Phil is the best - both earnest and extremely helpful in finding the car that worked best for me. Any time I pop in for maintenance, he always pop in & make sure I'm taken well care of. Andy and the service team are top notch, I feel like I'm at Cheers where they know my name. Andy recognizes me when I walk in and is both extremely organized and communicative. I enjoy their stunning and calming waiting room, I sometimes prefer to use that over their concierge option. Any service they make includes a video summary that is concise and informative. I'm going with Genesis exclusively from here, especially with this location.

I was very happy with the purchase of my G70 from the original Round Rock location and up until the…read moremost recent interaction, then scheduling regular service things had been as expected, but this latest interaction is completely unacceptable. After a regularly scheduled service and state inspection, I discovered my windshield fluid was not working. Only a small amount was on the drivers side and none on the passenger side. I opened the hood to discover it was spraying on the engine compartment. I want online on 2 August and the only appointment was for 19 August, which I scheduled, but in all the notes and asked to be contacted to confirm I could stay with the vehicle during service. I was never contacted, so I called and left a voice mail multiple times. Finally the day before my appointment a women called to tell me it would take a week and a half to diagnose the problem. A week and a half? I could have dropped the car off on 2 August and allowed them the time, but the day before? This is not acceptable for a luxury brand, especially when I had notes to contact me in the scheduled service. Either read the notes or do not bother to have online scheduling. Combine this with the difficulty in trying to get into other Genesis dealers across the country when items pop up or trying to get service and I am totally disheartened by my experience. I am SO very lucky I didn't spend the $82k I was planning on spending on the new G80. Or maybe that is the price point where the service improves, even after the 3 year mark? Not sure, but this experience has not sat well, especially since nobody from the dealership has followed up since this incident. Not the Service Manager that I left a voicemail with or Ty my original salesman who I bought the car from and would have bought my G80 from as well.

Had shocks installed on my truck, and replaced under lifetime warranty twice. Once in the early 70's Two visits in a row, James Bethke told me the alignment was right on, no adjustment needed; no charge. Any other shop would've charged for alignment, who would know? I always recommended Bethke. Eventually I quit working downtown, bought a newer car with a warranty, so I didn't get by there. A great disappointment to pull into Bethke's one morning to find it being disassembled. An honest man.

Universal can, let me show you. Aside from "Katrina" (my '01 Silver Bullet) I also own an '88 Toyota Supra Turbo named "Black Beauty". I bought her used in '99 from my BFF after college graduation and moved her down to the TX heat from MI. If Paris Hilton ever had the privilege to ride in Black Beauty she'd definitely say "That's Hot". Fast forward a few years, I started having engine problems - when I used the A/C the engine would overheat w/in 20 min, that's not good because now you're talking about something serious. I eventually got used to driving w/ the windows open and no A/C (yes, sweating like a pig). None of my friends wanted to ride w/ me in Black Beauty, we soon became loners, and we both took it personally. Like Paris says: "That's Hot". I did a lot of online research to diagnose the issue. Years ago before I discovered Universal Motors I took her to another local shop who directed me to take the expensive route: replace a bunch of parts and see what happens. So I paid them to overhaul my A/C, install new radiator, hoses, and thermometer. The result: no change, the engine still overheats with the A/C on. So after spending $2,500+ I got really upset at them and ranted: "WTF is wrong w/ my car?!?!". Their response: "I don't know". My response: "You suck!!". Paris would say: "That's Not Hot". I eventually upgraded and bought "Katrina", then let Black Beauty sit idle for a very long time, not sure what I would ever do with her. I thought about selling her, but the engine issue is a risk to any new owner, and I wouldn't get that much for her. Not to mention, we are also emotionally attached. Yeah Paris, we're hot. Fast Forward 4 years, enter Universal Motors. After several consistently great experiences w/ David Chong for my Lexus I finally dropped BB off and told him my sappy story. He spent 5 min looking over the engine and tinkering w/ it and immediately finds the root cause: "you have a bad clutch fan, that's about $85". What?!?! Are you sure?!? "Yes, I'm very sure, but let me do a more thorough check just to be safe. David did an extensive engine diagnosis and it turns out he was dead on - a new clutch fan fixed my engine overheating problem. I was shocked at how quickly Mr. Chong was able to correctly and accurately diagnose the problem, and all I could think about was how I wished I had found him sooner, but then again it's better late than never. He took good care of Black Beauty, spent a lot of time on her, and also repaired a few other minor issues. Now she runs like a young black thoroughbred like she used to, beatin' the hell outta Mustang Cobras and any Rice Burner who crosses our path. Our next project: a new coat of paint. Forget Paris Hilton, Black Beauty hearts Universal Motors.

These guys worked for years down South at Austin VW until deciding to open an independent shop - so their knowledge and expertise is top-notch. I had my 140,000 mile maintenance done - they explained everything well and removed the charges for the services I didn't need. I also had all my glowplugs replaced and a brake light switch fixed which they both did for much less than another shop had quoted me. I dropped my car off and Nick offered to give me a ride to my office a few miles away which was a better option. The work was done very well and was finished the same day - actually slightly faster than they told me. The reason I found to give them four stars is that the shop is a little difficult to find because they don't have a proper sign yet. If you're having someone pick you up who is bad with directions, they might have a bit of trouble. Otherwise I fully recommend these folks!
