    Cigarette burns in duvet
    Tristan P.

Utterly disgusting. Thick cigarette stench. Cigarette burns and holes in duvet and sheets. Bugs in the shower. Toilet and shower barely functioning. Filthy bedding. Front-desk person immediately went to sleep after we checked in around 1 AM and wouldn't answer the office door when I went to confront management about the state of the room. Left first thing in the morning. Please avoid. Wyndham was a great alternative for the next night.

Can't keep the toilet clean :(

So full disclosure. I didn't stay the whole night. I actually did spend 15 minutes in the room and I couldn't stomach it. My husband and I did find another hotel room somewhere else and just ate the cost because this room was unacceptable. I think my pictures will explain why I felt so uncomfortable there. What was a romantic weekend away really became a momentary nightmare because we thought we would have to go home (rather than stay in this room). But luckily I found a decent rate room at a nearby Marriott fast. Do yourselves a favor and avoid at all costs. Years ago this used to be a nicer property that was well maintained and sort of an oasis in the dilapidated area. Now it's just a hole in a rough part of town.

    Prints on the bed

Please avoid this place. Our beds had make up on it. Dirty foot prints. There was blood drops on the sink. No control for The television, and when they brought it to the room, the television didn't work. Looking out the window to the pool area, there were 12-15 abandoned refrigerators just sitting there. The pool was dirty also. When we attempted to check out the lobby door was locked. We had to call the phone number posted outside the gate and ask how do I check out or leave the key.

WHY WE WENT HERE: - came on my radar through the app/site Hotel Tonight and scored a room for $80 THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - we LOVED the gate access - the gate to enter the property gives you Secret Garden vibes; very tall gate and fence that also has greenery to ensure privacy - love that the rooms don't have numbers, but are indicated via alphabetical letters - it felt like it's own secret boutique area super different and separate from the surrounding area - we liked how the parking lot is set up to be one-way; one gate to enter and one gate to exit; helps with flow of traffic so you're not blocking anyone's way - it's VERY well-lit at night and the overhanging lights make you feel like you're in a pinterest backyard on a nice summer night THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - the lobby is adorable and so is the room; very charming - we love how the room key looks like a house key with a key-chain that indicates the room letter you're assigned to (which is how Hotel Tonight works; you get a great deal to book a room but the hotel decides what type of room you end up in) - the doors give a very vintage yet modern vibe; they're steel-looking Dutch doors (where the top half can swing open) - everything looks and smells clean (the cleaner used in the room was pleasant and not overpowering) - the room itself feels more like a studio apartment than a hotel room; the setting of the bed, the overhead light fixture, separate door into the bathroom, and a mini room for the kitchenette CUSTOMER SERVICE: - SO kind - SO pleasant - VERY warm and welcoming - we were cutting it close to check out and they gave us a courtesy phone call in the room phone to gently remind us that check out is at 11AM; we made it at the cut-off time and dropped the key in the drop-box inthe lobby at 11AM if not 1-2 minutes afterwards CONS: - the SO and I felt that the door leading into the room was difficult to ensure that it was closed/locked - the bathroom is VERY tiny and not as updated as the room itself (the shower floor looked a bit dirty/stained) - the hardwood floors are VERY nice but VERY slippery; thankfully we brought our own house slippers that helped with traction while inside the room because we almost slipped and fell numerous times - because the bathroom is super tiny (you can't fully open the door because it bangs into the corner of the shower towel; there's actually some towel that's taped to the wall so opening the door into the bathroom doesn't damage the exterior shower tile) there are no towel racks - the bath towels are pretty small

What a find! I was visiting SAC with some friends and one of them found this gem of a place. We had no clue as to the history of the neighborhood, but found out later it has a bad rep. This is a neighborhood in transition. It is transitioning in a good direction. I think the addition of the Greens Hotel is a very positive factor in that revitalization. I felt safe in the neighborhood and very safe in the hotel. Normally this hotel would earn a four star rating. It was comfy and clean and had great free wifi. What brought it over the top was the customer service and the amenities and small touches that made it outstanding. Upon checking in, we were informed that they overbooked and that the King room we reserved was not available. Oh NO! Then she smiled and said, "If it is ok with you we can upgrade you to our king suite if that would be acceptable." Oh YES! We got a HUGE room with a kitchen, living room and bedroom. OK. We are now party central for our group from Reno. The room was funky urban edgy with one of the most comfortable, luxurious beds I have ever slept in. The towels where soft and fluffy and the bathroom, while old, was clean. There is lots of outside seating to sit and visit. They provide wine glasses in the lobby, have a Kureg coffee maker in the room, a fridge for chilling wine, and lots of convenient outlets for electronics. So don't let the reputation of the neighborhood scare you away. Solid doors, secure window grates, and completely secure grounds make you feel safely tucked away. Best sleep I have had in years. I highly recommend this as a reasonable, clean, safe place to stay in Sacramento.

I'm not getting the real negative reviews. The neighborhood is older but looks like it is undergoing revitalization- cool area coffee shop, brewery and other small shops. Possibly the next Midtown ? On arrival were greeted with a smile at the lobby. Check in was quick and easy. We went to our room as they were just finishing the cleaning. I liked the grey tones and decor style- simple and clean. The beds were comfy. Water in the shower took a minute to heat up, but temp and pressure were good. Although there are no towel racks to hang towels up after use. If the motel is fully occupied, anyone coming in after 10 pm might not get parking. But there were plenty of spaces in the street. You need to ask for a hair dryer in the lobby, as they aren't just left in the rooms. Kuregs are in each room. My only negative- is the pool opens at 8 am. And on a Saturday morning at 8 three teenage girls thought it would be cool to use. Not cool if your room over looks the pool. Advise to ask for room not overlooking the pool if you plan to be out late the night before and want to sleep in. Over all- I liked it. And would use again. Don't forget to check in on Yelp for possible room upgrade.

Few Yelpers already mentioned about this already, but the Greens Hotel is technically a motel. With that being said, this is one of the better motels that I have stayed in and the location is pretty convenient (about 10 minutes away from downtown). The entire motel is gated and you will have to call the number posted on the front gate in order to get in - don't worry someone will always be there 24/7. The exit gate will open automatically when you are about to drive out. I booked a classic room for $112.5 per night and I actually checked-in at 10:30 PM. There are 26 rooms and each room is named from A to Z. Interestingly enough I got room L which just happen to coincide with my initial haha (or maybe the staff did this intentionally). This boutique motel does not offer complimentary breakfast and you will have to pay $25 for lost key. The staff gave me a Wi-Fi password and unfortunately their Wi-Fi network wasn't working during my two-night stay. The room had a small TV, a comfortable bed, and a working A/C. Their shower head had high water pressure and hot water was actually hot. Overall I had a pretty positive experience and the Greens Hotel has all of basic needs that you can find in any hotels.

I am giving this review only 2 stars because of our experience with an employee. The hotel itself is great. The Greens is a sweet little gem in Sacramento. We stayed a night here to celebrate our anniversary, & just wanted a nice place to get away. The hotel is beautifully decorated as a tribute to midcentury modern design. There are string lights over the parking lot & plant decor all around the perimeter. The best part is that the hotel is completely gated off--there are privacy hedges & a huge gate blocking the premises from the outside world. It's like its own vintage oasis in the city, which made it very romantic. The king room was beautiful! We loved the chandelier & the bed headboard. It was minimal, but all of the necessities were styled well. The bathroom was the only place of issue. The tile in the bathroom was grey in some areas, which made the shower less appealing. I'm not sure if that's part of the design, or if the floor was dirty. Either way, I didn't want to walk in to the bathroom barefoot. The major problem with our stay: We booked on Booking.com & requested a late check-out of 1pm. We received confirmation of our request from the front office. When I checked into our room, the front desk said that the late check-out was approved. We would NOT have to leave at 11am. Fast forward to the next morning. We're sleeping in & at 11:15am the morning front desk clerk pounds on our door. Wakes us up, tells us we have to leave or he's going to charge us. He wouldn't leave until my wife agreed to pack up. Not only was it incredibly disrespectful, but it disturbed our privacy & woke us up when we specifically asked to rest in. I didn't get the gentleman's info, but it was not fun. The front desk needs to communicate better.

Appearances are definitely deceiving. DO NOT STAY HERE! The bad reviews for this hotel are definitely the correct ones. We booked this hotel on 1/4/2019 for a quick stay and as we arrived we immediately noticed the horrible and shady area it is in. Once inside the room, it has a mixture of new furniture with very disgusting furniture that looks like it was taken from a hooker hotel. The truth, I think this was a hooker hotel and it was given a fresh coat of paint with a couple new things, but the nasty place it was underneath is still very present not only in the area but in the hotel. There is a reason why owner does not respond to bad reviews.

Light switch and electric plug in the shower. No shower curtain.

I woke up with 2 very sore fingers on my right hand. I reported to desk (only 1 staff working solo). She did give me an ice pack and a wrap. She did apologize. She asked me what she could do. That's odd to me, I've been in customer service over 45 years, I never asked a customer "what can I do?" for bad service or experience s...just make it better. I told her have someone go remove the nightstand so the next guest doesn't get injured. I went back to room to record how severely unbalanced the table was. A HK Supv (Myneli) was very kind but also unsure came by, I told her take it out PLEASE. It's a handicap room to make it easier for those of us with disabilities, not to make it unsafe or uncomfortable! She removed it as I requested. The front desk agent, said she was going to make an incident report and a manager would contact me, I never heard from anyone. That was 5 days ago. The front desk agent said she would put some points on my honors account, never happened. I also reported that I left my breakfast passes on the same dresser I placed the tip (not 2gether) the tip and passes were gone. The front desk did replace them, thank you. I also chose this location because it had an outside hot tub near the pool but was disappointed to see CAUTION tape like a crime scene. No access. PLEASE update repairs so we have accurate info when booking! I opted for a hot bath (dirty tub, I had to clean. See photos) There was also long hairs on the soap & shampoo bottles. I always travel with clorox wipes BUT why do we have to spend so much money and still have to sanitize a room? I still leave a cash tip daily because im sure they work hard & are most likely low wages. It's the right thing to do. Lastly the decor in the room was off. Only 2 small pictures and no full length mirror nor suitcase stand. I reactivated my Marriot account, I don't know if I will continue on with Hilton.... Update Manager? Luis Robles gave "stock" reply in Trip adviser...wow Hey Luis, you should ACTUALLY READ the reviews, some things require sincere attention not "copy & paste" reply....

Gorgeous property, top notch service, comfortable room and 5 star amenities!…read more We spent a considerable amount of time by the pool and the area was clean and relaxing. Brittany was the server bringing our drinks and she was the best --thank you!!! Later we had dinner at Scott's and had an incredible dinner (crab legs, filet, lobster, mash!). Sadly I can't recall our servers name but she was so, so awesome --- and she's friends with Brittany who was also there at the restaurant. My friend and I met up and were celebrating our birthdays, and they were so kind to treat us to dessert! Can't wait to go back!

I really liked this hotel, but ultimately left feeling disappointed…read more There were several things I appreciated. The tall ceilings and quiet rooms--thanks to excellent insulation--made the stay very comfortable. I also liked the different water options available near the front desk, especially since the bottled water in the rooms cost $10 each. The music in the pool area created a great atmosphere, and the jacuzzi was a nice size and very enjoyable. However, the main issue was the mandatory valet fee--even when not using valet service. This makes no sense and feels unreasonable. If arriving by Uber or not bringing a car, there is no justification for being charged valet. The website does not clearly state that valet is mandatory, and there was no prior notice when booking. At check-in, staff simply said, "We have to charge it anyway," regardless of whether the service was used. The fee is also quite high at $52 per night, which adds up quickly for a service not utilized. According to previous reviews, valet fees have increased significantly over the past three years. I would not stay at this Westin Hotels & Resorts location again. The accumulation of mandatory fees makes the experience feel transactional rather than guest-focused. I would much rather voluntarily tip valet staff when I actually use and appreciate their service, rather than be required to pay a substantial fee regardless of need. Overall, while the hotel has many appealing qualities, the mandatory valet charge without clear disclosure or usage was a major drawback.

I arrived late in the evening, and when I got into my room, the AC was not working. The front desk was able to switch my room for me with little trouble. The rooms are spacoius and clean. The AC is quiet and feels great. The beds are decently comfortable. The rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is a pool at the hotel and a work out room, but I didn't use either. There is also a conference/office space downstairs. I didn't use that either, but I frequently saw people in there. The morning breakfast was great. There were different options every day, and there a great variety of foods and drinks. It was well maintained and well stocked by a friendly gentleman. They have fresh coffee, tea, lemon ice water, and a variety of juices. Everyday they have cereal, oatmeal, hard bioled eggs, yogurt, bagels, toast, muffins, and fresh fruit. They have a waffle making station with plenty of topping options. They also have a small buffet style breakfast station with some kind of eggs (like scrambled and mini omelets), breakfast meats (like bacon and sausages), and different types of country potatoes. It was delicious and a great way to start my day. Location wise, the hotel doesn't look like it is in the greatest location, but it is faily quiet inside the rooms. It is also very close to Sac State which is great. It is within walking distance to the college. I would absolutely stay here again.

When I saw there was one within the area we were shopping, I knew I had to book it. Made the reservation and decided to see if all possible to check in early. (It wasn't by much) Swasy is the one who greeted me, asked how I was doing and overall made me feel welcomed. She explained the amenities and just by scanning the area, I could tell this was a nice place. As we were making our way up the room, Maria from housekeeping greeted us and let us know if we need anything, please let us know. Arrived at our floor and you can tell how comfy and inviting the bed is. Woke up and decided to take advantage of the gym at 5am. Greeted by Seth as I was helping myself to coffee. There were some items ready in which he added to help myself. As I thanked him, he reminded me breakfast will start at 7am and provided me what was on the menu. Made it to breakfast with Cecilia who works the area. I briefly met her along with Madison when I first checked in. Breakfast was fresh and flavorful Checking out I was greeted by Madison who I recognized yesterday when I checked in. Told her shes pulling a double in which she giggled and has such an infectious smile. Overall I am very satisfied with the awesome customer service especially the attentiveness and acknowledgement. Highly recommend
