RIP OFF!!! BEWARE!!! Unoccupied house for sale and the AC dies. Family is all in So.Cal. A perfect opportunity for a dishonest service tech to take advantage of our vulnerable situation. That's exactly what the tech from JW Heating and Air did. After replacing the capacitor (a $30 part that takes 15 min to replace), the AC was fixed. However, our story doesn't end there... The JW tech reported that the breaker repeatedly tripped when he re-applied power and that the whole condenser and evaporator coil in the FAU needed to be replaced! The estimate? $7800!!! OUCH!!! I was able to get a trusted referral from a family friend (should have done that to begin with). This tech went to the house, reported that the AC was working fine. 2 days later, it's still humming along keeping the house a nice 78°, 24 hours a day. His bill? $87. Do Not Use JW Heating and Air! read more

Needed to have our a/c checked because it had been a while. Julio came on time, was very considerate by wearing a mask and booties. He spent 2 hours checking everything and cleaning equipment and also took a lot of photos so we could see what was done and where we may have issues. In the height of Covid we were all stuffed in our home, working and studying together. We needed A/C and we needed it fast. A call to JW - they were out to look at our house a couple of days later. They made some suggestions about what was suitable (and more importantly available) and sent a quote later that day. Great company - installed my AC unit almost two years ago - have had a couple issues with it (mainly leaking) but they were always quick to come out and fix it. Gina in the office and Jaime in the field are fantastic. I called them again last week, they came out a few days later and found a pretty major issue with the unit - so instead of doing another fix, they replaced my unit with a new one! Hard to give anything good on this one. But I contacted JW last month and an appointment was scheduled for this week. A day before it was cancelled because of an emergency. No, it wasn't moved to the next day or week but a month to two months out with the parting comment of maybe find someone else if you can't wait. Seems like I've already been waiting. read more

In 2021 I moved into a condo in Santa Clara. I purchased the place knowing it would need a new HVAC system. My realtor, (who's been in the business 20 years) recommended JW Heating - the only HVAC company he will work with. I called JW in April 2021, but they were completely booked through September! So I went with another company that proved to be a complete disaster. They came out for "inspections" 4 times over a period of 3 months. Provided no information, no proposal and no follow-up. I finally gave up on them. I called JW again in September ('21). Jaime was at my place within less than 2 weeks. He did a full inspection of a challenging space that accommodated the air handler. He stayed over an hour...taking measurements, looking at all the equipment, the AC unit on the roof - everything. (More than the other guy had done in 4 visits). Jaime said he'd have to research available equipment and would have a proposal to me within a week. A few days later he sent me ALL the information. He completed ALL the necessary work within the time frame he originally set out. The final cost ended up being just slightly higher than his original proposal, but that was not unexpected. He was polite, thorough, wore a facial covering while in my home. His employees who did the installation were all incredibly polite, friendly and careful. They provided first-class, top-notch service. His office manager, Gina, kept the entire process moving seamlessly. JW secured all the necessary permits from the city of Santa Clara, arranged all necessary inspections, and made the entire process move along perfectly, and as promised. I could not be happier. Jaime and his crew installed a new furnace and ducts t/o my house during a remodel a few years ago. When I recently decided to pull the trigger and add central A/C to my place, I asked my general contractor for recommendations and JW Heating topped his list. I reached out to Jaime and he got back to me quickly to setup an in-person visit. During the visit, he offered suggestions on the best setup for my home and then followed up with a formal bid which turned out to be a competitive price. Jaime and JW installed our HVAC system after our remodel a couple years ago. We were happy with Jaime and JW Heating & AC during initial installation. Good value, good to work with, Jaime was a good guy, etc. However, all this has changed in post sale period. Their service is non-existent. I have been trying for a month to get JW to come out and service a flaw with their design that is causing an air quality issue. I have left messages on the biz number (cuz they will never pick it up in my experience), emailed their business, called Jaime's cell directly ALL MULTIPLE TIMES AND CAN'T EVEN GET A RESPONSE. To me, post sale service is equally import to initial sale and installation. Apparently, JW feels differently. Take the money and run? Can't afford to manage service? Don't know the reason, but consider them wisely due to my experience, which is echoed by others - go check Google reviews for one... read more

Came by twice to ensure his quote was accurate and addressed my concerns. Louis, who did the work with an apprentice, provided an elegant solution for the piping runs and duct modifications -- very clean and neat. Their price was very reasonable too. We are very disappointed with JW Heating and Air Conditioning. After getting estimates from a few heating/AC companies, we chose JW to install our air conditioning (also because they were recommended to us by our friend). This was done in early May. We didn't use the AC much until the end of June when we discovered it didn't work. They did come relatively promptly after we called them (took them a couple of days to return the call) and fixed some leak. The AC seemed to work ok (though we haven't used it much due to cold weather) until last week when it stopped working again. We called them again at the end of last week and haven't gotten any response from them. We left the first message on Thursday or Friday of last week. We called and emailed them this week as well. Today is Wednesday evening and still no response. We are very disappointed with their horrible treatment of customers and we regret hiring them to install our AC. read more
