Staff were absolutely amazing. Went during their busiest week of their season. Enjoyed complementary beverages and breakfast on their rooftop patio feeling the dewy morning breeze and watching the surf come in. Wonderful and relaxing atmosphere for the entire family.

Quaint little Inn. We checked in and the front desk person was nice however didn't mention anything about the amenities. The room smelled a little and doesn't have air conditioning. TV was wonky to work. Private parking which was nice!

Breakfast with that amazing Latte on the rooftop. That made a difference with our stay . You are well taken cared of at this place . There's pie and ice cream in the evening time . Popcorn all day . On the beach. A lot of nice places to eat with a 10% discount from the Pizza place next door . Room is comfortable. We stayed in a regular room which is quite small bed for me and hubby so we made reservation to stay at a balcony room . We had a wonderful stay . This place is our to go place every other month now . Beautiful beach front.

Had a great stay! The room was so cozy and you can't beat the pie and ice cream at night plus the coffee and breakfast in the morning, with a beautiful view of the ocean.

Here's how they fix a broken t.p. dispenser.

This place is a joke! Summer weekday rates with partial ocean view will cost over $400 a night. Paying for no ocean, you'll get rooms with a view of the parking and rooms across the outside walkways. The motel's greeting on this site claims each guest is given a welcome bag with snacks and all sorts of great things. That is NOT true. We.were offered nothing, nor were the people ahead of us..and no, they didn't claom.to be all out, or offer any alternative. So that's just an outright lie. Room: There's no closet to hang clothes. The fireplace is just a picture. There are NO ELEVATORS! Good luck lugging your bags up 3 storeys. No employees will carry it for you. Also, the stairs are not in one place. Going 3rd to 2nd storey is one set, then you must walk down a hall for other steps from 2nd to 1st floor. You won't need any gym time after staying there! Parts of railings are missing and I have a strong feeling it's illegal and besides, definitely unsafe, especially if you're over 50. You can see from the walkways that the right side of the bldg. is several inches higher than left side. It obviously has been damaged in earthquakes, or is built on a sand dune. There was mildew in the shower and the room smelled musty. There are only see-thru curtains so be prepared to wake up at 5:30 a.m. with the sun...even if there's morning fog. It's obvious they've assembled bits and pieces of leftover or broken furniture, so it looks junky and they want you to think that's "eclectic". There was bird crap on the outdoor patio. Not recent..dried onto railing and floor. They have pie, water, and popcorn free at certain times. Wow, a $10 freebie! They also supposedly have free bike rentals..we didn't check. The only plus is parking spaces under the rooms, supposed to be for customers only, and if you pay the ridiculous price for ocean view room, the ocean waves (plus going up and down and up and down and up and down stairs) will put you to sleep right away. Then as you leave, remind yourself not to ever stay there again. For 2 nights cost, you could fly cross-country!

But the pastries are the BEST. This is a ham and cheese croissant. They also have fresh made quiche, scones, chocolate croissants and almond croissants. Linn's Cobbler and ice cream in the evening. Such charming atmosphere, I'm still here and I can't wait to come back

The room accommodations were nice! Our view was stupendous of the waves crashing onto the beach- the breakfast on the sun deck on 4th floor was delicious and real espresso coffee drinks! Just lovely. Note: this building does not have an elevator- steps are used to access each floor.

My husband and I spent a week here for our honeymoon and it was a wonderful experience! We had the Island Retreat Suite and it was decorated nicely and had a jacuzzi tub in the room! When you book with them, you are not just getting a room-- you are also getting fresh coffee, croissants, or quiches each morning on a rooftop overlooking the beach, pie and ice cream each night, free popsicles, bicycles to borrow to ride around town, and more! All of these are included with your room. It's in a convenient spot, right on the beach and near many little shops. It is also only a 5 minute drive from the Sycamore Hot Springs if you want to get a massage while on vacation. My husband and I plan on staying here each year for our anniversary. It was a great trip and I highly reconnect this Inn! :)

This place is amazing on so many levels that reviewing it may be a sin for those that know about this hidden gem. Starting from the rooms, they have really invested in the creature comforts like the shower, hot tubs in many if the rooms and the reuse if wood and stone for door and wall coverings. The beds, are simply awesome, so much that you need a step stool to get in them. And I'm 6'5". The crown jewel is thier balcony terrace that overlooks the bay, which is breathtaking. But even better is the breakfast service, by far the best eggs I have ever had in my life This is the kind of place you build a vacation around.

This is a 6 star experience and setting in a 2.5 star accommodation. They are doing everything right here, and then some. Before you judge on the shortcomings, and there are several to be fair, realize that the pluses far outweigh the minuses at this quirky beach-kitchy motel resort. Let's get the minuses out of the way but promise yourself you'll read through to the end lest you pass up one of the best opportunities in the SLO area. The building is old, the stairs steep and a bit treacherous for the mobility challenged and others. There are no elevators. The windows of the non beach view units for some odd reason are at the door side facing into the parking and other units. This not only sacrifices privacy but makes for some poor air circulation and no views unless you want to watch your neighbor park , bathe or undress. The entrance to the rooms are a wooden suspended balcony that is sagging and a bit concerning. Yet, there's a rail . There is no AC but there is a fairly inadequate ceiling fan. I was here in high 70s. The rooms got very hot. The smallish basic cable TV takes a manual to turn on and off and there isn't one. There is very low light and the drawers and doors require a small fight to operate each time. The flat hard pillows need upgrading. This time, the restaurant was closed. Thats it .. thats the price you pay for one of the best and most relaxing experiences in the area. This place was outstanding on every level beyond the aforementioned. Seriously. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They made for a personal welcoming experience that will make you feel like family. Hortensia and Evan in particular were so hospitable that i felt pampered. They carried my luggage up to my room, helped me get settled in and answered all of my questions. They know who their guests are and what you need before you ask. There are so many valuable perks that I hope I don't miss any. The rooftop of this hotel is a well appointed patio sun deck with views from everywhere, comfy fire pits , cushy chairs, bistro table and bar seating overlooking the ocean, a bbq grill ( they will supply tools) and a breakfast/ coffee bar that serves included handmade coffee drinks, fresh baked pastries and scrambles each morning. The breakfast is delicious and welcoming. The sundeck is where you want to hang out if not in an experience oceanfront room, at the beach or wine shops or trails. We'll get there. The rooftop is open until 930 pm. There is beer and wine for purchase in the lobby, practically next door at the merchantile, or one of the local wine tasting venues. The beach is literally out the front door. You have parking included with your stay at the hotel. You will need to supply your vehicle info as this is monitored prime parking real estate. The hotel supplies guests with beach chairs, umbrellas and toys and cleans these after each use. Along the beach is a trail. The hotel also provides beach cruisers to its guests for trail riding or exploring . Each night, in the lobby, guests enjoy fresh baked pie and ice cream. There are also ice cream bars and sandwiches, coffee/ tea and popcorn available as desired for guests. The guests during my stay were friendly and mellow. Apparently the attached beachfront restaurant is the bomb.com but was not open during my stay d/t remodeling. There are plenty of other options within walking distance , as well as more in SLO and Pismo. Yes, the facilities are old, but they do a great job of making an interesting enjoyable theme of antiques, original flooring, quality kitsch and artsy touches throughout. The entrance balconies are decked out with framed art, plants at each doorway and all around the rails and stairway landings. Its as if you are old world European neighbors ;-). The staff here goes above and beyond to make this a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Dont be deterred by the age and condition of the building. Get out and enjoy Avila and your sun deck.

The lady said they were renovating half of the hotel where that room is, but they have the identical room on the opposite side of the hotel. So of course I booked it. When checking when we arrived they told us that they had to move us to a room that had two queen beds instead of a king bed. The lady said there's no guarantees of a room and nobody noted that information. So unfortunately, we were moved to a lower level not as nice of a view. Unless you're into watching people walk by your room in the parking lot. This hotel has always accommodated in the past, and this was very disappointing. She also said there has been a wedding booked here sooo my guess is somebody from the wedding party wanted that king bed and balcony and moved us to the lower level? The private hot tub was already filled and heated upon arrival, which was a nice touch. There were plenty of towels, a refrigerator in the room, and a large, comfortable couch with a sitting area that was perfect for enjoying breakfast. Unfortunately, the service did not match the price point. At nearly $600 per night, I expected a much higher level of hospitality. Room service took over two hours to arrive, despite placing the order an hour in advance specifically to avoid delays. To their credit, the staff comped the meal, which was a gracious gesture, but I would have preferred receiving the food on time. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of personalized service. For a resort charging premium rates, I expected touches such as evening turndown service, robes and slippers prepared by the bed, or other details that make a luxury stay feel special. None of that was offered. At $600 per night. I would've rather spent my money at The Four Seasons four seasons or the Peninsula hotel. At least at those premium hotels we actually get the service we pay for. The check-in experience was also unpleasant. The front desk staff came across as overly rigid and unwelcoming, which set the wrong tone from the start. This was my second time giving this resort a chance, and unfortunately, I regret doing so. While the accommodations themselves are very nice, the service falls far short of what should be expected at this price level

First off, this is by far the most beautiful concert venue I've ever been to. Nestled between palm trees, the stage basically has the ocean as a backdrop, and you can enjoy the California sunshine at the Cove. For most concerts, you're invited to bring your lawn chair and enjoy the concerts in a relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately, not all visitors stick to the "low back chairs only" rule, and sometimes we're stuck behind people with larger chairs. However, it's very easy to move around, go to the front of the stage for dancing, and find the perfect spot for you. You can also opt to pay for the VIP experience to sit on the balcony of the club house which gives you prime views (we haven't tried this option yet). On several occasions, we've brought the kids, and they're welcome here, have the ability to run around and are not restricted to sit still like at other venues. The owners have recently introduced free parking, which is great. There's plenty of parking at the golf course, you may expect delays coming in and out though, because there's only one lane. The check-in lane of concert visitors can also be long, usually moves rather quick though. I guess it's because people being their chairs and blankets, so there's more equipment to check for the security staff. Once inside, you can purchase drinks (incl. beer, wine and cocktails) inside. A little overpriced, they also usually have various food trucks offering a variety of food for regular prices of about $9-$16 for your order. I highly recommend coming here for a relaxed show, or to enjoy the food truck brunch.

Not on the beach and no ocean view. Very close to Avila Beach, Avila Valley Barn, and close to Pismo Beach. About 22 miles from Morro Bay. Sites are level gravel, w/ a picnic table. Some have a concrete pad, chairs, umbrella, BBQ, and propane fire pit, and enclosed pet yard. 5 ft. wooden fencing between sites provides a bit of privacy. Facility is clean, well kept. Staff are polite, helpful. Sites reasonable size, we had plenty of room in a back in and pull thru. Many amenities families might enjoy. A drawback is road noise. Facility backs up directly to the 101. You will hear vehicles, sirens, etc. It didn't really bother us for an overnight stay. Would stay here again.

We rented a premium site with a dog relief area which was very nice, as shown in my photo. We were right near the front of the park though, so traffic was very heavy and our dogs were consistently entertained by the people walking by our site. There are also small cabins for rent in the park and our site butted right up next to one. It was WAY too close IMO because their windows went directly into our site. Kinda awkward. This park was very busy since we stayed over the weekend and was full of people who were attending a nearby baseball tournament. That meant a lot of kids and some with no supervision. One night I had to go outside to ask kids to stop running through our site because it was well past the quiet hours and disturbing our dogs. I didn't notice any park employee enforcing rules so that was kind of a bummer. The store onsite was very nice and our kids took advantage of the game room, namely pool and the ping pong table. Overall we would stay here again, but request a site that was near the back of the park and maybe off to the side to avoid so much traffic.
