I can only imagine how bad it got by 4pm! Schedule at your own risk. read more

I have been going to Inland Eye Specialists, with my family, for a few years now. We typically receive annual eye exams only as we don't have special needs for glasses or contacts. Last year they botched our appointment day/time and offered no apology. I was upset but gave them the benefit of the doubt that it was a one time mistake and everyone is allowed to have a bad day every now or then. Fast forward to this year, IES decided to take it upon themselves to cancel our (multiple) appointments without warning and again offered no apology when we showed up. It is not easy to coordinate the kids school schedule and work schedule for appointments such as these. And then to show up and have the office tell you they've cancelled your appointment with no warning. How hard is it to pick up the phone and let someone know that you need to cancel. And after identifying that they had, in fact, cancelled our appointments we were offered the option to 'hang out all day and the doctor might squeeze you in.' Inland Eye Specialist really needs to revamp their reception desk and provide the front desk staff with Customer Service training. We will not be going back and we suggest you continue to shop around for another doctors office who appreciates your time and business. read more

Great eval by physician. Customer Service by receptionist and tech is lacking. My order was lost to follow up even after I called weekly for a month. I was continually told I would be compensated for my inconvenience and once again no one on the staff followed up. Even after waiting for my glasses for OVER a month! Once I finally did receive my glasses, I was told by the tech that the Office Manager would call me and I never heard back. I will never return for care at the Temecula site. read more

How is this place still allowed to be in business with all of these poor reviews? Take warning before you consider making an appointment with them. I received the worst treatment I have ever received from Inland Eye Specialists today. I waited 50 minutes to receive the treatment I went in for. I overheard the Dr. Cahoon ( I believe) and the assistants bantering in the hallway outside of the room I was sitting in. I could hear very clearly everything. He didn't even know the procedure I was coming in for. Clearly they were not ready. He needed to ask them what the doctor's use there for the irrigation. The girl said tap water and he said really? Then he asked with them of the tools used. I am beginning to feel quite nervous. Does this guy know what to do? While the assistant set up he went on to check on other patients. I had already been in the room for 50 minutes waiting!!! During the procedure the assistant was giving him suggestions on how to do the irrigation. Needless to say I walked out with the Doctor recommending I go to another one of doctors in Murrieta to have him look at what I needed done. Any question I asked Dr. Cahoon I got the same answer, "I don't know?". Although he referred to the procedure he was doing as "Fun!" Not so much for me. I paid $40.00 copay and got nothing done and no answers to any of my questions. Seriously...this was a ridiculous waste of my time today. Don't even get me started on the eyeglasses/lens department. I will reserve that rant for another date. Just get the prescription and go to Costco. read more

Dr. Curry deserves 4 stars! He is knowledgeable, friendly and does a thorough exam. His office staff has been a mess for the last 6 months and is bringing him down. I ordered glasses in December of 2011 and have yet to receive a pair that were my prescription and correctly made. Although my prescription was clearly marked as "reading only" the tech decided the Dr was wrong and informed me I would be best with bi-focals. The glasses arrived in January and I told them they hurt my eyes..."no, you just have to get used to them. It may take awhile." I tried and it was horrible with headaches and blurred vision. I brought them back and asked that they correct the issue..I was put through questioning as if I had screwed up. When it was obvious that not only did they create the wrong glasses they also billed me too much. Since then a new staff has been brought in and they seem to be willing to try and correct the problems. I've been told my glasses are now fixed and ready to pick up...we'll see. 10 months in the making they should be made of gold. read more
