A friend of mine recommended this place. We knew we were coming during an important event so it would be pricey but turns out the prices were okay. We were initially told that there was no one on site so any information could be relayed through either the phone number or a call system at the front door or at the desk. They definitely have it set up pretty well for this remote communication. I guess they really need to be saving money and labor these days since they manage a few different other properties. We were given the digital key to check in the day we arrived in new orleans. We're actually able to check in early as well which was super nice. The digital key worked pretty fine after we download the app. Overall the room was very nice and cutely decorated. It was a bit small but this is prime real estate here. The bathroom is also very updated and had everything we need! Some peeling paint on the shower and some pretty bad dust on top of the wardrobe but other than that everything was pretty clean. The coffee bar downstairs was always stocked and I had to get a hold of people a couple times and it was very easy to do so through text message. There's a nice little courtyard on the first floor with good sitting although it is next to a very loud air conditioner. I definitely would return here but I'm also curious how the other properties are as well. You are really close to most of what's going on in the French quarter. Bourbon Street is just a few blocks away. Although you are less than a block from rampart Street which is the Western end of the French quarter. But there's plenty of local buses to catch here to get down to the garden district which I would definitely recommend the buses over the streetcar since they are air conditioned. We stayed here over the weekend. It was a cute old place but a few hiccups, I couldn't get the coffee maker to work, the bed and pillows were not that comfy, there was random glitter all over the room, and we couldn't control the air conditioning. The people that come back after the clubs congregate outside on the patio and keep you up to the wee hours of the morning. We did enjoy the digital key even though it took us a minute to figure out how to use it. For the price it is what you would expect. The last night we booked a room at the Roosevelt and slept great and just ate the cost of the room we already paid for at the Inn on St. Ann for that night. read more

Pros: Good location. A main entry point into the Quarter. Right off N. Rampart which is mostly a convenience but can get congested at busy times. Positions you directly into the LGBTQ+ which is known for its friendly, mostly passive atmosphere with good bars and excellent bartenders. Cons: was given a hard key (not standard procedure.) The key stopped working late in the night. The next receptionist informed me she could not replace or make another. I was effectively remanded to my room being forced with the decision to either miss work and numerous responsibilities in order to have roof over my head. I was ultimately comped a room for the next night, (keep in mind rooms get comped for a broken television remote.) Great place otherwise. maybe it won't happen to you! No, I won't be back. read more

Here for the Chicago Bears game for the weekend with the hubby. We love NOLA and this is one of our favorite places to stay. It is located in the French quarters. It is about two blocks away from bourbon street. Perfect for us because it's close enough to Bourbon Street so we can walk there but also far away so we can't hear any of the noise. The hotel itself has a lot of charm to it. There are hardwood floors in the rooms. As far as amenities there is a coffee maker a Keurig. There is no closet with but they do have an armoire To our delightful surprise Dewayne was still working here. He not only walked us to our room he also showed us where we can get a foam cooler to put ice and drinks in because we did not have a mini refrigerator in our room. All in all we had a good experience and our stay was great and we also want to thank Carlette. Thank you for everything. read more

Good location, at the north edge of the French Quarter. Clean sheets, towels, bathroom. Excellent king bed. My issue is with the safety of this very old building -- there is no external staircase to use in case of fire or other emergencies. Our room was on the second floor, with a narrow balcony porch; as I peered down into the yard below, I realized that should we need to escape in case of fire or other emergencies, we would have no choice except to jump! Made me uneasy. I wonder why the city's hotel inspectors gave this building a pass. Which insurance companies would agree to take on a structure with no fire escape accommodations? I would appreciate a reply from the management with an explanation of why there are not adequate safety measures (a fire extinguisher mounted on the exterior wall does not count). read more

I decided to stay here for my birthday in January! I wanted that real Nola vibe, plus it's right across the street from the Louis Armstrong Park and down from Bourbon Street. A very nice and convenient spot within walking distance of everything. I will say if you're expecting a five-star stay, this is not the place for you (one of my GF's was not a fan lol). When we arrived the room was quite dusty and the pull-out couch pillow and sheets had stains (what they were I don't know). The cleaning lady was very apologetic and gave us new sheets, blankets, and pillows that were still packaged. The showers are small and the linen could've been better cleaned. Oh, we stayed in the Christophe Suite. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here because it was close to everything. read more

We got off a cruise at 0800. I had a room booked for the 17th, and the last night of the cruise I booked one for the 16th so we could check in early on the 17th & have a place. We enjoyed our stay at the Inn on St. Ann, and it was definitely worth the rate. It's a great way to enjoy all the action without hearing it all night long. The hotel, which has a fun history, is just a short walk to all the action in the rest of the French Quarter as well Louis Armstrong Park and St. Louis Cemetery No. 1. The area was very quiet since it's located a few blocks off Bourbon Street. Staff was incredibly helpful and personable! We loved theirrecommendations and how they went out of their way to assist us. Keep in mind this is nearly a 200-year old building so some charm and uniqueness comes with it. For example, no elevator; ifs your room is on the third floor, it's a bit of a hike every day. Our room on the third floor was spacious and a bit funky since the window -- which did not open -- were essentially on the floor and about 2 feet high. Don't expect a view if you are on the third floor. Housekeeping was a bit of a challenge,skipping us one day and it was hit or miss if we received wash clothes or coffee each day during our five-day stay.When they did come, cleaning was haphazard Overall, we would stay here again, but rather go for a room that has windows and balcony. read more

First, I will say that Dawayne is awesome because he is so friendly and is willing to provide recommendations about things to do in the area. Also, if he happens to be outside when your cab pulls up the Inn, he will remind you to make sure that you did not leave your wallet or cell phone in the cab. If you are looking for a super fancy spot, then the Inn on St. Ann is not for you because you will only have the basic necessities. Pretty much, the only amenity is the Keurig machine in the lobby. Unfortunately, I do not think many of the pictures on the website are of this place (eg the courtyard). I believe that many of the pictures on the website represent the sister inn (Inn on St. Peters). While the inn is located in the French Quarter, it is not right in the middle of the craziness and confusion of Bourbon St. In terms of walking, the inn is about 5 min from Bourbon St, 10-15 min from Jackson Sq, and 30 min from the Convention Center. During our trip, I do not recall having to order a cab/Uber/Lyft except for commuting to and from the airport. Although there were not a lot of people on the street at night, I did not have any issues with feeling unsafe. Note I: I stayed at the inn for about 4 nights in early February (a few weeks before Mardi Gras) so that might explain why there were not a lot of people out and about. Note II: I brought up safety because I used to live in NOLA back in the late 90s/early 00s, and crime was no joke. Although the historic inn is pretty rustic, I have to admit that I was a bit surprised that the rooms were not a bit cleaner. Our room was not so bad that we needed to complain (or even worse, switch inns/hotels), but the premises could use a little TLC. For example, the ceiling fan in the room had not been dusted in quite some time. Also, it was quite evident that the bottom of the toilet commode was not a part of the daily cleaning checklist. I promise that I was not inspecting the toilet - my wedding band rolled behind the toilet. That said, the bed, sheets, and towels were pretty clean, and the room overall was fine. I would recommend the Inn on St. Ann to folks who need a room for a few hours per day/night (ie primarily for sleeping and showering). read more

This is our second visit to the Inn on St Ann and our third to their corporate properties (the same company owns multiple guest houses in the French Quarter). We've always had very pleasant experiences at a very reasonable price. Speaking specifically to this trip, we arrived by Uber on a Thursday afternoon and Dwayne checked us in. He was wonderful. Got all our business taken care of in a very prompt manner and actively engaged in conversation about what we wanted to do while we were in New Orleans. As such, he then provided written recommendations and not a one of them disappointed. Our room was at the building across the street from the check-in desk and Dwayne walked us over there personally to make sure everything was in order, which it was. The bed was comfortable, there was an in-room Keurig and the toiletries provided were top-notch. What more could you ask for in New Orleans? You're not there to sit in the room. In the main building, they have a refreshment station and an ice machine near the front desk. We will continue to seek out this company's hotels when visiting New Orleans. read more

I booked a two night stay through Expedia for the French quarter experience. Since we didn't have a car, I wanted walkability too! Unfortunately, we came off the cruise ship sick and my son was running a fever in 96* weather. I called begging for an early check in or a cool place To sit so my boy could sleep and fight his fever. The woman on the phone said we could sit somewhere. Upon arrival, she let us check in early and it was a true blessing. My son went straight to sleep and slept for 18 hours. Clyde worked overnight and was great with the recommendation for local spot around the corner for a quick bite and hydration options. The room was the shelter we needed. Super high ceilings, and architecture. The air conditioning thermostat wasn't able to be adjusted so the cold air blew directly on us from the ceiling - not my preference as it dried out my sinuses. There were no windows in our room so it was dark. The bathroom was remodeled. There was an overwhelming smell of lemon cleaner. For where it is and being a historical landmark, I'm sure the property has been through many weathered storms but it was the hospitality that really made our stay helpful in a moment of panic where all I needed was safety for my toddler. The air conditioner in room 81 is broken. No parking on site. You have to walk a mile and park in the community parking and either use app on phone or pay the parking box before you leave your car. No elevator, narrow staircase. I was cool with every thing about this boutique inn. But once I couldn't get the air to work, I WAS DONE. My room was hot and humid. I had to wet a towel and drape it over my body to keep cool. By morning I got my Shee et and bounced. I will never stay there again and I will never recommend. And don't ask why didn't you get another room. They knew the 3rd floor air doesn't work. Get outta here. I cannot be the first and besides no one available to tell. read more

The location is perfect, right off north rampart and across the street from Armstrong park. It's close to everything without all the chaos of the quarter. My room was facing the beautiful courtyard and I did not have any noise issues! The room was small, but perfect for me since I was solo traveling. The bathroom was really lovely and clean. Perfect location in New Orleans. Close enough to the craziness of bourbon street but far enough to get a peaceful nights sleep. The pros: An antique charm with modern bathrooms. And ... Location!!!! We were on the third floor in a corner room so we didn't hear any noise that other travelers complained about. The room was a king size bed and was spacious enough. Has an ironing board and iron with a blow dryer. Modern bathroom that was clean. We had a ductless air conditioner in our room which was quiet and cooled down the room to a nice temperature. My in laws that stayed in the same hotel had a noisier window unit. Just as a heads up in case you prefer a hotel with central air. The cons: upon arriving to our room there were a couple of dirty tissues next to the bed and one on the bed, as well as a splatter (I'm guessing from someone's drink) along the way next to the bed. It didn't leave a good taste in my mouth so I politely addressed the concerns to Duane, and he very quickly had the room cleaned for us and the sheets changed. They also comped us a night for the inconvenience. He was super sweet and accommodating for the duration of our stay. There is no elevator, so if you have a disability ask to stay on the first floor. The verdict? We would consider staying here again if we can inspect the cleanliness of the room before completely booking. read more

We stayed in one of the first floor rooms and it was great! The room was very spacious, had plenty of storage, and everything was very clean. The inn had a very New Orleans niche vibe to it, and it was so close to everything! We were able to get to all corners of the French quarter within 15 minutes, with bourbon street and Jackson square being less than 10 minute walk. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming too. We were offered a room at the Inn on St Ann when our room at the Lamothe House didn't work out and I am so glad we took them up on their offer. From the moment we met Dwayne at check in we knew we were in the right place. Dwayne is a charming host who will make you feel welcome. We tried one of his restaurant recommendations, Oceana, and the delicious crab cakes were some of the best I've ever had! The Inn is located in a charming historic building in a great location near Armstrong Park and within walking distance of Frenchmen Street, Marigny and the Quarter. Our room was small, yet comfortable, overlooking a lovely courtyard. My only recommendations would be to add a shelf or small table in the bathroom for toiletries, a longer cord for the room phone, so guests can move it to use the night table, a small refrigerator for the room and a guest microwave in the common area. read more

CAUTION!!! VERY SLIPPERY BATHTUBS! I can't express this enough. My wife fell in the shower the first night hurting her side. Please be careful. A lot of other reviewers (before mine) are fairly accurate about the Inn on St. Ann. We also came here at a discount (Amazon Local - $249 for 3 nights; about $34 for taxes when we arrived = about $300 total). Knowing what we know now; I'd recommend flying into New Orleans and taking a taxi to this hotel instead of driving in. The hotel discount is fairly nice until you realize that you have to pay about $20 a day (CASH) to park overnight at the closest parking garage that offers this service. I wouldn't have minded paying for the parking so much if it wasn't for the walk (See the pic of the map I uploaded to see what I'm talking about. ~~Sorry, I called it a parking lot instead of parking garage on the picture~~ ). It's 6 BLOCKS from the hotel. And this is not the nicest part of the neighborhood that we're talking about either. There are homeless people strolling around (because the shelter is right across the street on Rampart St.), and there are really no other options but to walk down Rampart St. to get to the hotel with some kind of feeling of safety (since going down other streets will get you into dark, quiet, residential (and probably not advisable) streets unless you walk the 3 blocks down to Bourbon St. first. We realize that we got this hotel at a discount, but it would be nice if they made a deal with a rickshaw / taxi driver and just charged a little more for the room. While the room was nice and clean all 3 nights that we stayed there; the service seemed to degrade each day. First day we had fresh fruit available in the lobby but the next two days the bowl was empty. The first two days we had fresh towels, but the last day we didn't get fresh towels (even though they cleaned the room). And they never threw away our garbage in the garbage can. Oh, even though they sell up their proximity to the Louis Armstrong park; it's not worth it. The park is basically a place for homeless people to sleep / hang out in. We didn't spend too much time in there after a young girl went running across the park being chased by another girl screaming,"SHE'S GOING TO KILL ME!". Also, word of warning about getting to Bourbon St. from this hotel. It's 2 1/2 blocks away through mostly (because there is one open bar on the way) dark residential streets. And (FYI) you will end up in the homosexual section of Bourbon St. first (Intersection of St. Ann & Bourbon St.). We don't have a problem with that lifestyle, but I thought you should be aware of it if you do. Even though the room looked nice, and the staff were friendly; I'm not sure I would recommend this place to my friends / family based most of the other things I just mentioned above (even with the discounted rate). But I hope this review at least informs you about what you're getting. read more

Booked our stay through Travelocity: Once we arrived to the hotel, they directed us to the apartments across the street. The room looked nothing like what was advertised online. Throughout the night we kept hearing strange noises. Our second night we noticed an extremely large cockroach on the ceiling. Freaked my significant other & I out - we checked out early. Also, my wife woke up with what it seemed to be bed bug bites on her leg. I personally did kill a couple small bugs on the bed as well. Not to mention the location we were staying at was directly next to Marie Laveau's house. The WiFi was absolutely terrible, had zero reception. The only good thing about our stay was the location. We were walking distance from pretty much everything. Armstrong Park is also down the street, beautiful park - highly recommend you pay it a visit. read more

Good location by the French Quarter but horrible management. The staff was ok, thought they could had been a little more friendly. The rooms, hallway and hotel looks totally different from the online pictures. When we checked in the room wad smaller small,the bedroom is only 5 feet from the door, we didn't like the room and the front desk called a manager and they upgraded us to a suite. The suite was bigger but the hot water wasn't working just warm water only. The sink keep filling up with water like something was blocking in the sink. After we check in we left to get something to eat,when we came back our keys wasn't working. The last night employee asked us what room was we in and he said u all supposed to leave at 10am. We relied we just checked in the manager moved us to the suite. He just will that was a mistake and the manager will call u in the morning. The next day the manager call us saying we go back to the room we didn't like. We advised him we only stayed because the other manager put us in thus suite. Now we going back and fourth and his is telling us we have to leave that room by Friday then though our reservation is to Saturday. The manager hang up the phone on us and waited 2 hours for him to call back and he didn't. We leave to go on a tour the manager blowing up our phone saying we going to move ur stuff u have to into that room u didn't like. The room was super cold and small so he finally agree to move us into a suite at another hotel. We contact booking.com to inform about the misleading pictures on the website. Booking.com attempted attempted to call the manager he answer the phone and after 30 seconds into the conversation he hung up the phone. Booking.com attempted to call back the phone was busy. Perfect place for someone wanting to visit the French Quarter. Walking distance to everything, 3 mins to bourbon st, 7 mins to Jackson Square, Cafe du Monde and the French markets and Louis Armstrong Park is just across the road. The staff are very friendly and are more than happy to give you advice on places to go and things to do. The rooms are mainly just a bed and bathroom, but with so much to do in the area you only really need somewhere to sleep and shower. It is also very quiet for such a noisy neighborhood. The only drawback was that the walls are very thin and you can hear your neighbors conversations. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and will definitely choose the Inn on st Ann when I return. read more

I have very mixed feelings about the inn. The location was great, it's a super easy walk to pretty much anywhere you want to go within the French Quarter. It was also super nice that the man at the front desk allowed us to check in a bit early since we had driven through the night to get there. The rooms are reasonably priced and pretty nice. However, we were on the ground floor and the staff kind of had no awareness when it came to guests. The front door slams itself closed any time you enter or exit and staff would begin doing that from very early in the morning to late at night. Unfortunately our room was located by the front desk and there would be constant yelling and very loud chatting right outside our room at any given hour. I also really wish the rooms had a mini fridge for waters. It was nice to be located right around the corner from a little store, but drinks would always end up warm because there was nowhere to store them. Our shower also had remnants of the last guests' hair stuck to the walls. But hey, it was a reasonably priced place and we could access bourbon street and other fun spots so it wasn't all bad. Also, there wasn't anyone at the front desk to check out so I just ended up finding one of the women that do housekeeping and handed her my keys. read more

Adorable hotel, super nice staff. We booked this through orbitz as a deal for 1 night before we switched to the Sheraton on Canal for a friend's wedding. Honestly we spent the whole time at the Sheraton wishing we were still here, the atmosphere is so cozy and comfortable, it feels like you're staying at your own place, not some stuffy hotel, and everything was so impeccably clean and well-maintained, it was wonderful. The hotel is perfectly situated near lots of awesome things to go and do, with restaurants, bars, and historical sites just a few steps away, but it's on a nice, quiet side street that keeps it from being a tourist trap, or so loud that sleep is impossible. I will definitely be looking up the Inn on St Ann the next time I come to Nola. read more

On our recent stay to New Orleans we booked the inn on Ann st. Upon arrival they advised us we would actually be staying across the street at The voodoo ladies house. Awesome piece of history that the inn on and it was actually a bordello back in the day. The room was pretty big. Nice and clean. My one concern would be the noise factor I guess that's why there was air plugs in the drawer. Other than that also service awesome room awesome price. read more

A friend of mine was staying at this hotel, and I flew down to join him. When I arrived, I had a difficult time with my cellphone and couldn't reach my friend. I arrived at the Inn and went inside. When I got inside, I was in a clean, lovely hallway, with a beautiful chandelier above, wood flooring, some numbered room doors on my right, and straight ahead st the end of the hall on the right is the reception desk. The man working asked how he could help me, and I told him my friends name and asked if he could let me know which room my friend was in. The man working was SUPER hospitable and friendly, and offered me coffee or water, and said I could have a seat while he located my friend's room. It turned out my friend was staying in their alternate spot across the street, at the location of the former home of the Queen of Voodoo herself, Marie Laveau! My friend met me and we walked across to my friend's room. We unlocked a door between two houses and walked along an alleyway to the back of the house, where there was a beautiful little courtyard. There are a few tables with umbrellas and chairs, with a pretty fountain in the center, and flower plantings around. Lovely. We walked up to our room, which was on the top floor of the house, and it was.... immaculate. Absolutely gorgeous. FAR exceeded our expectations. Large spacious bedroom, large living room area with nice furniture, spacious bathroom with jacuzzi tub plus shower, two sinks. Wood flooring, cathedral beamed ceiling. Just gorgeous. Hope to visit again and stay in the same place, we absolutely loved it! read more

My wife and I are regular travelers and have stayed in almost every hotel/motel around The Quarter. Last night was our first time staying at The Inn on St Ann, and needless to say it will also be the last. Loudest room we have ever stayed in, hands down. And it wasn't outside noise, it was noise inside the lobby, which was right outside our room. We really couldn't get more than a few minutes sleep at a time because every time someone came or went from the lobby we could hear them talking, doors slamming, people on their phone, a girl crying, etc. etc. I would hope that other rooms at this Inn are quieter, but charging people full price to stay in the several rooms that are right off the lobby, is disrespectful to the customer and was very disappointing. read more

Booked this hotel weeks in advance expecting (due to room specific pictures) I was getting a king bed, balcony, on site parking (confirmed as I arrived) at a beautiful hotel with a courtyard of beautiful foliage plants with a small pool. NOPE. I ended up with a third floor, 100 square-foot room without as much as a window! No courtyard, no pool, and their "on site" parking that was promised is actually a public parking lot with about 30 spaces at $60/night. This was an absolute nightmare! I spend quite a while looking at hotels to book online for the perfect get away for my new fiancé and I to escape for the night...and was completely disappointed and totally heartbroken at what we received. Even half the pictures listed here are NOT the Inn on St Ann, it's actually pictures of their sister property a few blocks away! To top it off, they would do nothing to make it right! Not. A. Thing! Wasted money and I strongly encourage anyone interested in this hotel to look elsewhere for your visit to the French Quarter. There are plenty of other, BETTER hotels to choose from in the area with the same price point. This was not worth the $190/night I spent. read more
