The AC in out master BR, LR and kitchen failed Saturday and I had a hard time finding someone who could come out. I can't say enough great things about Josh, Clayton and the owner Trent. The builder of my home did such a poor job of installation that my AC broke after only 2.5 years. Uncertain how it could have gone any more smoothly. A cold front pressed into ATL Dec. 1. My tenant reported an unresponsive gas furnace. Called Innovative Mechanical around 9 am, they indicated they could send a technician after noon that day. They did. Craig, the technician, called 1 hour later. Very polite and concise in his verse, described 2 parts he'd need to either: get it running (ideally), or to otherwise advance the trouble-shooting process. Gave me an estimate & I green-lighted it. Craig called again 2 hours later, furnace running, unit air temp now 72 F (originally 56 F). He alerted me to pending issues concerning continued dependence on the aging system. Final cost was $80 more than the original estimate, but I never asked if tax was included in the original estimate. Done deal. I wouldn't characterize Innovative Mechanical as inexpensive....but admit I have no idea if they are, because I only got their one estimate. Chad and his team are outstanding. I initially hired them for my AC service contract, but a year later my old system finally quit (right before Summer). Got a few quotes and Innovative Mechanical was competitively priced and was willing to credit me for some work they had done about 8 months earlier. Here's where the excellence customer service comes into play, my AC started failing Wednesday and they came out Friday to give me a quote. Chad was really thorough on discussing my old system (nearly 25 yrs old) and what to look for in a new system. They fortunately had a cancellation and was able to start the replacement that Tuesday. Wednesday they were installing the units and ran into a few unforseen issues (supply chain and old installation challenges). They stayed until almost 11 p.m. (with discussion of how late they could work) to ensure the upstairs AC was working so it would be cool to sleep. Came back on Thursday and finished everything up. Chad even called his team at 9:30 that night to see if they could finish because if not he would bring over a plug-in cooling unit. They are a small, independently run company and you can tell by their true care for their customers. read more

I found a leak in my ceiling that was directly along a air duct in my attic. I called the Monday before Thanksgiving and was able to get a Wednesday afternoon appointment for the same week. The tech was on time and informative. He took the time to explain my HVAC system as well as provided some helpful information to diagnose my issue...it was a plumbing issue that was caused by the builder's HVAC company. Not wanting to go with any one of the major area providers based on past experiences, we found some very positive reviews for Innovative Mechanical and requested a quote for a replacement for our 10/20 year old HVAC system. Chad, the owner, came out to give us a quote and I was quite impressed with how much knowledge he had and was willing to share. We compared Chad's quote with others (it helps to understand the type of system you are being quoted - 1 stage, 2 stage, or variable speed and the different "trim" levels as some providers will mix the furnace and compressors which can make it harder to compare). Chad's first set of quotes were much higher than I expected but in all fairness, I wanted a Porsche but pay for a Pinto. Megan from the office called a few weeks later and was thoughtful enough to ask if we would like some additional quotes which might be more in like with our expectations - which was great. We agreed on a quote and scheduled the install. Craig and Jordan arrived on the scheduled day around 9:30 a.m. and after they had a few minutes to survey the attic and current layout, they told me it was likely going to be a 2 day job. I was a little apprehensive at first thinking we might not have AC for a night (first world problems, I know) but with both Clayton and Chad pitching in, they made sure we had enough AC the first night although the guys probably worked way longer than they should have (because they wanted to get everything perfect which I appreciate - especially given we went with a less expensive configuration). The second day was long for the guys also but they made it out before sundown while completely cleaning up the nightmare of ductwork in our attic - it looks 100% cleaner and safer also. We were really impressed how clean, polite, and diligent everyone one the crew was with their approach to the job. Only very minor "issues" we experienced were the unexpected hole in our wall (they correctly removed an old thermostat and humidifier control but we forgot the holes from such left behind are our responsibility which other buyers will likely not have). Other item was the condensate line wasn't correctly affixed to the drain (may have been the original set-up but should have been checked). It resulted in a small water mark on our bathroom ceiling but which we fixed and did not ask anything of the company. I would very much recommend the company and look forward to dealing with them in the future for the maintenance of our new system (which works great, won't break down anytime soon, or fall into our hallway). read more

Innovative Mechanical did an excellent job when our AC wasn't working. For 1/2 the service charge of everyone else we contacted, they sent a tech out the next day to look at both our units. One unit just needed to have a switch reset, and the other wasn't getting electrical power correctly. The diagnosis was covered by the service charge and we had air in one area same day, and the next day had the rest fixed by an electrician. Just a great company. read more

Chad came out to give me an estimate on a new system and I was very pleased. I was impressed from scheduling the appointment (all done via Yelp) to coming by for the estimate (he arrived early!). I was up front with him about the fact that I was trying to decide whether to take the offer from my home warranty (and let them replace just the condensing unit) or if I was going to go out on my own and replace the whole HVAC system since it was a pretty old system. He spent plenty of time with me going through what I needed and even gave me some energy saving tips. He ended up recommending a smaller unit than what another company suggested. The proposal he gave me included 4 options which ranged from budget friendly to top of the line. We ended up going with the home warranty. Had we decided to replace the whole HVAC system we would have had no problem going with Innovative Mechanical! read more

When our main HVAC units went out this summer, Chad and his crew were the highest rated in Atlanta on Yelp, so we gave them a shot. There's a REASON they're the highest rated; Chad showed up the next day and had the new units up and running a day later. We got the same high level of personal service when both of our water heaters (things happen in twos around here) went out last week. They came out the next day and we chose to go with the large, high BTU, tankless water heater. There was an issue in bringing venting up to code, but Chad and his guys were here all day Sunday figuring it out. Now we have all the hot water we need when we need it. Can't say enough about the level of service and expertise these guys bring with them when they come to solve your mechanical problems. Would give them a 10 if I could. read more

Second time we've used them in a month, and each time Innovative Mechanical has provided absolutely incredible service!! About 3wks they installed our new AC unit for upstairs. The unit was massive and didn't fit through our gate around the AC units outside. I thought I'd have to downgrade the AC unit, but they told me not to worry. They thought outside the box and figured out how to get the AC unit through the gate without any issues. They finished in less time than expected and made sure we satisfied and understood how to operate the new unit. Had to call yesterday because our downstairs unit went "out". Luckily someone was able to come out same day! Craig was able to point out the problem within minutes!! Turns out it wasn't an AC issue, but rather an electrical issue as we loss power to that outlet. The issue caused water to fill the drain pan which he drained. He changed the outlet to the AC and made sure everything was operating properly before leaving. Cleaton managed to bring our 15 year old AC unit back to life after it stopped working (even showed up at the beginning of the two hour window we were given!). He advised us that the unit had been installed in 2003 and that it may need more extensive work, and advised us that the older (now much more expensive) coolant was going to be expensive before taking any action. I approached him asking about quotes on new units (we have been expecting the expense since moving in) and they quoted lower than expected, even offering to wave the cost of the maintenance that day! Scheduling was flexible and available on weekends, then they showed up on time and didn't even seem to sit down ONCE for the 9+ hours it took to install, removing the old units and installing the new in a tiny attic space! All functions were tested before leaving and Cleaton made a point to walk me through how to change my filter, what kind of failsafes had been installed, etc. All my AC/Heat business is 100% going to these guys in the future! read more

We solicited MANY offers through Yelp to get the best deal diagnosing and repairing our heater. We were looking for an inspection fee that would count toward the repairs. Innovative offered that, had the lowest initial inspection fee, and was able to come out and diagnose same-day. Taylor, their admin, was attentive and responsive on Yelp messenger and on the phone. We had no trouble getting in touch with anyone from Innovative, and each person was delightful to deal with. Our technician, James, arrived timely and made sure we had all of the information we needed about the heater and new part before he left. He was honest and trustworthy. Payment was easy even though I was away from the house, and the office immediately emailed over an itemized quote for the part and labor. With the specific diagnosis, we reached out to other companies for quotes, a couple of which came in under. We asked if Innovative would match since we loved James and the company's responsiveness and professionalism. James got us on the phone with the manager, Trent, that day. We finally touched base late in the evening (around 8:30pm), which I respect. Trent matched the quote and James came back the next morning despite the snow prediction. Polite and determined to repair the rusted pipes, he fixed the machine. He even used a towel to protect our hardwood floors. James offered us a year-long priority customer heating and cooling maintenance plan, which discounted our services even further for a nominal additional cost. The tech was running late after a long service call and called to let me know he would be late. I said it was a friday and we could get by until the next day so need to come so late. 4 months in to the new Ac unit and i must say its stellar. I was waiting to see if there were any hic-cups b4 posting. The guys and gals are professional and they've covered that to a T. The job itself was superb, i've had my unit break down a couple times and each time i called a different companies to take a look @ it and the patch up job was bad, i literally burned $1700 trying to fix a unit when I could've just put that in to a new unit which i ended up doing anyways. Why the 5 stars, i've witnessed the tech guys from a different company install a evap coil (4-5 hrs) i don't know if it was done properly but it lasted a week. I didn't want to deal with the b.s so i called Chad. He was straight up, fix the broken unit and hope it doesn't break down again or just install a new unit. The rate was comparable to my neighbor that had his unit done (Lenox), but what i like about Innovative, Chad was personally guaranteeing that the job done would be the best and the dudes that came for the install proved it. They even had to remove the trim in the attic coz the unite wouldn't fit, while putting it back in they didn't have the nails required. They came back a couple days later with the tools and it was back like it was never taken off. All this was explicitly explained even before we even started the process. Next door neighbor last week had his unit replaced he didn't take my recommendation to use Innovative and that company (largest in the area) screwed something up and had to come back to finish the job and the unit was not comparable to Lenox with a much lower seer for a grand less. So if you're thinking of getting an AC repair, bite the bullet, invest the extra $$ and go with a company that backs up its work and stakes its reputation. They may not be the biggest out there, but biggest isn't always the best. read more

Several years ago my AC was not working and several of my neighbors had recently paid thousands of dollars to replace their older systems, which also included renting a crane to put the new system on the roof of the building. I was dreading going through this myself. I tried several companies, including those recommended by neighbors, but Innovative Mechanical was the only one that had a reasonable rate to come out to diagnose the issue--and actually had people scheduling instead of a call center detached from the company or technicians. They were also the only ones able to come out within a day, others were scheduling 3+ days out with no promise of even being able to fit in a replacement within the next week if it came to that. Thankfully, when Trent came to check out my issue, he saw that even though it was an old system, there was no need to try to sell a full replacement because it only needed a simple $50 repair. Although that may seem like a missed opportunity and perhaps not the best business model, they now have a loyal customer in me. I knew that I didn't need to shop around and just went directly to Innovative Mechanical for my annual service this time and I will definitely be using them when I need to replace my old clunky system in the future. read more
