Came here to get bagels for the house of people I was staying with, and walked in right when it opened. It's your standard deli, you can get sandwhiches and other things that you need. Got breakfast sammies here on a "Shoulder Season" Fridy and the place was bare bones. Hardly any produce is carried here. Don't reply on them for groceries or supplies but the breakfast sandwiches were fresh and so delicious - eaten out at the picnic tables. A nice old school deli in Barnegat Light. The place has been here forever, as well as the people working here. A good hearty breakfast sandwich at a reasonable price. Coffee is good too. My only complaint is that they took out all the tables to eat at because of "COVID", as well have random plastic sheets hanging that do nothing at all to protect anyone as they aren't in the areas where people are close to one another. Add the tables back and let people enjoy company with one another like a beach town/ deli is known for. Also, can we please open the bathrooms to paying patrons? COVID, really??!? read more

Wow, the food here is exquisite, however I don't think they know how to cut bagels. I got 5 bagels and 2 of them were given medial cuts instead of half...I am FURIOUS! Open year round. Sandwiches are well made and tasty, they have delicious crumb cake and donuts (huge!) as well as other breakfast items. They also stock some essential items for a weekend stay. The folks that work here are always very accommodating and friendly. Located at the northern tip of Barnegat Light so grab a sandwich and a drink and walk over to the picnic tables by the lighthouse and watch the boats and fishermen. read more

When a business has been open for over 125 years, you assume it will be good. The Inlet Deli wasn't just good, it was excellent. It is a small grocery store and sandwich shop but, although limited in choices, it still had everything we needed. However, what made it excellent, is its staff. We received over the top assistance in finding items we needed when we didn't know where to look. When ordering sandwiches, the staff made recommendations that were right on the money for our tastes. The prepared food was delicious. Finally, even the décor was pleasant and gave us a comfortable feeling. I can't believe I've been coming to this island for over 30 years and never stopped in before. The deli sandwiches are actually very tasty, and depending on the time you get here will determine if you're in line a long time or waiting for your food a long time. The place is run mostly by teens at the counter and register, so things could get hectic. When I was there on multiple visits, staff was nice and it was not crowded. We stopped in here around noon on a Saturday, it was not busy and our order was taken right away. However, the wait was about 30 minutes for two hoagies and even with about 5 people behind the deli counter working. There are not many deli options in this immediate area so make sure to call and order ahead to avoid the wait or just don't come in hungry if you're willing to order in-store. Oh, man. Used to enjoy this place back in the day. But now ... Went there August 30th around noon for a sub. The teen assembling my sandwich had long floppy blond hair that he shook as he struggled to slice the bread. No head treatment. Definitely not cool. Said teen (about 15 years old) then proceeded to botch the order. Person obviously hadn't received proper food service training, for which I blame management. Staff smile at each other and snarl at the customers, it's obvious they are over the tourist season. I was not impressed with the cheesesteak, it was cooked in an obscene amount of oil, so much oil that it coated the outside of the bun. My hands were a greasy mess before the first bite, and of course there were no napkins put in the bag. I love this place! It has just what you need. This is a deli, not a grocery store but they do stock some essential items for your stay on LBI. From toilet paper to deodorant, they've got you covered. The kids working always try their best, but there is little to no supervision. Lots of inconsistencies with the sandwiches with regard to the prices, what's included, and the quality in which it is made. I ordered the egg salad wrap special and it was soggy, squished, and unappetizing looking. A while back this was the place to go, but it's really fallen off in the past 5 or 6 years. I love the inlet deli. Every summer that I come to LBI we go there. The sandwiches are really good, and they always have a wide selection of foods. The best thing is that they are also good for breakfast. The employees are also very nice, and they complete your orders in a timely fashion. I have been there twice--once this year and once last year. Last year the service was quick and the food was good. This year, my experience was very bad. I went in to get lunch with my mother after visiting Barnegat Light. There were five people working behind the counter. No one came to help us and after waiting at the counter for several minutes being ignored, we started leaving only to be called back. We placed our orders and waited for about 15 minutes to get them. We ordered a chicken salad sandwich, and after waiting about 10 minutes, we were told there was no chicken salad left asked if we wanted a chicken cutlet. Without asking about any condiments, we were given a slab of chicken on a roll, with no condiments or vegetables. We ordered small sandwiches, and they charged us for a larger size. When we inquired about why they charged us more than the menu price, the cashier and five kitchen workers all began arguing with us, telling us we misread the menu. We paid the more expensive price and left, only to have the cashier give us a snarky remark as we left. While the food was average, the service was very bad. I will not be patronizing the establishment again. read more

But we keep going back....Their bagel sandwiches are superb. The staff/operation is a cluster. Every other time we go the pricing is different. Yesterday the new insult was to take our egg/bacon/cheese and give it away to 'friends' who arrived after we did....so we ended up with a double wait! About half the time they screw up the order by getting the wrong contents on the wrong bagels. They are shamelessly unfair and incompetent. So 'south jersey'. Just order lunch two hoagies, cheesesteak and pork roll egg and cheese. All the sandwiches were big on the bread, but nothing else. No cheese on the cheesesteak and two small slivers of a fried onion. Bread over powered the hoagies and little taste of fresh lettuce and tomatoe. Called and spoke to owner to express my concern and all she said was no one ever complains and sorry. This new owner has only been around one year. We always went here with the old owner and was never disappointed. Will be going to White's for our sandwiches from now on especially when the owner made no attempt to offer a recourse for our terrible lunch besides saying sorry. read more

We called the Inlet Deli for sandwich trays for the bridal party for lunch for my daughter's wedding at Bonnet Island Estate. We ended up getting mini muffins for their breakfast and trays for the band and photographer too. They made it simple and Joe even accommodated me by cutting up fresh fruit. It was all delivered in plenty of time and enjoyed. I highly recommend them for any service like this-- you will not regret it! Also-- very cheerful and kind. Boy. Is that owner/manager an ignorant person. I have shopped at this location for 20 YEARS and I have never experienced such rudeness. Not only do they NOT post prices which i know is bc this is summer but when I was checking out with the salesclerk the most rudest man (acting like a mgr) came over to the register & started to recalculate my purchases just spouting off new prices writing them on a scrap piece of paper with a highlighter stating that the prices went up almost double!
