My rental is my only source of income so when the cleaners were late or things were broken and not fixed because I was not notified, guests would not have the best experience. I even caught one group of Mexican cleaners putting sheets just in dryer and not even washing them! That's when I started doing all the laundry myself! Unfortunately, some circumstances in my life caused me to not be able to actively manage the rental as I use to. I was in dire need of people who could do more, get the job done, and communicate with me and let me know they hear me when I communicate with them. Finding Vacation rental assistance was a complete miracle for me. Not only are they on top of the cleaning, (and all linens are provided by them and taken off sight for professional laundering) but many smaller maintenance issues as well and making sure the hot tub is cleaned and serviced between every set of guests. Their pricing is extremely fair, and I believe they earn it by keeping me informed of anything needed so I'm consistently receiving 5 star reviews from my guests. Which results in more bookings! I get pictures of any issues noticed after a guest leaves, which takes away a lot of stress! When they heard my beloved dog died, I even received flowers and a card. That's special. The professionalism via pre and post inspection reports, and ability to have a 24 hour on call handy man if you choose really makes owning a vacation rental much less stressful. Thanks to VRA I'm able to focus on my own healing and do more of giving back to my community. They are the most thorough, polite, professional, fair, people I've met in this industry, and I'm really so grateful for their whole team from the top down.

    If you're expecting what is posted on their website, you will be disappointed. We were a bit…read moreconcerned upon our arrival as the place looked deserted. No host present at any time during our stay and no other guests (not counting the man who came and went at odd hours). The cottage could use some upkeep and a good cleaning...multiple lights burnt out, shower glass was extremely dirty, one wash cloth for two guests, soap dispensers all empty. One bedroom TV didn't work, dishwasher was hard to open due the bottom cabinet trim being out of place. On the second day I notified the management company that a bear had been through the property leaving debris scattered throughout. The reply was I'll come by tomorrow and clean it up. The debris was still there when we left two days later. On the second night we noticed a man arrive late and go into a cottage, he left early the next day. He arrived again around 11pm on the third night, blasting an air horn outside our bedroom window in an attempt to scare the bears (Mom and cub) away from his car. Again, I called the management company who stated no staff or guests other than us were present. No concern on their part, "What do you want me to do?". I got a lecture on bears even though I shared that I had owned a home in Tahoma for many years, I am very familiar with bear behavior. And although my car was damaged by the bears, the bears weren't the issue. I received a survey several days after returning home and recounted our experience and disappointment in what should have been a very pleasant stay. At the end of the survey I was prompted to request a call regarding my experience, responding yes. Never heard from anyone.

    Just to clarify, everything stated here is true and accurate. It is not defaming to share a factual…read moreaccount of events. It is also not morally right to take one person's money and then take another person's money on top of that. Sometimes fairness has to take precedence over policy. There should be a good faith effort to make things fair for all renters. The unfairness of what happened to us was very disappointing -- renter beware. The timeline is as follows: the reservation was booked on January 31 and my son cancelled on February 21 -- not March 12 as stated. The stay is still several months away. We contacted Airbnb and they are currently reaching out to the host to review the situation. Unfortunately, my son was also blocked from contacting the host after the cancellation, which made it difficult to discuss any possible solutions directly. Our intention in leaving a review was simply to share our experience so others are aware of the cancellation policy before booking. The host also claimed that I threatened to write a review, which is not true -- I only wanted to let people know about the unfairness of this business practice.

Before checking in, I sent him multiple messages, and he was always quick to respond. The home was more beautiful than advertised. The part that stands out about Chris is how clear and easy everything was. From check in to check out, every time my family asked me a question, I didn't have to message him or call him, I just looked in the binder that he left for us or I just checked my booking and all answers were there! A day after we left, we realized that we left something behind. I messaged Chris, and the professionalism of how he addressed this situation was phenomenal! My exact words after my experience with TAP were "I don't know how to give more than a 5 star review!" If you're staying anywhere near Lake Tahoe, look up Tahoe Alpenglow properties, you can thank me later.
