First of all, Brittney was so responsive and flexible about scheduling, helping me schedule my trials and being so unbelievably understanding as the number of appointments grew and shrank leading up to the wedding. We had our appointments inside the salon because we had a relatively small group and didn't want to deal with finding an appropriate space in one of the hotels. We are so glad we did--- It feels so warm and welcoming inside the salon, and we even were able to put out a breakfast food spread during the appointments! Brittney did our hair for the wedding day (we also got great blowouts/curls from Marisa and Michaela the day before!) and she is amazing---she is so so talented, and our hair stayed completely perfect for our entire 14+ hour event. Everyone had such different hair types and styles and everyone told me they got exactly what they were hoping for, if not far better! Nicole did our makeup and we similarly could not be more impressed! She knew exactly how to handle all of our concerns and made sure that everyone loved their look. We all just couldn't stop looking in the mirror! Just like our hair, the makeup did not budge throughout the day, even though we were in a hot and humid environment! Not only are all of the folks at Strand wonderfully talented, they are also just so nice!! I brought my…read moreEXTREMELY picky eleven year old daughter into Xandria for a new look, which I was nervous about it because she's never happy with the haircuts she gets. Mary reached out to me beforehand to ask about styles and talk over the inspiration shots we sent. My daughter wanted a "cool" haircut, and I didn't want her to look too old just yet - Xandria talked to both of us, assessed her (long, curly) hair as it is and asked about how she wanted to move forward with styling and caring for her hair. Then she did a cut that balanced exactly what we both wanted and works perfectly for her hair type. She's happy with the bouncy layers that make her feel more grownup and she looks beautiful in an age-appropriate way, phew! More importantly, when Xandria asked her opinion at the end, she said "Perfect!" which has literally never happened. Xandria also chatted with my daughter and was very communicative through the whole cut, which really put her at ease. (not to mention a superb eyebrow wax each time!) Jess is my go to stylist although I would feel comfortable with anyone there... Most recently, I came to them after having "temporary" red dye added to my hair months ago from a chain salon (which will not be named). Turns out the color was far from temporary and when I tried to lighten my hair it turned a lovely shade of orange. Jess and Jill worked tirelessly to fix my hair and turn it into the fabulous ombre I was hoping for! I have moved away from the area but still come back to see them... it's worth it every time!

We had adjusted my hair color here and there for the past 4 or 5 years but my hair length and cut remained the same. Most recently, however, I finally decided I wanted a change. Jill was more than ready to take on the task even though I hadn't given her any warning. I came in with a very vague idea of what I wanted, "short and with some streak of some color in it." And she and I did some research, figured out what we would have to change my base color to, what cut would look best and what color we would add. I was her last appointment of her day and she happily spent extra time to make sure it looked perfect! I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a new salon to check out hairs-to-you. I have always seen Jill but all the other girls are really great.
