I have recommended Chad and inmotion on several occasions. They fixed my water heater emergency over a year ago and then came out again for a furnace and water valve emergency. They get five stars for responsiveness especially during an emergency, but I have to take off two stars for 1) nickeling and diming and 2) standing by their work. Long story short...paid them $900 to fix a furnace which Juan, the tech, told me he wasn't sure if the fix would last through the week. So we had them install a new furnace for $4500 a couple weeks later. Within weeks, we have seen two leaks on the new flue pipe and condensation pump. When I asked them to look at the leaks, Chad charged me $240 to come and fix it! After a lengthy discussion, Chad did reverse the charges but I didn't appreciate the nickeling and diming during the process (happened on multiple occasions during the fix and repair), and then he gave me a hard time when I questioned whether they stood by their work. He also fixed a valve issue at the same time of the furnace repair for another $900. He charged me $70 to come out and give me an estimate and assessment on what needed to be done. Really?Surprising given how much time and money I just forked over. Bottom line...Chad is responsive but will charge you for every little thing and turn it back on you if you question anything including if you see leaks and other problems with their work. read more

I found In-Motion through the phonebook, Our hydronic system was on the fritz and hadn't been running for a year or more. This was last November or December with the cold coming on strong. Our cabin is near the end of the line in Rubicon, so not convenient for service people I needed to get it functional again plus I wanted to disconnect from the water system. It was evening, Chad answered the phone and was out the next day. He resolved the initial issue and we then had heat, he also advised on how to modify the system to provide a built in reservoir so that the system wouldn't depend on water pressure. On his next visit in mid winter we converted to this new feature and flushed the system giving it a good cleaning. Its been running superbly ever since. Chad knows his business and is the most responsive heating and plumbing service technician we have ever worked with in the 32 years we have owned and maintained our cabin with its hydronic heating system. read more

Last winter we were renting a home when the heater failed in the middle of the night, on a Saturday. We followed typical tenant protocol and contacted the homeowner to address the situation, concerned for our children and elderly family member under our care. The homeowner couldn't get anyone out to the home that weekend without paying an outrageous amount of money. Chad is highly qualified, and a true professional. He replaced a complex boiler system in our house in Lake Tahoe, a project that was made more difficult by the fact that we live 500 miles away. Chad made the process extremely easy by keeping us informed of his progress, and consulting with us on large decisions. We felt extremely comfortable having Chad undertake the project in our absence, despite the distance. Chad also found the part that was needed to fix a faucet, and fixed the faucet, that another plumber told us could not be fixed. By doing so, he saved us over $1,000. 10:30 pm at night, heard water running in the basement. I started to call a another plumber and remembered Chad and his new business. I was able to reach him and he came over and stopped the leak and was here until almost midnight. He showed up in his superman pajama top! How fitting because he saved the day! The next morning he was here to replace an old pipe line and he worked diligently until it was repaired. The space he had to work in was very small and I was amazed that he ould get to it. Juan was sent by Inmotion to help deal with a broken water heater his service was excellent and knowledgeable. It was hard to pin point the issue in our water heater so he had to came back to fix it untill he could figure out the issue. He anwered the phone every time I called and was very responsive. He was very understanding and patient to come back and offer help. He did everything so we wouldn't have to spend the holiday weekend with out hot water. InMotion have served us well twice. Last spring Matt installed 12 feet of 8-inch ducting in our attic and roof for an expanded range hood. This fall Juan replaced an auto drain valve, re-plumbed the kitchen gas valve to bring it outside of the wall, advised on faucet replacement, and posited multiple excellent options for relocating our laundry room -- one of which we intend to do. There were some issues with the initial service, however, in the end, the owner of the company came in on a service call and fixed it. In the end, I have a working furnace, removed dead equipment, and new thermostats. I have quotes for further work including a new hot water heater. So I am happy in InMotion, and would recommend them to anyone in Truckee. read more

Chad has been servicing our boiler for several years. We started using him when we had a boiler breakdown on a cold November evening. Chad came to help us out.
