All, forgive my LATE post...as this detail was done in March. Our new 90D Model X went direct from delivery straight to Innovative Detailing. If you live in SOCAL and are looking for a guy, recommend hitting this one up. I had spent months researching what I wanted to put on the new X. I spent weeks researching who to do it. Ultimately, I went with Dave Sylican at Innovative Detailing. Why? HE IS A PAINT GUY. For over 30 years, Dave has been detailing. Sure, there were other cheaper places for my wrap. But after meeting Dave, getting a tour of his shop, and learning his 'guy' that does the XPEL shaves his arms prior to installation I felt it was better to go with a paint expert and trust his word vs. just getting a good deal on the wrap. I called Dave a few weeks ago to get a quote on paint correcting and protecting my new Shelby GT500. Took the car down so he could evaluate it and tell me what he thought I needed to do. Dave is a very friendly and knowledgable individual, and he was very straight forward with me about what he thought I needed to do based on his evaluation and my desires as well. We arranged to bring my car back the next week to have the work done. Since Dave does all the work himself and only works on one car at a time, it took 2 days for him to complete the car. I own a 2010 Mercedes-Benz E550 Sedan in Black on Black and was looking for a local, high quality mobile detailer in Orange County to correct a few scratches and swirls that I've picked up over the last 2 years. My main objectives were the following: 1. Correct a scar/scratch on the rear passenger side wheel well. 2. Correct some light scratches on the doors and deeper than average swirl marks/spider webbing on the C pillar. 3. Remove some paint over spray and hard water marks. 4. General exterior detail (clay, polish, wax) I researched Yelp (naturally) and came across Innovative Detailing! I emailed Dave and he was very responsive. I took the car to his place on Thursday afternoon to have him examine the vehicle and provide and estimate. He was confident he could remove the scar, the scratches and the swirl marks with relative ease and no color sanding or serious repair. He took the time to answer all my questions and discuss the products he uses, which are very high quality and well-known name brands. He showed me some pics of an SLS 6.3L AMG that he recently done, and I was sold. We set my appointment for Friday afternoon. Dave said it would take 2 hours to complete and he would have three guys (including himself) work on it. I had them come over to my place and they arrived on time. They detailed the car, and allowed me to observe them doing their work and applying the products at each step and answering questions along the way. These guys are awesome. Dave and his team have a 5-star level of customer service and courtesy, and of course quality of work! The car came out fantastic. It was done in the 2 hours as promised and the paint was renewed. All of my objectives were completed, thanks to Dave and his crew. The scratches were gone, the scar was gone, the paint over spray and spider webbing were gone. Being relatively new and always garaged, my vehicle still has a good amount of clear coat left and Dave's team preserved that and built it back up. Afterwards, he took the time to show me the 3 main areas I wanted to correct in the sunlight and explained to me what products I would need to maintain the car as well as service intervals. Innovative is the second high end detailer I have used since purchasing my BMW 550i. First shop did my clear bra, full paint restoration, and nano coating. It was probably overkill to spend thousands but hey, I was excited about treating my new purchase well. After I nearly had a heart attack recently when shop 1 quoted me more than double this time for a detail, I looked for options on Yelp and found Dave at Innovative. I feel blessed to have found Dave, who is a down to earth guy, does excellent work with an eagle eye, and is reasonable in what he charges for very high quality work. All I needed for most of my car was a follow up detail. He recommended clay towel decontamination and a one step polish/sealer that resulted in a fine restored shine to my daily driver. There were some top layer hard water spots on one panel and he took care of it with a high speed polisher. Interior vacuum, wipe down, and windows cleaned perfectly (not even the shop charging a gazillion dollars got this right) and I was good to go. Occasionally I like to take care of my own car so I had lots of questions about how to take care of my paint finish and what products I need. Dave kindly and patiently shared his recommendations and had in stock the items I wanted to buy. I left Dave's shop very happy with my freshly detailed car and informed and stocked for DIY projects later. We talked family, past careers, and other stuff which was cool. I bought a new Camaro 2SS/RSS in black and discovered the dealer didn't exactly care for the paint the way they should have while it was sitting in their lot. Tons of tiny little (and some not-so-little) scratches in the paint when you look at it in sunlight. I brought it to Dave (the owner) at Innovative Detailing, who cleared out his afternoon schedule and stayed late in order to accommodate me. Having used other "detailing" services in the past, I discovered many places are really just overpriced car wash guys and don't have the same picky, discerning eye that I do. Dave really looks hard at the details and transformed my scratched paint into a GLEAMING work of art. Detailing isn't cheap, but this is definitely an example of getting what you pay for. Dave and two other workers painstakingly worked over my car for four hours and got fantastic results. If you want your car to look the best that it possibly can, this is the place to go. This was long overdue as I had only polished and waxed the car myself a couple times in my 8 year ownership. His shop is very clean and he has an excellent lighting system that highlights all of the flaws you can't see notice in other lighting situations. I asked David for a quote on removing an old dried sap spot from my denim convertible roof. He answered me right away and was pretty positive he could remove it without much effect to the fabric. I came by the next day and he shook my hand (A firm handshake means a lot to me) and got right down to business. I would say within 5-10 minutes he got all the sap off. There is a bit of a dark difference where the spot was (my fault for having left it so long) but overall the difference is stunning. Not only that, but he told me the secret to removing it should it happen again. Well worth the $20. I am thrilled with the results! Love Innovative Detail! A few days ago a pick-p truck decided to release some of its load of cardboard boxes in front of me and the BLU C6 on the 73N at 80mph. The boxes hit us like driving through a tornado. The finish on the bumper, hood, front fender, drivers door and trunk lid was ruined. It quickly went from the best of time to the worst of times, all without us knowing. This is one of those surprises that aren't fun to receive. Fortunately, in the aftermath, Dave at Innovative Detailing was there to save the day. Our normally perfect little pup must not have been feeling well when we drove to dinner. Somehow she failed to mention it. We drove, parked, ate, and came back to the car to a surprise. Based on the look on her face, she felt as terrible as we did about it. Ick! We cleaned up as much as possible and then had the pleasure of driving home, sitting on towels, for nearly an hour before arriving home. How could this be worse? One way would be to have Mr. Handsome's mother coming into town the day after. Unfortunately, that was the option that fate chose for us. The need to get a quality interior detail just went from high to critical. Critical. That was the state of things when I called Dave. He was booked for the day but, free of charge, was willing to spend a few minutes on the phone with me to understand the problem and give a few tips on how to clean things up. Filled with a glimmer of hope, I hung up knowing that I could survive one more day. Later that evening, Mr. Handsome took a look at the car, despite my cleaning, and agreed that a professional was needed in this case. So, for the second day in a row, I drove the smelly vehicle to work and vowed to call Dave back. Luck was with me. Dave had time at his shop in the afternoon. It must have taken two hours, but it didn't seem so long. Dave, smiling, ushered me over to see the interior of the smelly car. Whoa! Stand back! Really? This guy is good. Really good. Other reviews talk about how new their car looked. They didn't have dog illness embedded in the tiny holes in their leather seats, though. I did. Did. Past tense. Dave's wonderful Italian steamer gently pulled the nastiness from the seats and, including leather conditioner, they looked beautiful. I recently purchased a very special 2005 Porsche 911, but not without serious hesitation due to cosmetic issues, including headlights that required a complete restoration, curb rash on all wheels, and severely neglected paint. It was clear to me that the previous owner had parked the car outside, uncovered, throughout its life, and that the car had never had a professional detail. Of course, the car is black, which complicates things further. Nonetheless, the car was too rare to pass up, so I bought it and had it sent to Innovative Detailing (with fingers crossed) before I took final delivery. Based on Yelp reviews and Dave's website, I did expect to see an improved car, but I was absolutely floored when I saw my car in person. The headlights look like new, the wheels are rash-free, and the paint (even the worst spots) is smooth and shiny. I told Dave that the car literally looked like a different car. And then I gave him a hug. I've owned many cars over the years, and I have taken them to my share of detailers for various issues with paint, etc. My experience with Innovative Detailing is in a completely different league than even the best experience before it. My Z4 was completely crapped up by the detailer at my dealership on delivery, and it is a black car with its usual swirl marks, scratches etcetc. If anyone can work on a black car, Dave can. He is to the point, honest, and is just a pro at what he does. I did the highest level exterior paint correction and detailing package, and it was well worth it. He does not skip any steps, and goes at it until its completely perfect. He brings his helper too, Scott, who was courteous, genuine and a super hard worker. Both of them worked on my car the entire* afternoon tirelessly. They are able to come to your home so you do not have to bring it to them whatsoever and be car-less or without a ride. Their equipment set up is massive. Nothing I could have envisioned doing myself or have anyone else do. David is AWESOME! I just bought a brand new car and decided to avoid the expensive, gimicky paint sealant crap that the dealership sells. I wanted someone who could look at my car, tell me what it needed, not sell me anything I didn't need, and then do the job. So I found Innovative Detailing on Yelp and figured I'd give him a call. David was very nice, professional and listened to what I wanted before making suggestions. He then recommended a product that I wasn't familiar with, and encouraged me to Google it and see what I thought rather than taking his word for it. I did that and after finding nothing but positive reviews about this product, called him back to book an appointment. The next day, I went to his shop in Tustin. It's nice, simple, clean and perfect for the job of detailing cars. He gave me a quick tour of the products he was going to use to prep and seal my paint, answered my many questions, and then took my key and told me it would be ready in a few hours. Sure enough, he called me back on time to let me know that the car was done and that I could pick it up whenever it was convenient for me. Right after the call, he texted me a picture of the car so I could see how great it looked! So let's talk price... Innovative is not the cheapest place in town. He has a retail business space, top notch equipment, high end products, an attention to detail that you would expect a professional to have. So you get what you pay for. Could I have paid less elsewhere - Yes, but I never would've gotten the quality that I got from Innovative! (I'm sure that I I could've paid more elsewhere too!) My car looks great, the paint is well protected, the shine is deeper than I ever expected, and I now have a place to take my car to get a quality wash or wax whenever I need it. I have no regrets - It was worth every penny! Oh, and one more thing... None of the products he used inside my car had that cheap, oily, slimy look and feel like you get from gas station car washes who use Armor All. This is quality stuff! Although my car is white, it had quite a few microscratches to the paint from normal car washes and normal wear and tear. It obvious even talking with Dave for a short time that he has an immense amount of detailing knowledge from decades of experience. He is very passionate about his work, the cars, and giving great service. At the shop, he showed me some digital images of some high end cars he had worked on recently ranging from Mclaren to Lamboghini's. The shop itself is simple, but effective space with critically good lighting to identify scratches / imperfections from literally every angle. This is one thing you can't get from the abundant mobile services that are in the area. I came back the following wednesday for a detail, dropped the car off in the morning. Around 4 PM dave sent me some update pictures and told me the car was ready to be picked up. When I got there, the car looked almost Brand New and nearly flawless. The paint had been fully restored and fully nano coated. It was amazing. One of the biggest differences were on the wheels, where they looked almost a different shade. The true gunmetal finish of my platinum satin colored wheels really came out. Spectacular!
