Excellent service! The outside fan unit of our HVAC has recently been very noisy. Justin from Innovative Mechanical arrived on-time. He is very personable. He cleaned the coils and the fan blades and tightened the bolts on the frame. Following this, the HVAC fan was purring along nicely. Then he did a full maintenance check on the inside HVAC unit. This company is to be avoided. We purchased a heating system from The Home Depot. HD then contracts with Innovative Mechanical for the installation. The installation went fine (minus someone putting their foot through some drywall, which they fixed and them trying to put in a cheap thermostat when I paid for a fancy one). However, since the installation, we've tried to get them back out for annual inspections. Twice now, we make appointments with them and they don't show up. What's worse, they don't even call to say they won't be there. I miss work and waste time. Boo! Bottom line: Terrible follow-up service. Avoid this company. read more

My furnace started not functioning correctly late Saturday morning. I called Innovative Mechanical after seeing 1) they were open on Saturdays and 2) their good reviews on Diamond Certified and Yelp. I left a message and am pleased to report they returned in a few hours later. By then I had already secured help with another vendor, so I can't speak to the work they do. But they returned my message which is more than 11 other HVAC Repairs firms that all advertised Saturday hours and whom I had left messages with, desperate for help, had the decency to do. So that gets them a positive rating as it shows they are customer focused and strongly suggests they are reliable, professional, and customer focused. read more

We are pretty satisfied the service they provided to us. We asked them to come back to tweak our dampers/registers 3 times and they were able to work with us. Mark was polite and professional. Innovative Mechanical was recommended by Associated Window Cleaners (see my review). We had them come in along with another company for an estimate to replace our dryer vent hose. This was not going to be a simple "pull a hose through a wall and you are done" kind of job. Our vent goes up an internal wall, across the kitchen ceiling, and out to a low roof 10' up. This was going to require pulling drywall in the wall and ceiling. Both companies commented on the non-code corrugated flex vent that had been installed, and explained how they would need to go about the repair, replacing with straight duct. Neither was able to do the drywall repair, but both had recommendations. Sean was our estimator from Innovative, and he was very friendly, explained everything well, and answered our questions. When we got the quotes back, we were expecting two very similar numbers. We were surprised to see that Innovative's price was almost half of the other company! So of course we went with Innovative. They came in on time, and were very considerate of our home. They moved anything which might be covered by drywall dust, and then covered what wouldn't move with plastic, cleaning up as they went. They worked quickly, and were done hours before we expected! The finished duct looks MUCH better than the original. To finish the drywall, we went with their recommendation, R & R Drywall. My carbon monoxide sensor went off two days ago. PG&E came out and found high levels of CO in our house, and disconnected our heater. It was very cold. I called Innovative Mechanical. Within two hours, a technician came by and told me it would better to replace my 20 year old heater, then to fix it. He took pictures, and sent them to an estimator. Robert, the estimator called me, and emailed me a proposal. I had some questions which he promptly answered. I e-signed a contract, and today at around 9:00 a.m., Jose and Francisco came to my house, and by 1:30 p.m., my new heater was up and running. Everything was cleaned up, and they did a great job with the installation, even taping up insulation on my vents that had torn. I called Ada at the office, and paid her over the phone. THIS WAS FABULOUS SERVICE. I highly recommend this company. I look forward to sleeping in a warm house tonight. read more

Innovative recently installed a new furnace and A/C system in our home. This included new duct work as well. I can't say enough about the great work they did. They were courteous, professional, and very thorough. I've dealt with a lot of contractors over the years (we have a very old house that needed a lot of work when we first bought it), and have my share of horror stories to tell - but these guys did such a good job it's restored my faith that there are actually companies who really do want to do the best work they can do and take care of their customer. We contacted Innovative over a year ago to troubleshoot/repair our very noisy 15 year old gas furnace. After several visits (for which they did not charge us), exhaustive step by step process and consultations with the manufacturer, the conclusion was it couldn't be fixed: it would work, but noisily and inefficiently. Through all these visits and horrible traffic from South City to Palo Alto, the technicians were professional, friendly and determined. Our problem became their problem. At no point did they try to sell us a new furnace. We decided that the furnace was possessed and finally asked them for a quote for a replacement. The new furnace and thermostat were installed yesterday, and we are happy! I'm sure the new equipment is great, but even better, the whole IM team--from the office to each field employee (Liz, Steve, Al), were determined we would get a good outcome. We continue to maintain our unit with the Company because of their expertise and efficient staff. Elizabeth is an efficient and friendly front office person, who quickly assesses your needs and refers the job. We had a new flat roof installed, and the A/C pipe was too short. Sean was called and he took care of speaking with the Roofing company, found out what was needed, and arranged to have Steve come out to fix the problem. Our digital thermostat was broken. I contacted Innovative Mechanical for assistance. Elizabeth promptly responded and dispatched Dominic immediately to our home. Dominic performed a few, simple tests to isolate the problem and helped me decide whether to fix or replace the thermostat. It was time to replace it. He had a new thermostat in his truck and, without delay, replaced the thermostat. Dominic took the time to check our filter and provided a brief tutorial on how to program the new thermostat to conserve energy. I want to start by thanking Innovative mechanical and their professional employees for a wonderful experience. Al, Ken, Steve, and a couple other guys whose names I can't remember. These are the type of people you want working in your home, especially when you have four little kids, like I do. Courteous, respectful, clean,... you get the picture. I had a 20 year old heating and air condition unit which was barely working. I also had old duct work that was in desperate need of repair. Al came to my home and let me know exactly what we needed to do to get my new system in place. He laid out a plan, and explained the whole process to me. It made me feel comfortable! As a result, they charged for coming out to just give me a quote. I have disputed this charge and they are still trying to collect. Okay.. If you are looking for someone to provide you with professional service, good customer service, and someone with good knowledge for your heating furnace. I was very impressed with the service rep who came over and looked at two furnaces I have and was able to spot what kind of work would need to be done. The guys who came over to perform the work did a great job. My furnace is now up to code and permitted. They worked fast, cleaned up after themselves, and explained to me all the work they did. If there is a problem with my furnace, I'm definately calling them back again.. They even said if there is a problem the will return to fix it until they get it right.. read more

Talk about Excellent Customer Service! The team at Innovative REALLY went out of their way to help us. Our heater broke down during one of the coldest weeks and we started to panic as it was late Friday afternoon and we thought we would have to live with the freezing cold until Monday. We called Innovative Mechanical and they sent over a tech right away. The problem we had wasn't a simple one and he spent hours in front of the heater, he finally figured out what the problem was and even though by this time it as after hours he made sure he hunted down the part we needed so we wouldn't have to go cold through the weekend. From my first contact for an estimate to the final broom sweep at the completion of the installation to the programming of the thermostat Innovative Mechanical's team performed in an efficient and professional manner. Accolades to Steve and Dominick, the installation team on this project. They arrived on time; they were polite and maintained a high level of professionalism during the removal and installation of the furnace. They not only identified a code violation, but recommended a solution that would correct the problem. This could have been a cost driver but Innovative Mechanical did not add cost to the project. The City Inspector arrived earlier than anticipated and they effectively negotiated with the City inspector to return on the same day to avoid a rescheduled inspection. The front office is very pleasant and professional. All of my questions were addressed and they met my scheduling needs. Working with Innovative was a pleasure and I would recommend them simply because they do excellent work, understand the code requirements, they maintain all licensing, bonding and insurance requirements and they are very cost competitive. read more

Innovative Mechanical (IM) did an excellent job in repairing my furnace. My gas furnace failed me after 30+ yrs and exactly when I needed it most this past Nov. It was freezing in my home.
